Meals on wheels doesn't demand a share of everyone's food and then threaten you with a gun if you refuse. the "helping" part isn't what small government proponents object to; it's the stealing part. Fire and Police Depts are funded locally, not by some giant federal agency, and the police serve as one of the three arms of the one proper function of government: preventing coercion. And private libraries are fine by me.

If the gov't didn't tax me so much, I could easily afford the fire bill.
