  • you need imovie

  • im typing on an ibook and its working fine

  • You can run Final Cut on the iBook G4. Not the newer versions, but you can run older versions of the full Final Cut, or Final Cut Express 4 or below on the G4.

  • hey big question i have a g4 and i cant find it for less than 100 dollars which pisses me off since snow leopard is as low as 30

  • where can i buy tiger cd version cheap reply asap please!

  • thumbs up if u think a real up grade is getting a pc

  • @GhostLaughingMan thats more of a down grade ROFLMFAO!!!!!

  • @RocketVee Nope

  • how many gig hard drive do you recogmend i have in my ibook g4? i currently have 80gig hd and 512mb ram.

  • pff I tunes is not in ilife. it comes on ever osx install

  • upgrading the hard drive is pointless, just buy a portable one to save time replacing the old one.

  • @ATV642 but if your taking it around with you then that's not exactly viable

  • @eightbitheros when i had an iBook i use a external and I took it everywhere

  • @ATV642 really? i don't know whether i like that. ironically i still agree with you because i don't use my portable mac for anything that needs that much memory anyway :P so i wouldn't need a hard drive but yeah :) i think I just have something against external HDs for some reason

  • @eightbitheros by the way, my external HDD is a WD MyBook, it is a lot lighter than other hard drives and is very portable. I just find it very handy.

  • @ATV642 im not immensely familiar with externals. I use a mini station for Time Machine on my iMac and that is pretty small :)

  • Dose the os run smoothly on your Mac

  • you make ibooks sound shit witch there not

  • dfdfd

  • i got a ibook g4 with 768 MB memory. will this run mac os x leopard smoothley?

  • @ROFLMAOPC should run fine, but I'd recommend upgrading it to 1GB for best performance.

  • boring

  • I have just bought a iBook G4. It comes with Leopard installed, it has 384 MB of RAM. and a 30 GB DDR. I'm new to MAC. lol I'm new to MAC, I'm a PC person but always wanted a MAC.

  • @chevyman10001 me tooo.... but i didnt buy the g4, i got it off my brother for free cuz it was broken. but im fixin it up because it works now. i have installed a ram module and now i have 786 mb of memory. I soon plan to upgrade to a 1gb stick though. mine has a 40 gb hardrive, wish i had the balls to completely dissassemble my ibook to replace the hardrive with a bigger one, but i dont..

  • ur dickkhead

  • HI! I have a question,ibook g4 have DDR or DDR2 ?

  • DDR

  • aha,thanks ;)

  • My friend has a G4 ibook with just a 40 GB HD (ATA-100). Upgrading the RAM is simple. But, it appears that her HD is an EIDE, not S-ATA. Was yours also EIDE? If so, where did you buy the 250 GB HD? She has OS X 10.4.x I see that you got Leopard to work. How much did the upgrade cost? Who was you supplier? Thank you so much for your input!

  • You "can" even install it on a iMac G3 333 Mhz (actually, I "could" do it to mine but even os classic 9.2.2 is really slow.. so that's not cool to me =( )..

But impressive, I'd like to get an old iBook! =( Hmm unfortunately here in Germany they are still VERY expensive!

  • can you put leopard on the g3

  • if you dont mind lag, then use Xfacto

  • HELL NO

  • no, i think you need at least a 900mhz g4

  • Yeah, any PowerPC and Intel Mac.

  • no you cant unless you put a g4 processor in it..

  • No You Can't

  • @lucasbutris7 hell no!!

  • How would Tiger run at 579MB of RAM and 500Mhz processor?

  • Pretty well. I would upgrade the RAM to maybe a 1GB, but even with 500megs it runs fine.

  • i ran tiger on a black power book g3 with 512 ram and a 500mhz processor

  • no classic support at all on ppc macs too

  • i bought i G3 (it looks the same as the G4) and i thought you could install leopard on it but then when i got it i found out you cant you need a G4 processor over 856Mhz and mine is a G3 processor with 700Mhz so im going to buy a logic board off ebay for £135 which has a G4 processor with 1200Mhz which is powerful and im going to buy 1Gb Ram as well so i can get leopard on it but im a bit nerves striping my mac down to the logic board because im not sure on how to do it but i can have a go :D

  • I don't think that would work. While the iBook (Dual USB) and the iBook G4 look the same, the internal frame is different.

  • thejon128 is right you`ll need a g4 bottom casing (even the plastics fit differently than the G3) and a G4 ibook inverter cable (inverter is the part that lights up the display, the part itself is the same as the G3 but the cable that goes from it to the motherboard is different). i`ve done the same thing when my G3 ibook motherboard died and it worked.

  • WEll its very simple to edit photos get photoshop cs2 or cs1 best running wiht ppc, and there, my friend did all the time until he got his imac g4 with only 15" but hell it works

  • how much iut cost

  • can you do this on a g3

  • thank you!!
