A guy's character is much more important than his social status. I mean, what good is a relationship based on possessions, money, etc.,? Love, mutual respect, and character are so much more important! However, you are going to find girls that do and don't care in any country, whether it be America or Singapore.

Think about all the tv shows portray how important social standings are etc! I admit i use to see a guy's social standings as really important when I was like younger, like high school? But now i think it's the guy'a personality which is more important (:

@JoFloball Hehe, I think I was procrastinating during exams and I was watching Singlish videos! Cause I use to live in Singapore and as weird as this sounds, I actually kinda missed listening to Singlish and your video popped up as a related video :D Yeah! BUT as sexist as this sounds, we gotta be fair though! Guys in society can be mmm .. not materialistic but ... think that how "hot" a girl is, is more important than personality! So I think our society as a whole is changing :(

AND IM NOT LIKE TT! :) I look for a guy's character and social status doesn't appeal to me Or rather is not one of the things I look for-in fact i find it intimidating when a guy has high social status. I also know of friends who are not materialistic. So perhaps ppl(or students tt were surveyed) in smu are generally rich/well bred? Idk! JUST SAYING. may nt be true smu students! :) pls take no offense at my words.
@justbeingakaypoh Well, I guess there are people/women who aren't like what the study depicts them to be as the article only said that "Singaporean women are " "significantly" more materialistic than their American peers". And being rich/well bred does not equate to the women being materialistic in her pursuit for a future spouse! :) I'm glad that you are different and not like what the study deems the a majority of the current women to be Tab :)) Take care and thanks for the comment!
@ixRainbow That's true :) but even so, materialism shouldn't be something which comes into play when one looks for a life partner. That would be... really sad. The article wrote that that was the number one priority that was given by the women who took the survey here!
Yeah, Singaporean Women are materialistic, unfortunately D: My sister-in-law MUST have her Gucci bag & what not.. Yeah, it's sad really.. For women in Singapore, we have like... a lot of expectations for a guy we want to be married to I guess. ><
