I have cracked the LCD in my xperia x8. Do you know if its an easy job to replace the screen? (the front glass looks fine). I repair consoles, so know the business end of a screwdriver :-).

Brilliant vid, instant subscribe! I actually don't know if my 880i needs the LCD replaced. The display at the top (reception, received calls and battery) look normal, but the middle section is dark, now just bunch of faint black & white rectangles. It does a little 'beep' - any suggestions / ideas?

@seiketsu85 Hey, I bought this phone off Ebay. I am from Australia and I bought this from an Australian seller and it wasn't a bad sell. If I were you I would keep looking for sellers from America and places like that. If you are really game then you should consider looking at some of the sellers from Hong Kong. Sometimes they can sell pretty good items from experience. Just give it a shot. I payed $80 australian dollars for mine :)

I have this cell phone but from months ago it has received very little scratches in the screen protector, I'm worried for the future to became more scratchy so thats my question. Have purchased a second w880i which has suffered the same problem as the first. My LCD screen is split with blurred left half with right half looking like a patchy untuned TV image. I would assume this is a loose connection, as (very) rarely the phone screen will appear as normal for a short time. Have you encountered this problem before and if so could you give me guidance? O Well thanks for the help m8 Just to let you know i have broke the little black clip now so nevermind still didnt work after changing it a couple times anyway. So now left with a 4 month old phone dead and a new £25 screen doing nothing :( O well looks likei got to stick the with Blackberry :(

Hi I have a w880i which i have just changed screen in as you have described on this video. There is still a problem as every time i turn it on the screen stays blank, but the back light comes on and there is still sound when pressing buttons it also vibrates when switched on as its ment to. Have you got any idea on how i can fix this please?

I think I know what you haven't done (because I had the same situation!). The ribbon of the LCD screen that goes into the phone has to be locked in by a the black strip on the socket. If you notice, it holds the ribbon in place by locking it in. This strip can be pushed from one side to the other. Watch this video again from this point onwards: 5 min 3 seconds and you'll see from that point how to do it. Good luck.

ok, very nice vid and thanx for it. BUT i went to replace mine and broke the gate that closes on the connection ribbon to the screen, the screen wont come on (not even the cracks in the old one light up now) does anyone know a fix for this or if my phone is now useless ?

if i dismantle as shown can i get access to butcher the volume/zoom slider into submission. woke up one day to a dead phone, charged it back up, turned it on, and the info screen you get when the slider is moved keeps popping up, no matter how many times i press return or "OK"

Hi can i first commend you on a very informative and useful video. I have a K800i and was wondering if you may be able to tell me how many screws ( and their locations) i would need to remove to follow the lcd removal. My second question is that is the procedure shown for the above video the same as that for the k800i once the screws have been removed? If not is it possible for you to give some advice please.

Partly guess work. The one we were doing that day had a blank LCD so it could of been the connector ribbon. If the phone still vibrates a few seconds after you hit the power button, it most likely will be the LCD.
