Obviously the books need 2 be rewritten on chinchilla care. My chinchilla is very good with communicating with me what he wants and he usually gets it and is very happy. You can watch my vids 2 see what I mean. He is the happiest little thing, and very attached to me. I couldn't imagine life without him!

What a sweet and sad video...I definately feel your pain :( I too, have lost a chinchilla to this horrible disease. I had to have my boy put to sleep 2 years ago at the age of 10 and I still cry over him every day. I'm so sorry for your loss.
i seem to watch this video everyday. it seems to make me sad and happy at the same time. iknow that sounds strange. Dory was a beautiful chin though. My girlfriend watched this video and pointed out that Dory and your silver chin look identical to our two newest chins, Kealy and Tripp. As a matter of fact, i think i am going to wake my babies up and make them play with me. i know its early but they will get over it. Watching this made me cry a lot. I lost my dear Smokey earlier today. He had 4 bladder stones and was bloated. I took him to the vet yesterday and got him medications. He didn't make it but he's in a better place now <3 R.I.P Smokey
Sadly malocclusion is in 95% of all Chinchillas in the US in some form or another. The UK it is 90% in a severe form. Yet pet stores sell them - people buy them and the Chin innocently suffers. All Chins should have their teeth checked by a QUALIFIED Exotic Animal Vet upon purchase. This is so sad I cry each time I watch it.
I agree with you but sadly too many people don't research before thay purchase an animal. I personally would never buy from a pet store but most do it simply for the convienince.
The pet stores although they are far from perfect when caring for the animals in their care the biggest problem with malo in chins comes from the breeders. People must stop brreeding chins they nothing about. Any chin with malo in its genetic background should not be bred.
Only pedigreed chins should be bred. Even then there is no guarantee...how do you know you are purchasing from an honest breeder?
Dory is the third chin I have lost to malo. Each and everyone loved with all of my heart. I will not stop trying to teach people the dangers of home breeding and the suffering it can cause.

One chinchilla is never enough! lol Once you have had one in your life I guarantee you will never want to be without one ever again. They are amazing and each so different, you will see this with Eddie. Losing Dory was a very sad time, caring for a sick animal always makes the bond between you stronger. She was and will always remain special, throughout all of her pain and struggles she taught me so much about love and what it can do.
When I rescued her she was thin and scared of everything. Her needs took over my life and even though she was with me for only 7 mths in that time she learnt to have fun and enjoyed being a chin again. Rescues are rewarding. Dory learned to feel safe and above all came to know love.

This was beautiful Sarah. I don't know what to say, Dory was like an angel and it hurts my heart to know that she is gone. I hadn't seen all the videos of Dory, but now when I saw them...they were amazing. I will always remember Dory.

I'm so sorry for your loss Sarah. In November I had to say goodbye to Csaboska, my favorite chinchilla. After 7 years of her company, I have found it so painful to accept that she is no longer here. But I know that she, like Dory, has a place in that great labyrinth which is for all chinchillas their eternal home...

There's a big lump in my throat. My deepest and most sincere sympathy, Sarah. Losing our little soulmates is a gut-wrenching part of life that we all eventually share. You did right by Dory and you can be proud of who you are. This video is a great tribute and gives me pause to appreciate even more how much my little guys mean to me. Thank you.

What a gorgeous, gorgeous little animal! I can only try to imagine your grief, they leave such a big hole in our hearts when they pass dont they. As time works its wonderful magic tho, you will find that empty space being filled to overflow point with the precious memories that are yours forever.

Ah I remember who you are. You are the wonderful lady who wrote the poem 'The Hand'. How that moved me, wow.
They do leave a big hole in your heart
but I can't help thinking how big that hole would still be had she not filled some of it.

Dory was the most beautiful Chinnie-girl I ever saw! The expression of her eyes could melt mountains of ice! I still can't understand ...life seems to be so unfair sometimes!
I hope there was any sense and that she is feeling great now playing with our other little friends behind the rainbow bridge!
We will never forget her and ever love her!! A great tribute for a great little Chinnie!

Oh Sarah, what a wonderful tribute to our beautiful Miss Dory.I was doing find until I saw her on the Chinspin.The tears started to flow uncontrollably.I was SO happy when I first saw her on it, and how much she was enjoying herself...enjoying life.But she never would have known that happiness & joy without you. You gave Dory what she never had. Love.We all loved Dory, and we will all miss her terribly.But no one will miss her like you do. Rest in Peace Beautiful little Dory.

It was hard looking back but so very healing at the same time. To look back and see how scared she was and how far she had come made it all worthwhile!

Sarah,, Dory was blessed,saved from abuse knew more love, more caring then most beings on earth ever get to know. I remember watching the video when she got on the chinspin.. I celebrated in my house, I danced and applauded like i was seeing the greatest show on earth.
You told Dory I loved her, and many times from my house I screamed out the window ,, I love you Dory!
