  • Really liked this one. The title is so appropriate. Just about a bodyguard who dreamed and made a decision he wouldn't have otherwise. Throughout the beatings, torture, and murder, there is always the sweet thought of what may have been.

  • is this on netflix ?????

  • loooove lee byung hun, or me, is the best korean actor, i was his fan since i was six years, and I'm not kidding. SINCE SIX!!!!!!

    LOVEEEEEE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he's the no.1 in my heart.

  • hey bro were i can watch this movie online with sub titile

  • does anyone know wht is the name of the music from 0:56

  • who's that guy with the gun at the end anyway? his role was pointless. why was there so much focus on him?

  • @DQ15 the dude is a brother of goofy gun dealer who byung hun had killed. he tracked byun hyun down after picking up a business card that byun hyun left behind at the office. point of him being there shows no matter how bad mofo byung hyun might be there is always going to be some one who is better.

  • One of the best imho in korean.

  • Hollywood??? don't make me laugh! Transformers 3??? what's wrong with you? I hope you're just kidding...

  • @pilleridaho Transformers 3 was Fuckin Awesome. Check yoself befoe you wreck yoself!

  • Geez. I might be addicted with this kind of films after watching oldboy.

  • i want Eric Moon's coat, that thing is badass!! and so is this movie!!

  • Pretty good trailer, I didn't understand shit but pretty good trailer ;)

  • Fantastic. A mesmerising epic of a movie.

Kim Sunwoo - A magnificent character.

    Bravo indeed .

  • Damn this director has made some fantastic films, Bittersweet Life, The Good The Bad The Weird, and I Saw The Devil. Wasn't a huge fan of Tale of Two Sisters though. Out of pure bias though. Just not into Grudge-ish or juon-ish fimls.

  • i watched it so many times yet i feel fresh for the next watch !!! its strange to to see complete dichotomy i.e poetic visuals with action .......amazing

  • i watched it more than 100 times still i feel fresh for the next watch ... its very rare to see a dichotomy of poetic and violence in one film ........kudos to kim ji woon ............ symphony at the end of this film is so haunting !!!!!!!

  • everything hollywood is trying to be

  • Can't wait until I Saw The Devil comes out in the UK!

  • What's the name of the song beginning at 0:54? I can't find it on the soundtrack album...4 me it's the best song of the movie, with "romance" of course!

  • @sepehrjandaghi it's Taro Hakase - Main Theme

  • @papachulu THANK U! this song has an amazing effect on my brain...thank u again dude!

  • @papachulu

I downloaded a whole album for Taro Hakase but it's not the track titled "Main Theme". Can you provide us with a link or an album title that has this piece, thanks :)

  • @mhelabd yeah what song is it?

  • @dewdr0p

it was not on the album at all. Although it had a track called "Main Theme", unfortunately it wasn't it either.

  • @mhelabd people dont explain themelves - __ -;; the track is from Taro Hakase - the wandering princess OST, and of course the title is MAIN THEME ^^

  • @dewdr0p

Thanks a bunch, got it :)

  • @sepehrjandaghi the track is from Taro Hakase - the wandering princess OST, and of course the title is MAIN THEME

  • one of the best movie evr seen

  • awesom movie

  • 5*s

  • awarapn is the hindi version

  • I don't get it - how is this getting mixed reviews from people. I just finished watching it 15 minutes ago...I feel terrible that I had to view this 5 years late. I should have seen this in theaters if it did come to theaters - because it's damn BADASS, POETIC, and BITTERSWEET.

Oh gosh...I loved the beginning and ending of it - those two poetic lines, meant so much throughout the movie. The emotions portrayed by the characters felt so real and human.

Once again Asia beats Hollywood BS.

  • @shadowpal2 you make me wanna see it

  • @shadowpal2 asialand beats usa? i dont think so terrorist. besides did you see transformers 3 MOTY

  • @thedicksqueez You sound like a redneck whiteboy that's at least 13 years old.

  • @rburst and you sound like a liberal commie college student. we dont take to kindly to u folks round here. u try comin down here to alabama and well gut ya before you cross the border ya chicken shit kid

    #sarapalin #deathtoOboma

  • @thedicksqueez If that's a parody of a clichee: very funny, if not: damn you scary, hillbilly...

  • @shadowpal2 Also, in the beginning he was eating a dessert and in the end he was drinking an espresso which summarized the title in just two scenes. Such a brilliant movie! Loved it!

  • @shadowpal2 I agree with you totally lol

  • Loved the movie!

  • I am agree with anarchydance what a pity this title with violins is not in OST!!!

  • anyone can tell my where can i found this movie in eng sub please

  • @rajanajar44 youtube

  • Does anyone know where to get the music playing in the trailer starting at 0:55 or even its title? It is not in the soundtrack.

  • where can i watch this?

    like the website

  • love this show.. watching again right now.....

  • @chiragatronacious Oldboy 2003

    Zinda 2006

    Bittersweet life 2005

    awarapan 2007

    Shame on you.

  • You crazy? This is the original.

  • Anyone know where i can see this online??? Really wanna see lee byung hun!!

  • @chiragatronacious...awarapan is a remake of this movie...this one released in 2005...awarapan released 2007...both are awesome...luv from delhi

  • Awesome movie this is.....Watch "Memories of murder", "The Chaser" and "Oldboy" also.......Korean Movies are the best......btw am from India :)

  • I dont get the ending. was it all a dream?

  • @FoolishInTheEnd no it wasnt a dream

  • @chiragatronacious

    Fuck you. thats not true.

  • @chiragatronacious Do your research first before making yourself look like an idiot. Awarapan was a re-make of the Korean movie. Bittersweet Life came out in 2005 whereas Awarapan came out in 2007. Does that make hindi people "talentless"? Hope not... people remake films all the time.

  • anyone know where i can watch this online?

  • What does it mean that you are white? What is this need to state the colour of your skin. Besides, we are discussing a great movie not debating colour issues. PS I think Asian men are really really really sexy.

  • Is this on DVD n the us?

  • @TheRealVinnySharp Yeah, try Amazon

  • Is this on DVD?

  • I love love love this movie.

  • One of the best movies I've seen, this and Old Boy are just incredible!

  • a good film, i'm still not sure how i feel about it because it's extremely poetic, maybe to an extreme, still worth it definitely.

  • did anybody see The Samourai with Alain Delon? A Bittersweet Life has quite a similar tone, and many similarities story-wise. Also, the main actor is gorgeous in both cases

  • For everyone who's searching for the song that starts at 0:55.Go to google and search Taro Hakase-Main Theme and click on the 6th link (Taro Hakase - The Wandering Princess OST (2003) | New Age Paradise). In there you will find a rapidshare link and you can download the ost which has the song in this trailer everyone's been wanting.Enjoy

  • Every single video on youtube has an argument going on.

  • Brilliant Film, True masterpiece aswell as A TALE OF TWO SISTERS. The director (Ji-woon Kim) is truely brilliant also (dare I say rivals Chan-wook Park), Just hope a remake never made by hollywood. Byung-hun Lee awsome Korean actor, JSA good preformance aswell.

  • i actually like asian movies better than hollywood movies because they can make it more interesting and on the edge. You can never predict how the movies are gonna go or what will happen next which is a refreshing change. WHOO TO ASIAN FILMS haha

  • @Jayblitz2726 You're right especially in this movie, the end is absolutely stunning. l mean who would have thought that it was only.... (SPOILER ALERT) Woo, that was too close. Poeple who read this comment, watch this movie, you won't regret it.

  • @Heroinedown I agree totally its such a good movie

  • @Jayblitz2726

What I came to appreciate about Asian movies is the acting: I'm quite sick of hollywood-style over-the-top performances, what they convey is not real human emotions, it's all so artificial; Asian actors haven't adopted it yet and I hope they never will.

Then again, I might be wrong, I haven't watched that many but this is my first impression

  • @tahhana86 I agree again haha. i do see that they really put their all into it. Only few hollywood actors do that now its quite sad really

  • @Satisfiedsquall

Respect cannot be bought, if you want people to respect you, respect others.....Why hate all filipinos when only one committed one mistake. Is your fellow Canadians perfect??? We never hated anyone, so why hate???

BTW, filipinos are not korean wannabes, they just simply love different races especially Koreans....

  • @Satisfiedsquall

Dude, get a grip of yourself. That was so mean..I'm Spanish but I grew half of my life in the Philippines. And I must say, I loved it there..Filipinos commit mistakes but that doesn't mean ones mistake is everybody's mistake. They're undergoing poverty and this is what you give..I pity you not because you commented like that towards innocent people but I pity because you don't seem to know the value of humanity.

  • @Satisfiedsquall you fucking racist! get the fuck off. you have no place in this world dumbass. look at yourself first in the mirror, the way you talk, it seems you are the real "ugly monkey". idiot lol!

  • what's the song starting at 0:52? I listened to the ost and I don't think it was in there.

  • @Satisfiedsquall Wow...im korean but..your a disgrace for saying this racist shit. go wash your mouth with soap til it bleeds you piece of trash. there is no race better than another, its people like you who we dont need on this planet.

  • ANYONE KNOW THE THEME FROM 0:55?

  • Once In A Summer, 2006

  • I really love this movie. Like all things in this movie.

Actors, directors, ost .... Everything's good.

Lee is not just an action star.

    I like his subtle acting.

    Joint Security Area, 2000

The Harmonium In My Memory, 1999

Bungee Jumping Of Their Own, 2000

The Good The Bad The Weird, 2008

  • I think..

This is the greatest thriller ever filmed,

    cold-emotional, violent, calm..

Could be clamed as even one of the greatest films.

    Greatest film of Asian Filmography.

  • what is the song called?

  • Just finished watching this. F'ing good movie!

  • Great actors. Great director. Great movie.

  • well then im sorry for that but i found some of them who was really rude as well. i mean it for the particuler people from philippines not all of them, of course we really do approciate that they like so much about korean,.

  • wow its like IRIS

  • such a powerful trailer. i get the chills when the strings kick in at 0:55

  • Great film. It's good that the lead character has a part in G.I. Joe. 'And what was your plan? To run across 3,000 miles of frozen ice? Stupid soldier.'

  • Can anybody tell me if the piece that starts at 0:55 appears in the movie? I know that it's not on the OST, but maybe they used it though... would be great if some-one knew it! :)

  • it's not in the movie either.

  • directer kim has tried noir film of asia style. i found out interesting with this film because this kind of genre film was not used to made. and i love the sound track and many sentences from movie, and visual art. everything is so nice...

  • what the hell you know about korea? you are such a poverty countrey philippines, what a pity boy is here... i have been to philippines as weell to see full of monkey, even though they like korean so much, we ignore monkey family :)

  • I'm from America. I lived in Korea for 18 months, Japan for 2 years, Philippines for a while. I like to travel. I'm also half Korean by blood. The rest of your comment I don't really understand, sorry. You need to learn the language better.

  • tangna mu hayupf! di ka namin kailangan dito sa pilipinas! pupunta-punta kayo dito tas lalaitin niyo bansa namin! TANGNANG YAN! monkey? kung monkey kami.... isa ka namang masahol na hayup!

  • Excuse me, I find your comment very rude. If you say that you ignore 'monkey family', then why did you reply to ephesus' comment?

Also, if you're going to insult my country like that, then you might as well explain to me why there are a lot of Koreans studying and working here. Oh, and please, if you're going to post comments on the Internet, you might as well make sure that your grammar is correct.

  • kc kaw ba yan? nicee =D

  • No, you're just one person who is wrong. So don't worry too much about your incorrect opinion. Obviously if it was true, there wouldn't be so much Korean Wannabes out there. Besides, i know much more about Korea then you. But definately interesting different opinion. Good try.

  • Opinions can not, by definition, be wrong. That's why they're called opinions.

Furthermore, i'm definitely (there are no 'a's in definitely) not the only person. Seoul was on lonely planet's travelers' top 3 most disappointing cities. Described "Its an appallingly repetitive sprawl of freeways and Soviet-style concrete apartment buildings, horribly polluted, with no heart or spirit to it. So oppressively bland that the populace is driven to alcoholism."

  • Why can't everyone keep their negative opinions to themselves?

  • the president is the same person names baek san in iris...ehehehe.

  • Can anyone put up a link where to watch this movie plz?

  • approve my vid al ready bro dont tase me

  • I really enjoyed this movie, however, not as tragic as Oldboy.

  • who thinks that is his best movie?

    or has another fav?

  • Comment removed

  • does anyone know the track playing in this trailer?

it's not available on the OST

  • When I watched for the first time, I thought it's ok movie ... but now this movie is one of my favourite movie. I like the last dialog between the teacher and student, very very meaningful.

  • great, great movie... i have a huge collection of korean movies but this one beats them all. so stylish, so polished, just perfect.

  • man i love his voice *_* i wish i had a voice like his T_T btw THIS IS MY FAVOURITE MOVIE !!! so much emotion.....

    Memories of Murder

    Sympathy for Mr Vengeance

And then you have all the amazing martial arts movies from Hong Kong and animation from Japan

I guess 'Thirst' and 'Departure' are good too but I haven't seen it yet.

  • battle royale, triad election
