Wow, I've never heard of these candles before, definitely an interesting concept for the candle, but for $50 it definitely needs work because there's room for improvement. Your candles are definitely look more realistic, great job :)
@deanhunt4417 It's $80 for a set of four lantern lights that is the basis of the hack. So each candle costs $20 + $5 for the wax candle + extra bulbs. If you run it for 3 years that would be $10 in bulbs. So, altogether $35. Plus, these are electric so no batteries to replace (unlike the Luminara). The drag is you have wires to hide.
@dionicia12 What is it with not making a realisitc LED color? Is it a physical limitation or something? Once manufacturers figure that out then I'm all on board :)
i still like your incandescent ones from the lantern hack better, too!...they look so excellent...and i like that they have replaceable bulbs (albeit $5 ones)...how does the overall cost compare between your lantern hack & the Luminara you bought on amazon?...just curious...thanks!...:D
@nynekats Each light from the hack was $20 + $4 wax candle = $24. In regards to replacing the bulbs. It's been nearly two years., At about a year in one bulb out of the trio bulb set burned out in most candles. It makes the flickering more obvious but not enough to warrant a $5 bulb change. Currently, out of the 8 candles I have, two of them has two of the trio bulbs out. Still - not enought to warrant a bulb change. If you want to keep that subtle flicker count on a $5 bulb change per year.
@Scaryladyvideos Continued........ Oh, and you have to change the batteries in the Luminara so looks like the hack is comparable (even cheaper) in price.
@nynekats Also, mine are on a timer 5pm - 10pm everyday. Not sure if you saw my additional comment below but in the Luminara it takes batteries so looks like the hack is comparable - even cheaper.
Pretty darn cool!

@dannyrcastro Yeah, once they get that color on the mark I'd call it a winner but that yellow is just too ...ummm ...weird.
