Hodgdon lists the .44 magnum with 24gr of H110 as having a velocity of 1500fps from a pistol, and 1800 from a rifle. Those are max loads of slow burning powder. Only way to get 2200 fps out of a .44 magnum is with 180gr bullets and almost max loads of H110.

Hey guys I agree with the comments about this face armor adding weight but think about the other applications. This would be great for a point man going into a building. Every bit of extra protection adds to you chance of coming home safe. I would like to see a 7.62x39 round fired into it also. This could help. But you have to realize that that facemask add weight. Your already carrying 60lbs of gear, and it's 120 degrees. This facemask will just make it worse, until technology is advanced.

Hey hey no need to get defensive man, never said you wouldn't be dead if it was a combat situation. I have no military experience, I'm just going by what the video is. And they should have tested the face mask with rifle ammo, rather than something you probably wouldn't see in the battlefield.

You would also have to be able to breath really well in it if your going to be in combat running around and scared. Until they can make one that's easy to breath in troops wouldn't even wear them.

my teacher won't stop talking about how cool this is, in my opinion there is a chance that it will not make much of a difference (mostly because of the enemy we are currently facing) however having this mask would (in conventional warefare) decrease deaths caused by head shots.

nice idea but not really that practical. situational awareness and vision would be comprimised and breathing would be impaired. good for like a .50cal gunner or something like that but not regular foot infantry

Second, STFU. A soldier has the right to refuse an order if it contravenes the geneva convention. I have know servicmen who have done this, that refused a fire control order when they have felt con-combatants where at risk. You know fuck all about the army, or what a soldier is.
