Can this car really be driven every day, like in the rain also? Wet weather wouldn't hurt the remote mounted turbos are water making it to the engine?
Turbos are very forgiving compared to superchargers. A supercharger will always make a high level of boost depending on the type and always take away some power from the engine and make it lose efficiency and gas mileage. Turbos are only spooled up when you get on the throttle. Its all based on your RPM you are running at and your input. Since they are running off exhaust gas they improve the efficiency of the engine and gain gas mileage... if you keep your foot out of it.
LSXs are 364 cubic inches to 511 cubic inches. Its a cast iron racing block good up to 2500 hp. I fall in love with this car every time ive seen it. You wouldnt know it had so much power just by looking at it and hearing it.
Where do the turbos pull in air?? At the rear or is there piping running to the front? The car is a killer stock looking setup, but it would be really cool if there were functional ducts behind each door (corvette style) that served to feed the turbo intake. Roll the windows down and hear the spool!
@vendediesel Go to my blog Turbo Connection Racing News theres pictures there. I also have every step of the build on LS1GTO forum. Just do a search for 427 APS twin turbo Jim4817. BTW my logged inlet air temps are never greater than 9 degrees above ambient at 25 psi boost.
@StangThang07 It took a few years to do the custom rear kit. Teh car evolved form stock ls2 with procharger where it cranked out an impressive 731 SAE RWHP to APS twin turbo to what you see here. I dont even what to think about how much this all cost. there way a lot of changes I made along the way to get where I am and right now I ahve more planed such as Callies Magnum crank and billet rods along with a cam that has that muscle car sound. My new goals are 1500 RWHP DD 1800 RWHP track.
@idontknow5858 If STS offered this I would have gladly purchased it directly from them and saved myself the hundreds of hours fabrication time. I built everything myself. Theres pictures on our blog Turbo Connection Racing News and the whole turn by turn fabrication of this car on LS1GTO just do a search for Jim4817 427 APS Twin Turbo in the tuning section. Engine Builder Magazine cover Car Sept 2008 with APS twin kit back then theres a link to article that LS1GTO thread.
@CharloRVP Thanks man a lot of hard work and planning went into this project! I made 1320 rwhp approximately one week after shooting this video. Its apart now due to a freak occurance with the high dollar tool steel valve spring retainers pulling through the keepers. i am in negotiation with the manufacturer to reimburse us for the damages. New goals when it goes back together is 1500 rwhp daily driver with 1800 MAX rwhp for the track.

@vendediesel No Dom, those vents behind the door on the Z06 vette's are cooling ducts for the brakes.
