  • Although I have not seen the full film yet, I am excited to after watching the trailer and the clips. I want to see how their lifestyle and migration affects their education. I enjoy the fact that their education is blended with their responsibilities; "hard work is their way of life."

  • This is a breathtaking video that catches the viewers attention right away. Learning about a unique Bakhtiari culture is motivating to all that see this through their hard work and dedication. What beautiful land, animals and people make up this great and inspiring video about the Baktairi culture.

  • This looks great professor! I am really looking forward to watching this. It seems like something that I can learn a lot from, especially since they seem to live so different from us!

  • "Bakhtiari Alphabet" screening in New York at Zero Film Festival. Sunday, Nov 14, 2010 form 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM.

  • I am looking forward to viewing the video so I can see a different kind of life than that of what I live. The form of a documentary is to show a group of people something that they would not otherwise have been able to see, I believe that this film will do that well. Also, the cinematography seems to capture the beauty of nature.

  • Long live all persians!

  • @persiandudeee Look at their culture, they are not persian, they are among the kurdish family by gentical evidences, They have kurdish blood with 100%

They are kurdish, not persian! They using kurdish culture!

  • @1Azadman wtf are you on about? they speak a Persian dialect related to Middle-Persian Pahlavi, they are nomadic Persians. There is no such thing as Kurdish blood, every Iranic person has the same blood from persians, to Pashtuns, to kurds to Ossetians. Further more, this is how Persians lived before they settled down, there are still Persians living like this in tajikestan.

  • @persiandudeee Kurds existed long before persians!! Kurds was first civilisated people with their ancestor Gutians. Gutians are descendant of sumerians! The Gutians kings had sumerians name! Gutians used nomadic people in Zagros mountain before persians existed! SUmerians are kurds ancestor and even elamites are kurds ancestors too! Today kurds are mixed people. Kurdish ancestors becamed mixed with each other. No one of the kurdish ancestor were semitic people!

  • @1Azadman You are fucking retarded beyond belief. Stop claiming shit that's not yours, jesus, you sound worse than the pan-turks.

  • @persiandudeee Sumerians established worlds first civilisation in land of Sumer and the Gutians civilisations. Gutians was created by sumerians!

The elamites was sumerians related, not india related!

Elamites are ancestor to kurds. What Im talking about is evidences wich is foudned by archeologists! Kurds are a mixed people with Sumerians/Gutians, corduene, elamites, medes, hurrians, kyrtians, manneans, meitanni and meitiene !

Persians and assyrians was in conflict agaisnt kurds ancestors!

  • @1Azadman you try so hard to get Kurds to be acknowledged.. That is not going to work by spreading propaganda and false history.. You say Kurds Kurds Kurds all the time while the truth is very simple-

First there were my ancestors the Aryans whom lived for the Aryan unity.. Their legacy and heritage is still present in culture.. These countries from north india to bosnia is IRANICIZED.. do you understand what that means??

  • @BEYADEHVATAN Go to hell you azeri turk!!!!!!

  • Thank you for introducing us to these amazing people. Their story is incredible and the scenery was breathtaking.

  • This is truly an amazing film filled with stunning scenery and thought provoking images of a remarkable group of people. All too often we forget our past as we make strides toward the future, and the Bakhtiari show the inherent value and wisdom in celebrating one's heritage.

  • This is a very interesting and well done documentary. I recommend it to all those interested in taking a closer look at indigenous culture in Iran.

  • I was born in charmahal bakhtiari but live in the uk now. Ive been to my birthplace several times and its the most beautifulo place ive ever been to. Cant wait to see this movie!

  • This is an amazing group of people. The land is beautiful and we have the opportunity to see it! I hope everyone gets to see this documentary and will get to see what would otherwise be little known about this community of people.

  • This trailer really encourages me to go and see the entire film. To see a culture of people so different from my own is eye opening - and I'm very curious to learn more. It's wonderful there are people who put such hard work and dedication into exploring other cultures such as this and publishing their work for all to see and learn from. Thank you!

  • At times like these - especially given international political tensions - this docuementary is timely. Beyond the beautiful Iranian landscape, this is a film documenting a hard working, indigenous people of Iran and even given their nomadic culture - that culture does not ignore the value of education nor the impact of education relative to the future survival of the tribe. The documentary is worthwhile to view - if at the least, in respect for a respectable people.

  • Bakhtiaries are a Branch of Kurds ( Mede).

The day will come when Kurds, laks and bakhtairies will have their own state seperated and independent to our enemies ( MF farsi sheats ).

  • I can't wait to see this film. The movie will be shown on February 14th at 4 PM. Location will be at Double Tree Hotel in Richardson, Texas (Corner of Central Expressway and Campbell Rd). Addmission is free

  • And never forget as the Bakhtairies self never like it :

Bkhtiaries have been and will remain always one of the Kurdis( Mede) tribes .

We will let nobody on this earth to deny or confusing our national identity !

It is a big lie of our enemies ( corrupt and inferior Farsis) that illegaly and of course

in conspiracy some times claim any nonsense !

our language is one of the kurdish dialects and other kurdish tribes are our Blood brothers.

Long live all mede tribes !

    Biji Bakhtairy-Kurds

  • The trailers (all of them!) have captured my attention! I can't wait to see the entire film and learn about the education system this nomadic tribe has.

  • This trailer is great, just as the overall movie is. It really captured the culture and education of the Bakhtiari tribe. It's a great educational opportunity.

  • This was a really compelling trailer. I think that watching it will definitely make people want to watch the actual documentary. It does a great job of depicting the lifestyle of the Bakhtiari.

  • This was an experience worth receiving by watching this documentary. The film was good overall and a lot of effort was put into creating it. If your work continues, keep going at it.

  • Watching this trailer brought back memories of viewing the outstanding documentary at Sacred Heart University weeks ago. Like the film, the trailer is compelling and inspiring. It was very interesting to see how the bakhtiari tribe is educated and how their education is so different from America's. Thank you so much for creating this fantastic documentary! Excellent work!

  • I saw this documentary at Sacred Heart University recently and thought that it was an excellent film. You could tell that a lot of hard work was put into it.

  • This trailer does give a good implication about the fulll documentary. It engaged my interest very well. I had the pleasure of viewing the documentary at Sacred Heart University this Fall. It give incredibel insight into this amazing culture.

  • This was a great documentary! I really enjoyed watching it. The movie gives great insight into the culture. 5 Stars :)

  • I went to see this documentary at SHU when it was first premiered. It was a great show, very well put together and the journey shown by this tribe is phenomenal. You learn so much about a culture that one may never knew existed.

  • I really enjoyed the documentary and seeing how this tribe educates their people. i feel what made it so good was the fact that you were so dedicated to finding a way to make it better and your involvement with the tribe. the trailer is very appealing one thing that could help it though is if you add a voice with the music. The music selection was a great choice very upbeat.

  • The movie was great, very interesting look into the educational and way of life of this specific culture. the trailer itself is just a tip of the iceberg that is present in the documentary. Great work in promoting it, though it is better in reality then this snide bit.

  • I was lucky enough to have the change to view this documentary when it was shown at SHU! I was very intrigued with the lifestyle of the nomads and their customs! I encourage everyone to watch this documentary especially future educators! Great job Cima!

  • I believe this film will help in clearing up cultural misconceptions between the Middle East and the West. As

Fabbienne4444 had said, they showed the video to their young child, who will continue to watch it over and over..if this film is further promoted, it will help to develop a young generation that doesn't contain many of the cultural misconceptions and biases that exist today..Great Work!

  • This trailer really encompasses the key focuses that the movie has. I was able to view this film at SHU. I am very glad that I was able to see the whole film and the concepts in education in other cultures. Thank you for sharing your documentary. Great job!!

  • I really enjoyed the trailer of this movie. When viewing the film at SHU, it really gauged my interest in the different parts of the world of education. I would like to learn more about the Bakhtiari culture. Job well done Dr. Sedigh. You should be very proud.

  • I really liked the trailer for this film. I saw the movie before i saw the trailer and i believe that it is an accurate portayal of what the movie represents. The movie was very interesting and I learned a lot from it. It is so amazing how different other parts of the world are.

  • I was lucky enought to see this video at SHU a month ago. What a wonderful representation about a group of people that are slowly disappearing and that we do not know much about. We cannot begin to understand how they live, but this video is a beautiful piece about a tribe that lives so peacefully. Cima did a wonderful job. I highly recommend it!

  • I saw this documentary when it was shown at Sacred Heart a month ago and I must say that the trailer is a great portrayal of the film. Its a great film about nomadic life and it has excellent scenery shots as well as information about the education that they recieve. Defenitely worth watching.

  • Overall, I liked the trailer. After seeing the film, I think the trailer accurately represents the documentary as a whole. However, the text moved a little more quickly than I would have liked, but that's not a huge deal. It's good though.

  • This was a beautiful documentary that showed such a unique group of people and their nomadic lifestyle. I encourage all to view this film done by Dr. Cima Sedigh. Great film for educators especially.

  • I watched this film when it showed at SHU, and it is every bit as intriguing and exciting as it looks in this trailer. Cima spared no time or expense in bringing the life of the Bakhtiari into perspective for a whole new world. Like many in the audience, I would have never been aware of these traditional people and their incredible lifestyle if not for Cima's work. Thank you Cima! Your dedication is appreciated.

  • Wow... That was so good... I was really impressed... Thank you.

  • This documentary gives us a glimpse of what life is like in Iran, far different from how the US media portrays the country. I think this is a wonderful way to open our minds and see the people who live the nomadic lifestyle. What a beautiful project.

  • Beautiful imagery and moving documentary on the Bakhtiari people. Thoughtful exposition on the Education system's challenges, rewards and significance. Great for Educators, Travelors, Film Lovers and Cultural Enthusiasts!

  • I loved this film. It reminded me of something you would see on public television. Natural, beautiful, and worthwhile. I was captivated by all of it. I took the DVD home and showed it to my 1 year old. She loved it. She will watch it over and over.

  • Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Thank you, very beautiful
