Actually, most of Local Kokang people are mixed Chinese ethnic tribe minorities, i.e. Lisu, Paluang, Shan, Jingpo(Jachin), Hmong, and so on. Besides their own tribal language, Yunnanese dialect is the most common, not Mandarin.
Almost all of these "refugees" are ethnic Chinese (they speak Mandarin) and actually many of them are Chinese citizens (or have double citizenship), so why should they go back? China is a much richer country with more capitalistic freedom to make big money, no? China should welcome them back.

@bodomar47 i would like to correct 2 points. double citizenship is not allowed in red china. moreover, please distinguish citizenship from ethnicity.
