  • I <3 Calgary...it's my hometown :)

  • Famous for oil

  • i farted on the c train yesterday

  • Thumbs up if you love Calgary AB

  • The heart of the "New West" pumps dirty bitumen through it's tar coated money grabbing veins.

As a native Calgarian, I apologize to the rest of the country.

  • Brass monkey's in wintertime.

  • Beaultiful!! Thanks.

  • I <3 CALGARY I'M MEXICAN!

  • Greetings from Melbourne Australia. I was recently in your wonderful city and could not believe how clean and beautiful it is.

  • The best place ever! Would love to go back!!!!

  • I wish more attention had been put on other things, rather than just the stampede and downtown skyline. We have SO much park space and trails! Although there were honorable mention shots of other "touristy" things like Heritage park, the zoo, COP, and I think I saw Ft. Calgary.

  • I'm from wpg and I randomly stumbled upon this video. It makes me so sad! I've visited Calgary quite a few times and I miss it so much! I would love to move here!

  • There is MONEY to be made in Calgary. Jobs everywhere in many different fields. Come to Calgary if you want to be successful.

  • The skyline is different now with The Bow building (Encana headquarters) and Phaneuf plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs not the Flames.

  • Hello guys, i'm from Brasil and I'm searching for a city that i can finish my studies and live, but first I'm going to travel somewhere just for holidays, and I'm using this travel to search for a good city too. Someone mentioned me Calgary, but i'm worried, do you guys think it's complicated to get a job in IT? I'm not sure my English is that good too. Thank you.

  • @RoGVianna1

I can't speak for the economics of the IT field in Calgary, but being from Toronto I can tell you that an entry level position in IT would require a minimum of COMP TIA A+ certification, I think you can still do it online for a fee. Most people getting into IT here went to a community college of some sort, either here or abroad. Another common entryway is to be a computer science or engineering undergraduate. As for your English, move to a major city and you're fine.

  • im thinking about going to canada to get my MBA and maybe stay there if i can get a good job, do you think its hard for a graduate in international realtions to find a job in calgary? (that speaks 4 languages).

  • @medford44 Given a background in International relations I'd advise a more civil service oriented city, Calgary is a great city, but consider a provincial capital, then you can work with the government, if you speak French maybe even consider Ottawa (A touch bigger than Calgary, but due to height restricitons, and the hills you'd never guess it.) If you do speak French and are expecting to use it here the level of difference with our French is similar to that of Portuguese.

  • wonder how many millions of taxpayers dollars this cost to make

  • Great video , thanks for posting ! It makes me miss home !

  • all great during the FEW months of summer but most of the year its a frozen waste lant... sorry im from here, but you spend to much of the year stuckin inside cause of the cold

  • @nastylikenas27 Coming from someone who can't even spell the word wasteland....let alone realize that it is one word not two.....

  • @MissWooHoo1 yup... Its annoying

  • too cold.. keep going west until Vancouver.;))

  • thumbs up if you live in calgary and you love it!

  • I'm an American who was privileged to live in Calgary for 20 years. Watched it grow from 600,000 to 1million and just keep getting better. I would live there again in a heartbeat if I could. Calgary is an extraordinary city with great people, a wealth of things to do and it sits on the edge of the foothills with the mountains beckoning. I miss it everyday.

  • I don't know one born and bred Calgarian who prefers the million plus population and corresponding urban sprawl-mess of today, over how it was 'back in the day of 600,000 (late 80's).

  • @northbynorthleft Or even further back in the 60s. Back then the city was unique.

  • I just watched this video up to 2:15 minutes and every single person shown is Caucasian to that point. Is that on purpose? I don't think you can capture that in the "real" Calgary walking around with a camera. Who are we trying to attract? Neo-Nazis? KKK?

  • Al the alternatively coloured residents are too damn busy working multiple poor paying jobs to go 'elk watching' in Banff.

  • There is no other city on earth that Id rather live in. :D

  • @cprailes44ac That is so so true

  • @qwertyuiopasdfgh6055 Edmonton only wishes they were as awesome as us!! :D

  • Yeah, it's like a chunk of coal wishing that it was a diamond!

  • I currently live in Calgary, and am from another Western Province. Once this city gets rid of all those "homeless" street bums in its downtown core, most of whom I suspect are from Ontario, and whom intimidate and menace the general population as a sport day in and day out, that will be when this city is worth bragging about, and will live up to the claims it makes about itself.

Contrary to popular belief, I do not find this a "redneck cowboy town" but in fact find it quite liberal & soft.

  • @CanadaAuroraBorealis why homeless? is there not enough jobs there or what?

  • @afghans4eva It is my careful observation that 90% of the so-called "homeless" (a politically correct term) in Calgary are in fact a bunch of freeloaders, bums, crooks, crazys, and general low-lifes who do not know how, and more importantly do not want to, get a job, but are content to intimidate the multitudes of office workers in the downtown district as if they, "the homeless" own the area.

The Service Canada Computer Job Bank lists 1000 jobs of all types in Calgary on a daily basis.

  • Maybe the homeless are crazy - there's medication that can help relieve symptoms of mental illness. Unfortunately, there is no cure for being a retard - good thing you live in Calgary where you fit right in, Asscrackistan4eva!

  • What baloney! Dude, you are sad and stupid! Why didn't your parents let you go to school while u were growing up? I hope one of your caregivers will read this letter to you one day - on a good day- so you won't poop your pants and then smear it all around your room!.

  • @northbynorthleft Your comments are typical of those of a hard line self centered haughty snotty left wing psychopath, with a crackpot shit smeared social agenda. Why don't you go shit your pants and then smear it all over your face, and in your mouth and nose preferably, so your parents won't have to do it for you as they did when you were growing up, and you are still trying to clear the shit out by spitting out shit and blowing the shit out of your nose all over Youtube comment pages

  • @CanadaAuroraBorealis i agree northbynorthleft is a total nutcase

  • Depends on what angle, I guess.... but the Calgary Tower is not the tallest structure in downtown. Anything But to be honest.

  • Go flames

  • do many rich people live in calgary?

  • Wildshotsintheair, U do relize most of the people watching this vid r from Calgary or like it sure it's not the greatest city and I live here but it doesn't suck

  • 0:17 --- my windows 7 desktop :D

  • Calgary is so much better than edmononton. THeirs less crime, more buisness advantages and much more entertainment. What does edmonton have? They have a kick ass mall.

    Thats all.

  • hey guys I have one question. I am in automotive industry in Toronto and would like to know if it's true that there are so many employers in calgary waiting for employees. is it truth or an exagerration? please every reply me with your best knowledge. it's really appreciated. THNX

  • @afghans4eva Thanks for commenting. Calgary is experiencing a labour shortage in a number of sectors. Calgary Economic Development along with 40 corporate partners, has launched a marketing campaign to attract workers called “Calgary. Be Part of the Energy”. As a starting point, you can check out bepartoftheenergy.ca. Many of these 40 companies are hiring hundreds of people before the end of the year. The highest employment needs specific to health care, project management and engineering.

  • @TourismCalgary Thank you and I appreciate your reply. However to be frank and open the reason why I want to move to Clagary is because I wanna make a living. Here in toronto I have worked extremely hard and life doesn't get anywhere. More than 50% of people live paycheque to paychque and I wanna put an end to this lifestyle. So my main point is, is it same kind of life in Calgary or better. I hope things change for good not from bad to worse. Once again, replies are very appreciated. Thank you

  • i visited relatives in calgary in 2008. soooooooo wanna come back

  • @gigaweich123 Come back soon! We've been selected as Canada's Cultural Capital for 2012, so next year is going to be one big celebration!

  • Calgary the cultural capital of Canada? LMFAO!. Seriously dude! Strathmore has more culture than Calgary!

  • i live there...

  • Love living here

  • Im fucking miss it...best city in the world ! Greetings from Switzerland!

  • I like how they warm you up showing you beautiful landscape than bam! Urban sprawl. Yup that's calgary.

  • Was in Calgary last week....loved every moment....excellent city....not very big to cause confusion and just sufficient enough for one to enjoy oneself. It has very well maintained parks and museums....notable among them is the heritage park (a blend of a park and a museum) which showcases life in the early 20th century. Also a must see is the Calgary tower which can give a fantastic view of the city. The best thing is that Banff is just a hour and half away so you can never run out of places.

  • @iamthe007 Thanks for the comment. We're happy to hear that you have a great visit! Come back to another visit soon!

  • love calgary <3 which is the scond song?

  • @AlexanderPerry94 thanks buddy, yea it is great actually! Well dont think you are far away neighbor, I am from Turkey :) Everything starts with believing, hopefully you can make it my friend, best of luck!

  • Absolutely Beautiful Video you did of our City....Amazing how much it has grown especially downtown Skyline from when you shot this back in 2009....Lived here all my Life and I Just Love My City.....Great People, Places and Things to Do here especially when the Stampede Rolls in every July....YeeHaaww!!

  • i was there for about 6 months...iam actually from switzerland...but this city rules^^ wanna go live there!!

  • Weak video for Calgary.... it's missing the new developments, the multi-ethnicity, the football, and the winter scenes of the city.... Too much focus on the Stampede too, at least show some of the party videos from Stampede... looks like a video from 1990's Calg.

  • it's not the best city but neither NYC but god is doing work here and greater things have yet to come

  • @wildshotsintheair

  • @wildshotsintheair dont be trollin
