Very nice. However while you sung of the Big Red Machine there should have been a direct mention of Tony Perez. The Big Doggie, THE clutch hitter for those champions. HOF 2000
As a diehard Oakland A's fan who was "brought to tears" in a different way (October 1990), I have to say this is one of the best videos on youtube. Your love for team shows through strong. Keep making music dude.
This song is amazing. What a great song you've made here. I remember all of these moments like yesterday. It goes to show what Reds fans have for both faith and hope! I honestly think there is no other city that has the love for our team that Cincinnati has. Thanks for writing such a heartfelt song. It gets me everytime I hear it. And I regularly check in.....
without the most exciting baseball player of the 80's who could hit for power, steal a base or two in the same game, and cover half the outfield, this seems empty.
Eric Davis had six 20/20 seasons and owned 1986-1990 and was amazing after battling cancer in 1998 with a 30 game hitting streak and finish 4th in batting.
He also led the way in '90 (WS CHAMPS) with the most RBI on the team despite missing 30 games as usual from banging up his body in the outfield, & hit a HR in his 1st WS at-bat!
exactly - how do you talk about the world series sweep and wire to wire season, mention beating mcgwire, but not mention our superstar fielding centerfielder who also hit for power, stolen bases, and in the clutch tons of times (1st at bat in world series, and Reds never looked back - just like all season!) Mentions Benzinger of all people! I dreaded when he came to bat. Hatcher, Sabo, Larkin & Davis led the team's offense to the series win! Davis is a legend to true Cincy fans.
I lived in Greenup Ky home of Don Gullet. I remember when he would have Pete Rose, Johnny Bench and few more players at his farm on Rt 7 and they would bird hunt. Don would call my dad and he would take me and my brother over it was a great time. I feel old
Very well done. I grew up in Ohio, a Reds fan. I'll never forget the 1975 World Series, and I never hesitate to point out to people, that after Carlton Fisk hit one of the greatest home runs ever, we came back the next night and won one of the greatest World Series ever. Yes, if you're a Reds fan, and you see this video, and you don't get a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye, then you're somebody I don't want to know.
Love your songs, Ryan. Did you happen to be on Sports of All Sorts a few years ago? Because for some reason I think I heard of you through one of those sports shows on the news. I'm pretty sure you were playing the guitar too. ? Anyway, you're an awesome song writer. Let's just hope that this year there are MANY games that belong to the Reds. Like, more than 72. ;)
I played live on Sports Rock on WLWT in Cincinnati a couple years ago. Maybe that's where you heard of me? Thanks, though...and I am hopeful the Reds do better this year.
Yes! That was it. I was thinking John Popovich on channel 9 for some reason when I thought of where I saw you play but I guess it was Broo and Lap on 5. Once again good job! What a way to help get in the baseball spirit and out of the miserable Cincinnati weather! :)
Thats what everyone says every year. Honestly I am a much bigger football fan than baseball fan, I follow the reds and I'm happy when they win but I'm not as dedicated mainly because baseball just isn't my thing. If they are honestly improving really well far be it from me to call you a liar but you understand my skepticism.
i understand but think they have 2 good rookies fully more knowledgeable of the game really hopeful on the rotation think this will be there year + signing taveras who stole 68 bases and a catcher who can hit hrs+ so im sure their ready
Let me ask you: How is the pitching game? How many big hitters do we have? One quality doesn't make a player great at a game, I say if these rookies are all they are cracked up to be give the Reds a few seasons of more than mediocre play before you decide they are going to be great, I had to learn both of those things the hard way with the Bengals.
I meant the Reds, not the rookies. Like I said I don't pay attention to baseball that much but I know enough to know that the reds are horribly inconsitent.
I think we can both agree that the past few years has been riddled with mediocre at best play by the reds as a team.
Honestly I really hope that you are right, but I know better than to go along with the people saying they are going to be better while only seeing the offseason changes and training camp =[

At least when your a cincinnati fan you have one team with a history of being good.
Bengals, your time will come... hopefully soon because I'm sick of both our baseball and football teams being pathetic.

I never said i hated the reds , I have freaking season tickets.I just said if they could have a good ptiching staff , then they could be unbeatable.
DJMilo101 4 years ago 4
All we need is a good closer and a good pitching staff and they could get a world series ring..yes its possible!

The Reds could be good if they got a better bull pen and some younger, quicker infeilders.
