  • Great work

  • nice work!

  • @theshugchannel - Thanks!

  • great remake...you have talent, and it shows...2 people didn't like it...that's too bad..this is terrfic work!

  • @CRAZYHARRY4 - Thanks, glad you like it!

Yeah, some ppl won't like anything I do. As far as I'm concerned, I just make what I want, and if certain others don't like what I make, then they shouldn't watch them.

  • @MSTS1

how do you do this?...i'm impressed..you take a 1964 wnbc 4 id and create something cool with it?..a few years back i stumbled upon your videos and just a few days ago joined youtube..i'm incredibly impressed with the material you have here posted.

  • @CRAZYHARRY4 - When I do these I typically storyboard my new ideas first, then create all of the elements that are needed myself. After all the parts and illustrations are done, I animate the action and combine everything into a final movie.

Nice to know you've been following my work over the past few years, and I appreciate your nice comments very much, thanks. )

  • Can you do a station ID with a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade theme, giant balloons and all? I'd like to see something like that!

  • A fleet number of "4464" is highly unlikely for a NYCTA GM TDH-5303 Transit Bus built between 1963 and 1965 !!

  • @East180thStreetYard - Thanks for the info on the fleet numbering. When I designed that, I just selected a random 4-series number; it's only meant to be representative...

  • @MSTS1 Please accept my appologies.I had no idea that you made that video, and I was not trying to be a wise ass.The 1963's were numbered around 3100-3900,and the 1965's roughly 6400-6900,but I may be a little off. These coaches were a bit before my time, but tons of fun nonetheless.

  • @East180thStreetYard - Apology was not necessary at all; your comment was ok with me..

The reference photos I had for this showed the GM-TDHs in dark green/aluminum with series numbers beginning with "4"s. They were from late 60s and early 1970's. Hadn't found any from earlier so, did what I could with what info I had.. )

  • @MSTS1 The photos you used were of the non-air-conditioned variety prior to 1966 (no big bulge over the rear window that houses the condenser). The NYCTA and MaBSTOA finally decided to choose air-conditioning starting with the 1966 TDH-5303A models numbered in the "8000 series",some with dark gray fiberglass seats, and others with green forward-facing "express seating".The "M" logo was introduced in 1968 for the newly formed Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

  • @East180thStreetYard - Well as for my anim. I'll just say that artists have to at times condense reality to fit an idea into a limited space; in this case, I'm working from an established soundtrack, so sometimes the details have to be as they are. This was more about WNBC, not so much about the GM bus itself..

  • As for the bus details, I remember both versions of the rear roof; some without, and some with the "A/C" unit which resembled a fin when seen in profile. I rode those here going back to the mid-60's. The green Fiberglas seats I remember from long ago; the gray ones lasted until the end.

Two things I remember off-hand about these- they rocked like a ship on curves, and the change-box jingled after every new addition of dimes..

  • @MSTS1 I used to DX TV stations. When residing in Brooklyn,NY,I picked up KMTV 3,and WOWT 6 Omaha,NE,and WREG 3 Memphis,TN all via E-skip.While living in Western Kentucky during the spring and summer I could easily get Mexico, and Canada by way of E-skip.Ever since the analog shut-off I have not done any TV Dxing, but I am starting to DX the AM (Medium Wave Band).

  • @East180thStreetYard - Were you ever able to record anything from the television stations you mentioned?

  • @MSTS1 I never recorded anything,but I have QSL's from WREG 3 Memphis,TN,WRIC 8 Petersburg,VA,and WMPT 22 Annapolis,MD.The last two were not via E-skip,but through tropospheric bending and ducting.E-skip usually affects VHF-Low Channels 2-6,however they can at times reach the VHF-High band.

  • Forgot to mention that the MTA eventually repainted the buses to a two-tone bright blue scheme. I vaguely remember seeing the blue scheme around 1970, but the green lingered on for a few more years.

  • Wow! Beautiful artwork that is so accurate. As I kid in the 60s and early 70s I have fond memories of riding those green New York GMC "Fishbowl" transit buses with my mother. They were everywhere. Saddened me when the graffitti trash started showing up in 71 or 72.

  • @ACLTony Thanks! I rode the Boston Fishbowls with my mother and brothers in the 60s. The 2 paint styles were Boston MTA Tangerine + Aluminum, and, White + Aluminum with yellow doors. They eventually were repainted in MBTA yellow + white, and were taken out of service in the early 90's.

Also, I did see some pics online of the NY Blue-scheme GMCs from the early 70s..

  • It fits in nicely with the originals.
