  • Which one was Deborah Sue?

  • Im trying out for Ursula tomorrow! Wish me luck :)

  • Does anyone know where i can watch this?

  • Great harmony

  • Just got the part of Helen in my school's play... she's the one in pants. This should be amusing.

  • Is the girl in pink Asian?

  • i was ursula :D

  • Wait, which one is ursula? Is that the middle one? If not, who is the middle one?

  • I love this :) I sing this song ALL the time!! (much to my family's dismay)

  • Ursula is so adorable!

  • The harmonies are so amazing(:

  • @morgankbsbfan

omg i was just thinking the same thing...plus when the do their little wave at 1:27 and ursala's face at 1:35 sooo adorable!

  • @bombalurinax You can see that she's pretty developed, so it makes me wonder what she's training them to do?

  • @v1de0gamr Well, I think the point is that she is such a big fan that she still wears her Conrade Birdie training bra even though she has probably outgrown it.

  • I'd kill to be the girl in the middle. That way, if someone recognized me, they'd say in front of my parents that I was the one that got so turned on that I climbed on the table like a savage beast! XD

  • The 1963 version with Ann Margaret is better except for this particular scene imo. In the 1963 version AM sings this solo at the beg and the end. No harmonies. I like this scene better.

  • i love the ursula :D

  • @dgoren1 acctually shes hispanic and in this one shes call Rose Alvzarez

  • I luv da way my school did da show but 2 bad I can't go c it again

  • @dgoren1 I love the 1963 version, what never fails to take me out of it is Maureen Stapleton playing Dick Van Dykes's mother--even though she was a few months *younger* than him in real life! Even in the "old age makeup" she looked younger.

  • I like the original better, but this one is still good.

  • I used to be so obsessed with this movie. I was Ursula Merkle, and I practically had every line in the show memorized :)

  • LOVE this song. My school is competing in a competition and we are doing this musical. I love this song. It is my favorite song out of the entire musical

    SMS STAGE AND SELECT CHOIR

  • we're doing this for my school musical . love Love LOVE the costumes XD

  • @rocklobster1996 what school do u go to. becuz the school i graduated from is doing this musical on March 10, 11, and 12

  • Why don't they have instrumental versions of this song!?

  • They have no harmony and the 1963 version with Ann Margret is waaaaay better. Also, it's better as a solo.

  • "Kim, how come?"

    "She was chosen."

Wow way to clear that up.

  • Ursula is adorable.

  • has anybody noticed that the girl in yellow magically loses her glasses and her bangs r styled different when the singing starts

  • The 1963 version is way better.

  • @totalgilmoregrl Gonna have to disagree with you hard. The musical talent in this one is scores better than in the 1963 version. Besides, they strayed so far from the original musical in 1963 they're practically two different musicals.

  • I got this movie on DVD for Christmas!

  • "Have a nice time in the army!" "But I don't think they do." XD

  • my school is this muscial for show choir!

  • Is the main girl ursula?

  • @mia42235

Yep. She's really good. So is everyone else in this number. I like this better here than in 1963 film, and I like Ann Maragret.

  • PA Academy is doing a play of this

  • Even though Dick Van Dyke didn't like the 1963 adaption but without this song wouldn't exist. And i really wish this was in the original show. It's so much fun.

  • who is the one who started singing the song.... I love her voice

  • @dj4real4546 Her name is Brigitta Dau. She's a Canadian, from Vancouver (where this production was shot).

  • does anyone know where i can find this whole version online? or to download? i can only find the 63 version

  • this really looks and feels like one of those Disney movies that used to come on the Orbit (Middle Eastern cable) in the 90's.

  • the 1963 version ruled so much more than this one.

  • @MickScarborough This movie version followed the stage play almost identically whereas the 63 version was very loosely based on the play. Broadway purists prefer this version. I like both versions for various reasons.

  • @harri3601 Purists are most often annoying beyond belief.

  • Cute

  • ahhh mas nem se compara a performance espalhafatosa da ann-margret do filme de 1963!!!!

  • 1:35. omg.

  • "like my birdie sweatA" I hate how she sings that :P

  • back then girls were crazy over "conrad birdie" nowadays' it's justin beiber :/

  • "How about.... Have a nice time in the army!"

"But I don't think they do!"

  • harmonies are amazing :P

  • the girl with a birdie bra or whatever...isn't that Britanny Murphy???

  • @pika23 No, but the main girl looks like Brittany Snow.

  • lucky duckie kim XD

  • She starts crying like crazy at the end. XD

  • Where can u find this version on iTunes or wat should i type in

  • i have a question...what is the charecters name that has a majority of the lines in the begining and who starts singing the song, is that alice or ursala or someone else?

  • @monicatwist23 Ursala

  • @monicatwist23 ursula

  • the girl in the middle is hot

  • where can i find this movie

  • I love this movie, so much fun! Much better than the 1963 version, in my opinion.

  • @inlovewithJLT Ah but see, to be better than the 63 version, you'd have to top a Dick Van Dyke musical, which to my knowledge has never been done. So while i respect your opinion, it's integrally flawed.

  • @Fooma777 To your knowledge or not, it's been done. The proof is right here, my friend.

  • @inlovewithJLT You're entitiled to your opinion, but this version has NOTHING on the original

  • @Magic9053 You're entitled to your opinion but this version FAR OUTSTRIPS the original.

  • @inlovewithJLT Well, as I said that's your opinion (but I bet more people would agree with me)

  • @Magic9053 And the idea that the original is better is your opinion, no matter how many people agree with you.

  • did i hear a 'fuck yeah' at 3:15 o.O

  • @opcfuzzle It sure sounded like it.

  • lol check out the girl sobbing at the end XD

  • does anybody know where can i find the Telphone Hour version featured in this movie? (1995)

  • i luv this song, great voices

  • My school oddly left this OUT of our play. I don't know why...

  • @Chingirl94 I don't think it's in the stage version.. At least it wasn't in ours...

  • @spectacularrx52 Its in the Broadway version, I know that. And I think I saw on youtube that a theater group or school or something had this in their play.

  • @spectacularrx52

You are correct. It was written for the movie.

  • Your school left this out because it is not available in the version that is released... nor was it in the original show.

  • @Chingirl94

This song was originally written for Ann-Margaret for the 1963 movie, and then reworked for this 1995 TV version. Tams-Witmark Music Library doesn't own this song, and does not license it with the show. They do, however have exclusive rights to some of the songs that were written for this 1995 version (Let's Settle Down, A Mother Doesn't Matter Anymore, rewrite of Spanish Rose). You may add those to show, only with permission, and extra cost.

  • the girl in the middle seems like a big ham

  • loooooveeeee this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this makes me sad :( my theater group did this show and i miss it so much. everyone was crying at the cast party and we all had to leave.......memories.........

  • somebody needs to make a vid if this song sped up

  • my school just did it and it was pretty funny!

  • Love the harmonies.

  • @factortenshithawk Same here.

  • Comment removed

  • see i liked this version the better than the original movie version because this is more true to the broadway version. they changed soooo much in the version dick van dyke was in that i couldnt even stand to watch it more than once. it was just "based" off the story where this is more of a revival version for tv.

  • @shyguy11511 Same here!

  • very nice singing love it my high school is doing this musical this year im so excited about trying out

  • OMG!!! my school is doing this too!

  • e' troppo bella questa canzone

  • awesome version =*D

  • love this show. My high school did it a year ago. I like the original best, but that was good!

  • I saw this version for the first time yesterday. While I like the original better overall, I loved this number by the soda shop girls.

  • Sorry but this version of Bye Bye Birdie is awful. It in no way compares to the original movie. The guy who plays Conrad Birdie is terrible. They ruin every song

  • @Guitarwizard55 On the contrary, this version actually follows the original plotline of the musical, instead of cutting out all the good songs, and changing the plot line to add in cheap gags like the speedy turtle.

  • @BroadwayFanatic2008

Could you feature Janet Leigh singing "A Bio-Chemist" instead of "An English Teacher"? LMAO! Even Dick Van Dyke disliked how they adapted the 1963 film. He said, "They're turning it into The Ann-Margaret Story!"

  • I'm In This Show at My School

  • I absolutely adore Ursula in this version! She's so cute! I really love this song, and I really hope to get Ursula when my school does this show. Auditions after break!

  • I love the '95 TV version!

The guy plays Birdie is Great!

  • @jelloman89 He's In 9 To 5 The Musical

  • I saw 9 to 5 the musical!

    Is he the boss?

  • yeah

  • Woah. Hes gotten old. haha

  • lol yeah

  • such a fun musical!!! i loved sooo much. my school did the bestest version of tthe play. wow. everyone kept asking "Where is the birdie?" they thought they were real birds.

  • k so i got one of these girls! in my musical at my school, i got helen its one of these girls but im not sure which one....

  • i can't wait to do this in the spring with my school

  • @AlyssaBoleng Me too!!! Have you auditioned yet???? (oh and BTW my name is Alyssa too!!!!!)

  • no. it is in the first week of april and we will perform on the first week of june. and cool. i look at ur profile. i LOVE to act. sing, and dance.

  • i luv the movie i know every word to the talking and the music luv it n i love anred birdie i used to luv him when i was like three thx for this vid luvvv it so much

  • lol i will wear my birdie training bra to keep him close to my heart hahaha

  • Wow..overproduced for TV. Almost barbershop harmonizing!

  • Hahahaha cant wait to do it in my school musical saturday!

  • so the song is actually called bye bye birdie

  • i just watched a play of this :D.

    it was good ^.^

  • my school is doing this

  • my school is doing this this year. audtoiuns tommorw. yay really exited

  • Which one is who?

  • This song was added for the original movie and undated for this movie, so these aren't really characters from the musical. The middle one is Ursula, the others are just random girls as far as I know.

  • Ah im going to see bye bye birdie on broadway Oct, 24 (next saturday) Im soooo pupmped!

  • I saw it on the 19th. It was awesome.

  • yea it was beastly. I just got back from last night. That telephone scene was cool. OMG and the Birdie kid rocked!

  • there is a play called bye bye birdie and my friends and me are in it

  • I love this song, you can take this tune and make up your own song about anything almost! I love the musical Bye Bye Birdie! I am in the school play-Bye Bye Birdie!

  • does anyone know where i can get this version of bye bye birdie the instrumental version?

  • These girls do fine with the song, but the original with Ann-Margret in front of a blue screen (from the 1963 movie) is one of the most iconic moments in musical film history.

  • This is cute.

  • token asian

  • XD seriously

  • @zackhanscom lmao true

  • @zackhanscom well it would have been anachronistic to have a black girl in the group.

  • MY FAVORITE SONG IN THE WORLD. :D

  • I lovee this song!! A couple of my friends and I might do this song for like a solo. :))

  • My goodness do I wanna get to play Ursala in our musical of this play. I'm sorta worried though that as a freshmen, it won't happen. Oh well; Love this song so much that I'm singing it as my tryout song!

  • love this play

  • My Theatre Arts class might be getting to do Bye Bye Birdie and I am hoping to try out for Kim!Good luck to anyone else doing the play or trying out!

"BUT I DONT THINK THEY DO!!"

    classic.

  • I loved this version of bye bye birdie that i went and bought this 1 s soundtrack and this song was not even on the cd so i got the vhs then dvd

  • this is MUCH better than ann margeret. always thought ursala should sing this instead.

  • im in this right now...and we're adding this as our curtain music :)

  • I just did this with my playhouse, I played 5 different parts (was supposed to be 6 but we turned Mr. Johnson into Mrs. J for efficiency because I would have had too much time on stage and too fast changes) It was a lot of fun and my research shows that this is a very close version to the play, which is what I've been looking for.

  • My friends and I are going to sing this to our friend Jacob when he leaves for duty. ^^

Great movie! :D Great song. ^^

  • I love how they all get excited when she say's that the news is about Conrad Birdie, but when they find out that he is comming to their hometown, the're just like, "Oh, cool, that's nice."

  • this is so good! i love this version!

also i think the girl who plays ursula is incredible!

  • eeeek im kim in our school musical and its coming up in 2 weeks! O_o

I rekn rosie is a way cooler character though.

And Mrs peterson is hilarious! my sister's playing her :)

  • lol im kim in bye bye birdie jr

  • Where did the girl in the yellow's glasses go? Hmm...

  • She took her glasses off, I think :)

  • Must have been one of those goofs that somebody in continuity should have caught. The actress herself should have caught it. Ha,ha.

  • my school just did this play.

    it was amazing:)

the guy who plyes Conrad Birdie was hot:)
