  • Arrow within a arrow

    ARROWCEPTION

  • robin hood

  • We call that a "Robin Hood" where I come from. :)

  • the second shit it looks like a spider is crawling up its web...

  • So U should have a sure shot of going on mythbusters...they're looking for someone who can split the arrow. According to them it was BUSted and They tried ALmost everything...even professional archers werent able to go all the way thru, only half way like kodyman20 said........=) AWESOME

  • @mssw33tgrl Yeah so maybe it was only a cedar wood arrow they were using...MY BAD

  • @mssw33tgrl The worlds best archer (it could just be an exaggerated title, i saw it on youtube a few times) had a competition in which he shot an arrow that went directly into the shaft of a previous arrow, the second arrow disappeared. It was completely gone inside of the previous arrow. It became stripped (all of the fletchings fell off) and went right it. It was amazing :)

  • @R4nd0m3p1cn3ss There's NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that a person can "shoot" an "arrow" at a "target" and that it can "hit the target". You're completely insane. People like you need to get a life.

  • @katsumorymoto the myth buster episode hew as talkign about had very special rules. had to be split from nock to tip, be wooden and shot from a recurve, then they started expanding till they were able to do it

  • last bit: And that is why you use Las Vegas or Dutch Targets ;)

  • my uncle did this with a cross bow...

  • aren't these arrows hollow though? so i'm guessing it is not that hard these days, considering the bows you can buy aswell. & @FelixNothus yes but they do have high tech equipment which is able to replicate pretty much anything, but i think the mythbusters said it was possible with modern arrows anyway just not back when robin hood was around.

  • i thought mythbusters busted the arrow splitting arrow

  • @Flames649 I've personally done this twice. My dad has done this MANY times, as has his friend that he shoots with. They are among the top competitive archers in the country... Mythbusters was just plain wrong.

  • @dustinsteeves

No, mythbusters are replicating the myth as close and accurate as possible. Thus, they used wooden arrows not some modern arrows or hollow arrows in this video. Even they can split a modern arrow, they will still bust the myth.

  • its possible it has been done many times i can split arrows with arrows but they end up going to the side about half way through the arrow im splitting takes lots of practice and is very difficult

  • @kodyman20

    Mythbusters aren't archers.

  • my buddy split an arrow almost the same way as in the video, except he split the nock in half which slowed the arrow down considerably and it didn't travel all the way through the other arrow.. impressive to say the least.

  • These arrows seem to be hollow or at least having soft core, see the way how their tip splits on impact (these which don't shatter). If another arrow hits their back they guide it through the middle. Doing it with classical arrow is another story.

  • @kasuha with a wood arrow the split arrow will only split perfectly like the ones in da vid if the grain of the wood is perfectly straight down the arrow shaft.... other wise the way the grain goes is how the arrow will split

  • @golfer15963 Splitting a hollow arrow is possible and relatively easy - you just get to hit the splitted arrow in the back end. But I have yet to see a video of a wooden arrow getting split. The only thing I have seen are two Mythbusters episodes about it where they tried really hard and still failed.I don't say it's impossible - I think there rather are no wooden arrows that have any reasonable chance to split that way.

  • @kasuha yea its possible with wood only if the grains of the wood arrow runs perfectly dow the arrow spine but thats like one in a trillion chance..... i saw that mythbusters and they said the same thing i am saying

  • ive hit an arrow with an arrow before, only went half way thru the shaft then dropped =P all it needs is good eyesight and a steady hand.

  • stupid how people think the split arrow shot is virtualy imposible... all it is, is good shot and practice i can say im new to archery and came close 2 times to almost spliting an arrow all u need to do is practice

  • these are Easton x10's and cost about 350-400 per dozen shafts, after fletchings and nocks its close to 500 per dozen. Make you cry to lose one or break em.

  • Why do you need something that expensive you can do just as good with the carbon express maxima and they are around $380 cheaper.

  • Maxima's are about 120-140 fletched, but those are a hunting arrow mostly, but some people use them for target. The camo shaft posted is a Eason xx75 or something of the equivilent. I have had about 8 robbinhoods, one being the farthest at 47 yards.

  • Easy to robin hood when you are shooting 5 arrows in a 2" group @ 50yds. Lots of em to hit. Those Maximas may be hunting arrows and a little heavier but they shoot just as good of groups as the most expensive ones out there today. AMOF they are the most expensive ones in the Archery shop here. Still a neat vid. anyway.

  • He must love his arrows!! No way. Can you find any arrows @ $500 a dozen??

  • my coach has a dozen of 'em x10s and he went 'what the fuck' when his arrow went through the entire length of the target board and hit the wall, which damaged his arrow.

  • nice...:D

  • what a waste of arrows, except for the last

  • @bobjoezonehill I did the same and im 13. Just to have luck you know (and maby be good) :D

  • Although hitting the arrow happens all the time these days with the high quality of equipment available, I still enjoyed the image of the arrow that shreds so much it almost looks like it's splashing.

  • I love the video, but tubing a carbon fiber arrow is not in the least impossible. At 25 yards shooting Carbon Express #250 Maxima Hunters from my Liberty Archery compound, I personally tube about one out of every six arrows. Consequently, I now shoot only at 7-bull targets - no kidding.

  • Interesting. I didn't realize 7 spot targets were made. FITA/NAA use singe or 3 spots, NFAA uses single or 5 spot.

  • WOW

  • awesome images

  • Umm its not really impossible to split an arrow, I did that with a medieval longbow and wooden arrows and yes it was straight down the center. If I get a camera I'll put a picture of it on YouTube

  • yeah the mith were an arrow to split another arrow IT HAS TO BE WOOD!!! the metals ones are like a straw so its freaking easy if you want to do that mith correctly you need a wood arrow with medievil style broad heads the nocking point also has to be the medievil style which is basicly a nocking point thats carved into the end of the arrow if you do that then its correct this isn't

  • the modern ones have a metal piece on the end wher the knocks go so you are more likely just to shot the knock of so its actually harder.

  • I did that couple of months ago.

  • its cool how is expands like a bullet on the steel.

  • an arrow spliting another arrow is not virtually impossible, it is mathematically impossible - becuase of friction and the way the arrow projects it's velocity - in other words also kinetically impossible

  • the airow has to be made of wood!!!

  • my freind did that yesterday

  • omgomgomg 0:15 holy crap!!!

  • virtually impossible shot my ass. practically every archery shop on the continent has at least one "robinhooded" arrow on display.

  • awsome vid this is prolly my favorite video on youtube 5/5 hands down nice vid...

  • @fm2h3 ur boring then lol jk;)

  • @fm2h3 if you like that watch this 0.o

1 million fps Slow Motion video of bullet impacts made by Werner Mehl from Kurzzeit

pretty damn good mind rape haha

  • splitting arrows isn't virtually impossible. It happens all the time and is really annoying. Wtf who edited this vid?

  • I just did that today actually. Will post video.

  • i just did that a couple days ago

  • Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen!

  • I shoot as often as possible "about 4 times a week" and splitting arrows is not facinating anymore its just plain expensive. If your a decent shot and you shoot more than 2-3 at one spot its gonna happen.

  • expensive? you can buy high quality arrows at walmart for 2 bucks each

  • No you can't. I work at walmart. And them arrows, let me tell you, are crap. I work in the GM ( general merchandise )recieving department, and them arrows are thrown around like no other. I would never buy arrows from walmart.

  • high quality arrow my assssssssss

  • same thing here when your arrows are 8 bucks a pop its not fun (well kinda)

  • roben hooding arrows becomes really commen when u shoot alot of arrows and u get really good...lol i had to reduce down to 2

  • it would be cool 2 see to bullets smack head on into each other

  • lol already been done in wanted the movie

  • thats a movie dog

  • yeah but that was CGI, it would be really difficult to have that happen in real life, and be caught on a high speed camera, because to fire bullets at eachother, they would prolly hit the gun opposite to them, making it rather impracticle

  • haha i loved the way the aluminum mushroomed...dmn its stilll straight get a long and narrow broadhead and you got urself a turkey arrow!

  • try with a real long bow and with a real wood arrow with a bone at the end piece... then you migth impress the world

  • whoa

    mellow out

  • virtuel inpossible? i'v done it over 10 times lol even at 70m

  • 4000 fps wow!

  • AWESOME!

  • wow - 1st comment :D
