Yes, getting a CD together is something I'd love to do, even if I produced it myself. Just need a good collection of songs to do it with. YouTube has been a good springboard for all that.
Very inspiring improvisation. I've been playing for about a year myself, self-taught. It's a great stress relief and it's easy to make it sound good if you know your key... and well, I love the D scale but really lack in some others. anyway, I like your vids, they are all great!
grrr.. im jealous of your talent man.. i never took lessons and im pretty good at piano, guitar, and jazz cornet... and im only 16.. maybe i should put all my effort on the piano.. it is my fav instrument after all.. well if you got any tips.. i would apreciate it.. if not.. its ok..
The biggest tip I can tell anyone who wants to learn the piano is know all the chords forwards and backwards. That's pretty much how I play. I know my chords, and I know how they interact with each other. Good luck!
Not really sure what level. I took 5 years of piano when I was a kid. But I've been playing nearly every day for decades. It's always fun or a great stress reliever.
Sounds good !!! By reading your hand, you are playing in the key of D. It's pretty to play when you know your scales, the dificult part is switching scales and adding notes that are not in the scale, and to make them sound good !!
Not sure if I'm disappointing you or not ryanjm, but yes, I really did pull this song out of my arse. This is the kind of stuff I like to do. I just sit down at the piano, and start making stuff up. That's the fun of it!

Its quite easy to beleive that that was completely improvised. You would be amazed what some jazz guys can just bust out from the top of their heads.
