  • If you're reading this after February 21, 2012 you can probably buy the film; that was the release date forthe DVD and Blu-ray versions of the film.

21-02-2012; the numbers just line themselves up!

  • Is it any good in english?

  • Awesome film, was ushering at the DFT when it played yesterday.

  • is it gonna be playing in SF anytime soon? JUST missed the show at PFA :(

  • this is playing in berkeley next week at the pacific film archive at CAL

  • YES! Playing at the Whitsell in Portland, Oregon this weekend!

  • It's showing at LACMA this Friday and Saturday, for those who are in Los Angeles.

  • Is there any info on when the dvd release date is going to be? Even an approximate date would be appreciated (like, early next year...). I am definately going to see this on the day it's playing in LA (never seen a Fassbinder film in a theater before). Is there any word on other Fassbinder films that Janus/Criterion are planning on releasing at some point?

  • @labotamysausagedog Feb 21 through The Criterion Collection

  • @illegalphoto I knew it was getting released by Criterion but, thank you for the release date. I hope Criterion releases some more Fassbinder at some point. I already have the Criterion releases of Ali: Fear Eats The Soul, the BRD Trilogy set, and Berlin Alexanderplatz, and they are all great (especially the BRD Trilogy set). I got to see this in LA and it was really cool seeing it on a big screen.

  • This means a US dvd release is coming, right?

  • Wow - and finally a good trailer, that hints yet doesn't give away the whole story! Nice, very nice....

  • A truly visionary film, perhaps the first ever about virtual reality, long before TRON, Brainstorm, and the like, and while it's not in the same hemisphere in terms of aesthetic achievement or philosophical conception, Westworld, which has some slight parallels, was released the same year. Excellent print, Janus.

  • Way to go Packard! Very clean, subtle and sophisticated!

So cool to see you doing work for Janus.

  • Can't wait !
