@pediatrapaola Yes,Artem is gifted and elegant,but he had some problems with interpretation rezently...I hope someone helps him sort them out.It's a long story actually and I don't want to spill out anyone's name :)
Angelina is radiant and so talented - she shows amazing technique and balance in this horribly difficult pas de deux. Artem is amazing also. Lucky Bolshoi to have them!
Angelina reminds me a lot of Aurélie Dupont and Paris Opera ballerinas in general: very, very clean and somewhat "down to earth". Of course she's not as perfect as Aurélie yet but she shows so much joy when dancing, it's astonishing! It only becomes clear she's russianly trained when looking at her fouettés and pointe work...
And HE has the smoothest and most powerful jump I've seen in a long time! Amazing!!!
@pandaamandaa Haha no. It's Grand Pas Classique, and it's not from any particular ballet, it's just it's own creation, often performed at galas and, as you see here, at competitions.
She's gorgeous, elegant, graceful and her technique is awesome... but she looks a bit dollish to me with her wide smile... she reminds me of Svetlana Zakharova, who also resembles a doll to me (no offence for Svetlana or her fans, that's my opinion).
But I think Angelina has a great future, since she's only 17 here, she has plenty of time to improve her skills :)

this is jus how alina somova was before she went anorexic... u can see that this ballerina is a HEALTHY weight and she dances better becuz of it... alina used 2 b this size now she's too thin and jus swings her legs around like a madman and ppl applaud.... but this girl has talent.

I totally agree about Alina needing to gain some weight in order to have more solid technique. I feel like her weak, meager jumps are suffering from her not having enough energy...it's really noticeable if you have seen her live in Don Q like I have.

"Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by refusal to maintain a healthy body weight, and an obsessive fear of gaining weight". It's very prevalent in ballet and I was naive to think that all dancers were just naturally thin. Some are naturally thin, but in this career they want thin and we sometimes hurt ourselves for it.
This was so wonderful. She has so much control and very beautiful lines. Thank you for posting this, the moscow competion has a great tradtion of amazing dancers.
