  • Are you shooting steel case ammo?

  • @emill1017 I have shot steel case ammo at times, with no issues

  • @emill1017 But no, these are hornady tap ammo they are brass with some type of dark finish

  • @brotherskeepers111 Cool thanks for the response. I just bought a 2T and was curious how the steel case ammo runs in stags.

  • see what i have to deal with is that my right arm is my strong arm but i wright with my left hand and i can only close my right eye and aim with my left so i shoot pistols with my right hand cause its stronger but with rifles i have to shoot left handed im just all sorts of messed up haha but its what im used to and im a pretty good shot

  • @TheSickman99 You sound as mixed up as I am

  • @brotherskeepers111 so if i got a left handed upper for the ar that im about to build would i be able to use a right handed bolt assembly or would i have to get a special bolt for the left handed upper

  • @TheSickman99 The bolt for this upper is left handed as well

  • @brotherskeepers111 oh ok so you cant put a bolt out of a right handed ar into a left handed upper

  • I have the same AR only thing different is mine does not have the forward assist and only one safety on the right.

  • @Renagadepatriot Good deal man, I really like the Stags

  • Do standard magazines work in the LH versions? I don't have an AR mag handy to check to see if there are catch cutouts on both sides. Thanks.

  • @unicornlxi I should have waited. You just answered my question. I suppose any AR mag will work. One more question: what type of gas system does it use?

  • @unicornlxi Yes the lower is a standard config. Tis one is direct inpingement but they do make a piston version

  • are you noticing any wear on the eotech with the dust cover hiting it?

  • @Grant881000 No none at all, not enough weight or force behind it

  • Not going down the $400-$700 road but may have to spend more than $100 for somthing that works properly. I really hate buying junk from China. I will keep reading reviews... got time to research. Thanks.

  • @mkstn1400 your not alone lol i want a aimpoint so bad but that isn't gonna happen anytime soon. probably never lol

  • I am not sure what sight to put on it. I want to shoot it a bit with the iron sights first. Been looking at a lot of sight reviews. Too many to choose from. I will probably go with a red dot because I don't want to spend much more than $100 unless I can find a good range that is not too far from me.

  • @mkstn1400 Red dot is a good option, but most of the eo techs and aimpoints are in the 400 to 700 dollar range. There are some options out there for the 100 dollar range, you just need to research it and read the reviews

  • Just got mine... haven't fired it yet. Shooting left handed creates problems and the Stag Arms sure helps.

  • @mkstn1400 They are great rifles for sure

  • Sweet, I am getting the exact same setup including the Eotech sight.....

  • @stereolab22 They work well together, I think you will enjoy it

  • LEFTYs FTW

  • @kookieless LOL

  • Hey, I was wondering if you have tried the DPMS tactical bolt release? Its not like the Magpul BAD lever as it doesn't cross over through the trigger guard. It seems like the DPMS version is made for lefties. It sells for less than $10.

  • @saminwa Haven't heard of that before, I will check it out

  • I wish Stag put the safety on the left side of the lower receiver. Otherwise......it would be perfect.

  • @saminwa Yea its a ambi safety, I like it on both sides

  • @saminwa They do have one now, it's on the 2TL. I'm ordering one here before too long. It's not ambi, but actually a reversed safety.

  • just ordered mine from buds. paid 766 plus 8 for shipping insurance. cant wait for it to come in. needed to add an ar to my collection

  • @acort10 Its a great rifle my friend

  • Hornady Tap in the mag?

  • @MrGlockJock25 Yes sir, the 60 grain ones

  • whats the best way to clean this rifle ?

  • @Renagadepatriot Its not that difficult really. I would suggest you check here on youtube, there are some good videos on cleaning and lubing the AR-15

  • I have one but it doesnt have the assist

  • @Renagadepatriot They are great rifles

  • Let me ask where did u get your ambe safety from mines didn't come with the safety on the left side!

  • @Dre6k Mine actually came with the ambi safety already installed

  • @brotherskeepers111 lucky mines did`nt and they said its pose to be on the right side

  • what is the forward assist for and do?,I`m new and looking to get the 2tl one.one is the mil spec mean? And is the 556 rd bigger then the 223rd and which one is better?

  • @Dre6k You can tap it with your hand to seat the bolt if it doesnt go all the way forward

  • what is the forward assist for and do?,I`m new and looking to get the 2tl one.

  • Is this the carbine you carry in the patrol car

  • @waseem1173 yes sir it is

  • This is going to sound daft, but what is the forward assist for?

  • @Fishyninjabreadman Sometimes when you pull back the slide to put in a round, the bolt may not seat all the way, at that point you can tap the forward assist and it will seat the round. I believe this was probably an issue with earlier ar designs, but it has never been an issue with this rifle

  • @brotherskeepers111 Thanks friend, see learning Forensic Ballistics so the more know-how I get, the better.

  • nice AR man

  • @BREECHFACE Thanks my friend

  • Sorry if you mention it, can't watch the whole vid... Does the aperture on the top rail intervene with the dust cover for the ejection port/shell ejection at all? (most technical sentence in the world I know..)

  • @ThaBR33D I thought the eo tech might hinder ejection due to the cover flipping up, but so far it has not been a issue

  • Amen mike, same reason why I'm going for an LEO job, cause I want an active roll in removing scumbags from my community, not making it harder for good citizens to protect themselves under our "inalienable" rights

  • @mrpicky510 Well said my friend

  • Ahh, the prince 15, It's basically an allen wrench lock out. Take out the allen screw and it's full function...that's for the magazine I'm referring to. I wish I didn't have to know about that, but it's California brother, all the rules are different out here, as much as this is a liberal state, they are very conservative about our gun laws out here.

  • @mrpicky510 I got it, thats sad man, I got friends here on youtube who live in europe who dont have the restrictions you guys do. It makes no sense to me that we are all Americans that are guaranted the same rights under the constitution and yet our rights are so different

  • @brotherskeepers111 Man, it's state laws, like I said, things are so much harder because of the law makers, this is considered a violent area, but most of the crimes are gang related, and carried out with hand guns. But after the north hollywood bank shootout in 97 where the guys had AK's, our state has banned so many things. AR's are deemed assualt rifles so we have to try to bend the rules. Honestly through...people will shoot something up with an 870 if they are motivated enough

  • @mrpicky510 Its a knee jerk reaction from these guys, everytime there is a shooting they are quick to call for more laws and restrictions that do nothing but harm law abidding gun owners and make it more difficult to protect themselves. I dont know what it will take to make them realize that rule after restriction after law will not make criminals stop criminal behavior. If that was the case I would not have a job. The bad guys dont care how many laws there are on the books.

  • man, it's such a pain in the ass, I have to buy the lower through an approved FFL, after that I can get any upper assembly that I want any additions that I want, buuuuut, the mag has to be 10 measly rounds and either locked into the lower, or it has to have a "bullet button" or a "prince 15". Crazy thing, look at the stats in my state...no one commits crimes with the AR, gun laws are just punishing responsible gun owners, oh well.

  • @mrpicky510 Thats crazy, I have seen the locking mags and the bullet button, but what is a prince 15?

  • Oh another thing Mike, do you carry this particular weapon in your cruiser, or does your department supply them for you?

  • @mrpicky510 No, this is my personal weapon, the department issues Colts

  • I've been looking into an AR 15 build for myself out here in California, and as you know already, there's all kinds of subtle little things we have to do to legally own these. It's kind of tricky, but it can be done. I don't own too many long guns so this is all really new to me, however, I know I can build a pretty cool gun, as long as it's a 10 round mag.

  • @mrpicky510 Man that stinks about you guys only being allowed the 10 round mags. This is a great platform of a rifle, so many possibilities, just have to be careful and not over do it with to many gadgets.

  • I've been doing research on LH ARs. NOVESKE also makes a true makes a lefty for $2300 US. IMHO Stag Arms is the best LH bang for your buck.

  • @21oPlato Agreed my friend, they make an awesome rifle

  • i still dont get why ny willnt let us have a butstock liek that inless u pin it as long as its over is 26.5 over all why should it matter

  • @curtispa Exactly, we live in the same great country, it makes no sense how some can enjoy certain rights and privledges that others can't

  • Thanks for the review!

  • @bulldog10mm Thanks for watching man

  • NICE RIFLE!!! I am a lefty also and have always used right handed rifles since I was ten. In the military I used a M14. So I am use to using right handed rifles. I have a MAK 90 and a Armalite 16 inch M16, both right handed of course. Nice video!!! You have a good channel!!! Thanks for the info.

  • @45calvet No problem man, I highly recommend it to all southpaws. Your MAK 90 is a good one, you will not find a finer ak47

  • aswome left handed love to have one

  • @kullas924 Highly recommend them my friend

  • damn i wish i woulda thunk o'that! I'm lefty and just had to get used to shootin it lefty and functioning it righty. Good vid. Hope your doin well n thx for subscribing! i posted a few dumb vids shootin my colt 38. Goin out this wknd with the AR, pt1911, and keltec this wknd so should have sum good vids comin up. Have a good one bro!

  • @MrAzcabowabo Yea I love my stag, its a great rifle, thanks for watching my videos and I look forward to seeing some of yours

  • Great vid sir! Stag is a great company. I like the history lesson too. Great info!

  • @SnakeStrike77 Thanks man, I love my ar15

  • I wouldn’t mind getting the Stag 20” barrel Model 4 HBAR or a Bushmaster 20” Target HBAR and doing some 400yard steel plate shooting.

  • Nice rifle

  • @CitizensSoldiers I appreciate it, Stag makes quality firearms

  • Thanks for your service in law enforcement... good video!

  • @Hiscosmos thankyou sir

  • @KevCal510 Thanks for watching

  • Great vid as u know I love Stag had a model 3L but someone wanted more then me.I will be replacing it with the model 2L.You be safe out there.

  • @staglefty Thanks man, and yea its a great rifle

  • Nice vid! Keep up the great work and thank you for serving your community!

  • @74Hobbes Hey Hobbes, thanks man

  • For a guy that says that he isn't a reviewer you sure did a great review.

Have you heard of POF, they have a truly ambi lower where the bolt release and mag release are on both sides and done very well. They are expensive but very very nice. It'd go very well with your stag upper.

Take care and stay safe, I hope that business is slow at work :D

  • @1AbominAble1 Hey man, thanks for the comment. I have heard of the company, but I am not that familiar with them. I will check it out, but based on my LEO salary it will probably hurt my feelings LOL

  • Great video man you know I love that Stag Arm AR-15

  • Great vid. I'm going through school for LE right now, thanks for your service! Great vid, and for a non-reviewer, you do a hell of a lot better job than other people out there that claim to be. Keep it up

  • @Seppish1 Thanks for the comment man, I hope you have a long and successful career as an LEO

  • Great vid BK, great bit of kit, my ol' Man was a South paw, so i got took taught to do a lot of thing "wrong handed" including shooting (as im a "righty") lots of good info including the history of the company (i enjoy the background knowleage) for a "non-reveiwer" you did real good bro! all we need now is some footage of that bad boy pit'n some lead down range! ha again top job and respect BK take care brother.

  • @TheDishD Hey Dishy my friend, thanks for the comment man. CMT has been making milspec receivers and parts for alot of years. Thankyou for the encouragement, but I still say I ramble on and loose my train of thought to much. I need some talking points like ol Nutn, LOL. Footage is coming man, I plan on burning some rounds soon. Take care my brother down under

  • Great vid, I'm left-handed, but we went with a right-handed Stag because friends and family would also be shooting it sometimes. We love the EOTech 512 also. There was just a bit of rattle in our stock butt-stock, so until we got some MOE furniture, I applied some UHMW tape to the inside of the stock and it worked great (see our vid on how we did it).

  • @drzmanproject Thankyou for the response sir, I have been a big "fan" since I saw you and your son running and gunning in Nutn's allstar video. I believe I have already seen the video you are referring to, but a revisit wouldn't hurt

  • but the mag release still on the right hand whats up with that

  • @GhostStan The upper is the true left handed part, the lower is still the standard model

  • @brotherskeepers111 i notice after watching the full video lol im right handed but i shoot rifles left handed

  • Ah ha! Something just didnt look right on that rifle and I just figured out what it is when I saw the part about the dust cover... it's not a "true" lefty rifle, just a lefty upper. I was air-gunning (kind of like air-guitar but cooler) and then my mental image got to the bolt and mag releases.

I think some company needs to sack up and make a fully left-handed AR-15 with lefty ergos on the upper AND lower. Stag Arms is on the right track but I wish they made a left handed lower too!

  • @DangerCL0SE Good observation man, you are correct, the lower is standard ar platform. But it is the closest thing we wrong handers got

  • nice how much did you pay for that

  • @danwhaneman1 About 950 dollars, I have seen them cheaper on gunbroker. The left handed models cost a little more than the right handed ones do

  • man... I really gotta get me one of those! How much is the "lefty premium" versus the standard model?

Being a southpaw myself, I fully understand the "hot brass to the face" issue and every one of my guns (except my awesome bottom-eject Ithica pump 12GA) is made for righys. Backwards ergos I can live with, but the right side ejection can be a real pain!

  • @DangerCL0SE LOL I feel your pain brother

  • Sweet rifle you defintly don't want all that brass hitting you in the face.. thanks bro.

  • @SyrianKnight01 You got that right, after years of spent hot brass, gas and burning gun powder, its a nice change

  • Sent it to my buddy, he's a wrongie too LOL

  • @mtower235 Thats funny man, I have people ask me all the time why I wear my gun on the wrong side.

  • Very cool, saw this in one of those tactical magazines a few months back and thought "about time" haha anyway, I have a Stag Arms upper assembly on top of a Bushmaster lower and I LOVE it so far. Excellent quality!

  • @StormForceTac Yes sir, there quality control is top notch.

  • @TheSOGDog Yes sir, over the years I have had to learn to adapt to using right handed weapons, I have learned to use my trigger finger to release magazines and release the slide, even with most modern companies producing ambi controls, I still find myself reverting back to the way I have learned over the years
