I think the directors intended it to be that dumbledore casts bellatrix away, rather than bellatrix fleeing on her own. If you watch he also initially pushes harry back, thats why he moves his wand completely around himself as he begins. This coincides with the book because dumbledore restrained both harry and bellatrix against their will during the fight by using the statue.

Best duel of all the movies. The whole "ima shoot light at you" mindset got so boring in the movies. What happened to the fucking ground cracking around Molly and Bellatrix? The book portrayed Molly as a boss, but the movie she still seemed all dopey and whatnot. Still love the movies, but still.
