It is similar to another composition called here comes the sun which had a modern swing beat worth a bit more work and more choir and it should sell.

I have never heard of "here comes the sun", so any similarity is purely accidental.

As for swing, not only is that not possible to do in the program in which I write, it is not something I would want to do.

As for more choir, I agree.

@1RadicalOne I have checked it out and the tune it reminds me of is by the Beatles and they have a version on You Tube . It is different enough to claim composers copyright I think. I would have a listen then you can avoid breaking copyright law best of luck.

When first writing the piece, how could I avoid copying/imitating a piece I had never heard of?

@1RadicalOne Get a good lawyer or join the song writers guild or something, hey its not bad to be composing as well as the Beatles. In the old days composers used to

call it it variations upon a theme.

Ah...I have never heard of this "guild", and as for lawyer, I can neither afford it nor am I likely to need it. I am incredibly obscure - the viewcount on this video can attest to that.
