To sustain an invasion, boots on the ground, Congressional approval was needed back then. And the House Armed Services chairman Floyd Spence never scheduled a hearing on the matter. Ok, Aprilmax, let me set the record straight. Cheney got his first deferment as a student. After it was approved, he dropped out of college. He got his second one after he re-enrolled. This time, he stayed in and failed every course. The third was for being a newlywed, after a TWO WEEK courtship. Number four and five were for being a father. I have no issue with anyone not wanting to serve, it's not for everyone. I have big issues with draft dodgers playing general. Big difference.

Cheney makes a good case for a bad policy.
The fatal assumption of his argument is that the US is better off trying to control the Middle East with force. Once that assumption is made, his strategy is sound. However, the blowback from violent engagement with a region dominated by xenophobic, fundamentalist governments is far more costly than sound strategy could possibly overcome.
Cheney assumes a static Middle East that will neither recognize our manipulation or resent it.

A recent Gallup poll said that 45% of Americans would be glad to have the Bush Crime Family back to rape the country some more. Apparently Bush would have had to have his way Barney on the White House lawn (or have consensual sex with his intern) to actually upset the completely brain-dead half of the citizens in this sad country.
After hearing that statistic, I'm afraid I've finally lost hope, Hope.

not really, I think the reason Cheney or Bush wont be charged is because it just wouldn't be right for a sitting president to go after a former one. it would be a disgrace and if I was a sitting president I would just stall and stall until I left office which is what I think O will do.
