I'm working on this song nowadays! That's a real great cover u did there! This song seems easy, but of course is so dfficult to make it SOUND well from start to the end! Did you retune your guitar? It seems it's not a real A you're starting on.. Well, not everybody can sing this song at the real tone.. I can't! I sing it an octav below.. But then have not a real power in my vocals..

Dude, you're holding your voice back waaaaay too much. You gotta cut your voice loose in blues if you want it to sound like blues. Listen very closely to SRV's recording again. He sounds like he really means it without trying because he lived it. And you're worried too much about playing it "right" verses playing it playing it. Cut loose brother and your version will improve 100 fold.

Thanks! It's a Guild F412 with maple back and sides. I believe it is the same model that SRV used, although the new ones like mine are now made in Tacoma, WA rather than in Rhode Island. The quality and sound seem great to me, but I've never compared it to one of the older ones.

New it will run you ~$2,000, but you might be able to find them used as well for less. Mine does not have the DTAR electronics - it looks bad in my opinion, and I would rather mic the guitar anyway!
