@KatiushaVN4 the only reason the U.S lost in Vietnam is because they were ill equipped. their congress didn't give the soldiers the funding needed, and they also didn't receive the training required to fight Gorilla warfare in the middle of a jungle. And France lost because they are just a bunch a wusses, but thats a different story ;)

That was the first war to be televised, uncensored, and one of the first wars on the history of the United States that didn't have most of the backing by the people. I am not saying the United states was poor, I am saying they failed to adequately fund the war. Had they thought it out better, they wouldn't have lost, and if they did, by not such a large margin

Your poor excuse not seems to work. At that time, U.S. Armed Force were much well-equipped compared to Vietnam's Army. U.S Armed Force spent at least 500,000 USD / day. Much much more than Vietnam as well. U.S Armed Force had F-105, F-4 which were the best air-crafts at that time. They also had B-52 which was considered as "B-2" now.
Not to mention air-craft carrier, warships, etc.
