Disagree. Proper and intelligent phrasing in German is vastly more important than the pronounciation. James King's pronounciation is not 100% perfect, yet he's one of my favorite Heldentenors. As is Vickers, who is one of the most intelligent post-war Wagner singers despite a relatively atrocious German pronounciation.
In Lieder a proper German pronounciation is much more important than in Wagner, I think.
