Plants' air cleaning ability are way overrated. They only "breathe" a tiny amount of air per day (a few cubic centimeters). If your air is dirty, open the window!
No negativity - simply stating biological facts: Plants have a very small respiration rate. In other words, they breathe very little air. If your outdoor air is dirty, using a good air filter will provide MUCH more noticeable benefits than a few houseplants. A high-flow HEPA air filter with an ionizer gives good results. That's why hospitals use HEPA filters and not plants.
@Cherimoya9 NASA has completed multiple studies found that plants do clean air efficiently. The problem with "high-flow" filters are that they run on electricity. When you make electricity you create pollutants elsewhere

@Cherimoya9 That's a horribly negative comment, and it does help. What if they live in the city genius the window will pollute further!!
