without the most exciting baseball player of the 80's who could hit for power, steal a base or two in the same game, and cover half the outfield, this seems empty.

Eric Davis had six 20/20 seasons and owned 1986-1990 and was amazing after battling cancer in 1998 with a 30 game hitting streak and finish 4th in batting.

He also led the way in '90 (WS CHAMPS) with the most RBI on the team despite missing 30 games as usual from banging up his body in the outfield, & hit a HR in his 1st WS at-bat!

exactly - how do you talk about the world series sweep and wire to wire season, mention beating mcgwire, but not mention our superstar fielding centerfielder who also hit for power, stolen bases, and in the clutch tons of times (1st at bat in world series, and Reds never looked back - just like all season!) Mentions Benzinger of all people! I dreaded when he came to bat. Hatcher, Sabo, Larkin & Davis led the team's offense to the series win! Davis is a legend to true Cincy fans.

I lived in Greenup Ky home of Don Gullet. I remember when he would have Pete Rose, Johnny Bench and few more players at his farm on Rt 7 and they would bird hunt. Don would call my dad and he would take me and my brother over it was a great time. I feel old

Very well done. I grew up in Ohio, a Reds fan. I'll never forget the 1975 World Series, and I never hesitate to point out to people, that after Carlton Fisk hit one of the greatest home runs ever, we came back the next night and won one of the greatest World Series ever. Honestly I am a much bigger football fan than baseball fan, I follow the reds and I'm happy when they win but I'm not as dedicated mainly because baseball just isn't my thing. If they are honestly improving really well far be it from me to call you a liar but you understand my skepticism.

One quality doesn't make a player great at a game, I say if these rookies are all they are cracked up to be give the Reds a few seasons of more than mediocre play before you decide they are going to be great, I had to learn both of those things the hard way with the Bengals.
