It's great hearing this in good quality mono. Most of the compilation albums that this appeared on had it in really crummy sounding fake stereo. It was the American B-side of "19th Nervous Breakdown." In Britain, "As Tears Go By" was on the flipside of that single.
one of the many reasons the fab-4 & the stones are the greatest of all time is the flip sides on their 45's were kwuel songs..not throwaway's...beatles and stones 4-ever !! thanx
You really should pick all their vinyl releases or cds . You'll find some amazing recordings that are not known as " popular or hits " . Check out Long Long While and the entire Aftermath LP
I like the ealry period of The Stones the best, before they did the Satanic Majesties Pyscho Soul Selling shit in the late 60s..They became too wierd after that
I first heard this in the compilation "No Stone Unturned". I think it is the best Stones' lesser known song, probably on a par only with "Child of the Moon". Actually I put it over the A-side.
@oldbrownshoe1 you're right.... after years and years listening the stones, buying all his LP's.... reading things... everything.... I simply forgot to ask myself: «what was the be side of 19 th nervous....»????? Beautifull song. The produtions is very similar for that one of the Aftermath LP.... ok both on earlier 1966...
@destroyourselves - A great song! Thank you for posting it! As a child, I rode my bicycle to the next town, 15 miles away, to buy this 45 record. GUARANTEED, YouTube deletes this, as they've done EVERY TIME I've "favorited" it! Just the same as they did four times with the video of the Rolling Stones' 2nd performance on the Ed Sullivan Show playing "Little Red Rooster!" I'm rooting for you, but....YouTube is YouTube!!
I fukkin love this track
