  • Just heard of these dudes by clicking the video by accident. Really happy accident.

  • Just ordered all 3 albums! Can't wait to rock out with my cock out

  • Yeees.Like this old school melodic death.Lucky to find you

  • pretty sick band wish the vocalist would do some guttural shit at parts

  • Best song on album, why i'm discovered this video so late?

  • Why the FUCK haven't I heard this before? Sick shit, man.

  • GRAAAAWWW!!! I love this one.

  • metal NEEDS more shirtless dudes.

  • saw rhem live, they played this, pretty cool

  • They are sooo similar to At the Gates... that is good!!! Next week i'm gonna see them with opening for Black Dahlia Murder and Amon Amarth... really good supporting band!

  • I'm quite glad I didn't hear this song for the first time while driving. There would have been a 50 car pileup (i'm estimating) followed by the biggest mosh pit in history.

  • Nice. Want to hear this live!

  • MORE COWBELL

  • This would be even more awesome with some Michael Åkerfeldt or Johan Hegg in it :) But then again, lot's of things would be........

  • they sound alot like Rotting Christ

  • @Muddrum666

You mean the old Rotting Christ, I guess?!

  • @ovd806 The old Rotting Christ is the only Rotting Christ in my book =] these guys are indeed good to

  • @Muddrum666 rotting christ? xDDD they are black metal men (in the past), evocation is death metal.

  • @neoxx07 Don't Matter what label u put them under. The music sounds very similar.

  • Seems Like They Should Be A Black Metal Band

  • @Mythification Vocalist Sounds Almost Exactly Like Shagrath From Dimmu Borgir, + I Think Every band that has the ability should be black metal lol

  • @xXRandallxRemorseXx I do not want to be rude but you don´t know much about extreme metal music do you?

It is not the vocals that determined what kind of music a band are playing and high pitch growls (or grims as we call it over here when it deals with Black Metal) are not reserved for Black Metal only. Ever heard of Melodic Death Metal? Even though sounds wise Evocation sounds more similar too the old school Stockholm Death Metal scene did back in the golden years.

  • @Mythification i Can't Help That The Vocals Remind Me of Some Epic Black Metal, I Am Aware That Black Metal Doesn't Own Any Sort of Vocal Style Nor Does Any Genre Really, I Wasn't Trying to Convince Anyone that They should or should not be a black metal band, rather just claiming that i Think it would be cool if they were, Thanks For Your Input Tho

  • Video is a bit lacklustre... music is good though.

  • \m/

  • This is good. A much better sound than the other boring cookie cutter bands whom make me want to vomit all over their crappy sound

  • love this sound! very good!

  • Kinda boring musicvideo if you ask me, they need more Patric Ullaeus :P

  • cool song

  • evocation??? wtf ...just r- ( revocation) Clever guy who think that name...lol

  • @aristarlight Evocation-an act or instance of evoking; a calling forth: the evocation of old memories.

And these guys have been around waaaaaaaaay longer than revocation

  • @metalconnection666 Correct. Evocation has been around since 1991.

  • I just don't like that kind of metal cuz of the voice of the singers

  • It's a sad state of affairs when no one recognizes Evocation, one of melodic death metal's greatest pioneer bands.

  • Woah! My mind was just blown away

  • I love it.

  • "I like to whip my hair back and forth"

  • hell to the yes \\m// (^_^) \\m//

  • Ok, I am going to clear up alot of the misinformation in these comments about evocations influences. First off, they are not influenced by trivium, you'd have to half deaf to think this, it's not blatant at the gates worship and finally, they are not new.

Evocation formed in 1991, one year after at the gates, they were at the start of the Gotthenberg death metal scene and have been one of the major influences on a lot of modern melodic death metal.acts.

    Seriously kids, fact check.

  • great sound. but the vid? shot in a dark cellar, room for banging only for one guy, the rest has to back off so the camera fits in there... XD

  • can i haz drum kit?

  • mega like!

  • Sounds like Devildriver meets arch enemy, awesome!

  • Trivium influence I think...

  • @labizzarerie Where the hell do you hear trivium influence ;o ?

  • @ajaeiful At beginning but It's just my mind ;)

  • I don't even care if this is blatant At The Gates worship, this is what we NEED in modern metal. Tell me, would you rather listen to this or some shitty deathcore band?? You can't go wrong with a classic sound like this.

  • @crazytacoburger Hell yea!

  • Not too bad. It has been done before but it's still a solid performance.

  • I liked it.

  • Six Feet Under + Hatebreed = Evocation

  • it needs more lows

  • Comment removed

  • At The Gates worship, nothing more. Sounds good, but it was played some 20 years ago.

  • was amazing then he started the vocals :/

  • (insert newbie kid generic hate comment here)

  • vocals.....fail

  • Not bad.

  • Pretty Good! \m/ yeah do sound like early at the gates!

  • LONG LIVE METALBLADERECORDS!

  • more cowbell.

  • @k00lguy80 screw the cowbell, we need more triangle!

  • @k00lguy80 You are right if the producer had only realized what cowbell can do for a death metal band LOL

  • NIce old school Carcass-style feel and sound. Kicks ass!

  • Yes.

  • I actually thought it was just ok. The vocals could stand to be less monotone, IMO. Not terrible, though.

  • that melodic feel is cool

  • The tone has the classic At the gates/Carcass feel to it. This sounds really melodic and oldschool if you ask me, which is pretty cool!! I'm a little tired of the 300bpm bands, they can sound somewhat the same.

  • @Thetruthinall Thanks for mentioning AT the Gates and Carcass! you're right :D

  • @Thetruthinall Basically just picking up where At the Gates left with Slaughter of the Soul. I was slightly disappointed with Apocalyptic (not that its a bad album at all) due to having such high expectations after Dead Calm Chaos. I agree with you about 300 bpm bands, its just shame theres not much of a market for melodic death metal anymore.

  • sounds a bit like at the gates

  • wow this is really good!

  • good but nothing new but still good

  • Now that is a sexy slice of Swedish death metal perfection

  • some very heavy riffs there..good stuff!

  • good shit, the vocals take some getting use to, but good stuff.

  • @tango616 | They sound a lot like Satyricon...maybe?

  • @marcoantoniomirandar agreed, it's a little less ballsy, and raspy then what I listen to or prefer, but none the less, he's good, all of this is.

  • wow lame

  • Yet another song that vocalist ruins.

  • It was pretty good, not a huge fan of the vocals and yo....Iron Maidenesque cymbal set up was hilarious.

  • smells like at the gates

    tastes like slipknot

    ewww

  • Omigod, the rhythm just makes me want to fucking mosh. I'm like in love!

  • Flipin Metal, Good sound and vocal, Strong, thats what metal band's need to find again, "Thats the Shit, I be Lookin For"

  • DAMN!!!!

  • What a great band.
