I was on scene when it went down with the media It did actually go down and it wasn't a model i assure you! I was down on the shoreline with a better view then the media had in the museum parking lot. Felt the shock from the blast and got some unbelievable sound recording of the blast vibrations traveling through the water moving the ice. very erie (Parking lot people you missed out on ALOT) Ive lived in CP all my life sad to see it go everyone was attached to its rich history, but it was a must

well that would have been awesome but it wouldn't have worked there timing was HORRIBLE! There was supposed to be a 5 min warning and a 1 min warning instead there was warnings at 10 minutes on NY side then VT then at 5 mins more sirens goin off on both sides and then again at 2 mins and at the 1 min mark sirens were going off everywhere and about 15 seconds later it went down, most people on scene didn't get any photo graphs or video b/c the timing was wrong and misleading. Luckily I was ready!

The bridge was demolished in winter because it was an emergency. They cannot waste any time in getting it down and building a new one, the bridge is vital to the economy of the area and thousands of people have been severely affected by it being abruptly condemned back in October. It's just another example of NEW YORK STATE incompetence! (they were responsible for bridge maintenance!)

and very SAD because it was a beautiful and historic bridge dedicated by FDR.
