this custom ordered stall (torque) convertor is only a couple hundred above stock, prob not even necessary, but in case the crane racing cam makes it lope a little, it will sit comfortably at idle without tryin to take off til you rev it up to 1200-1400 rpm....is what I'm told...no expert here, for sure....
in automatic transmission...the torque convertor, normally engages and moves the car at about 1000 rpm...so when you have a lopey cam in a motor, that needs a little higher idle speed, a higher stall than normal, would delay the transmission engaging for a few hundred rpm so the car sits at the stop sign without trying to take off as the car idles/lopes...race cars such as dragstrip cars might have a much higher stall speed built into the torque convertor, as high as 3000 rpm or more...
