I will say, the USA has a lot of opportunities but its not so easy and the country is a big lie. there are enough 3rd world poor peole in USA already suffering. I've been there and done that and I wish every refugee all the best in the near future.

i personally work with Iraqi refugees, befriending them and helping them get settled. these people are loving, hard working, and proud. very similar to the founders of our country. it's very sad that they have difficulty finding work due to language barriers and even racial ones. even still, im glad they are here. The story is fine as a case study. But it says nothing about how the typical experiences an newly immigrated Iraqi might find in the US.

The family in this story already started behind the 8-ball. They moved to Salt Lake City which is a fine & safe city. But it is mostly homogeneous & it is not an enclave for any group from the Middle East. They would have their transition much easier had they gone to Dearborn, MI, the NY-NJ area, suburban DC or the LA-OC area. Utah is only good for Mormons.
