This is so funny! Backlund and the guy he was giving the move to looked like they were having a lot of fun. The guy who got the move never stopped smiling even when he was getting the cross face chicken wing.

Bob Backlund was one of the best wrestlers out there, very technical, a true pro willing to stay in the shadow of others.

I loved Backlund! He was at his very best when he trapped Hit Man with that very deadly chicken wing! Could Bret escape? Not at all. He submitted and lost. Too many of the fans that night were poor sports. It was always a great time when a heel won the belt!

Critics: Do not bother arguing about all the details. Hit Man was defeated and handed over the belt to "Mr. Backlund. That is all that mattered.

Hart was stuck. He was also too stubborn and was willing to risk permanent injury to avoid submitting.

Hart was bested by the best. "Mr. Bob Backlund" could actually wrestle. Notice how the man used technique when he got in the ring. He did not have to depend on using a nearly-closed fist or an endless series of clothes-lines.

By trapping Bret in that deadly chicken wing, he won by actual submission. The guy was great either as a heel or a face.
