I hadn't even thought of some of the stuff you said they left out, gosh...I have to re-read Deathly Hallows. It's been such a long time since I last read it. Overall amazing movie, and awesome review, it made me re-asses some of my own opinions :)
The piano scene made me swoon. And I completely agree about Emma's acting. Basically all their acting was way better in this one.
Julia is awesome. "I'm crumping!"
I really really really need to go to that exhibition. My college newspaper got two tickets to go so we could do a feature and take photos and I didn't get to go because I was working. *sigh*
YES!! Where did that shovel come from?! That bothered me SO much, for some odd reason. How would Hermione have possibly known to put a shovel in her purse?! I absolutely agree with all your dislikes, and love the added scene with Hermione and her parents. Overall, I'd say it was very well done. ^-^
Roommate and You are awesome. I liked listen to your point of view on scenes as well. It is easy to get caught up in what I like about the movies and not think what others thought. Have a great day :D
@ghostflies Have you read them? If you have not (or if you just stopped at 4 or 5 like a lot of people did) please read all of them! If you don't want to, your loss, but I promise you they will bring you immense joy and satisfaction.
I agree with you on Emma Watson. I can't stand her, but her acting has really improved in DH - especially when she's screaming at Malfoy Manor. I was expecting her to just be like "Aaaah!" but she really poured her emotions into that scene.
What is that thing in the top left on your blinds it keeps changing with every jump cut I cannot figure out for the life of me what it is haha so distracting
I'm glad that someone has a similar opinion to mine on this movie! I feel like I'll probably like it more the second time I see it though. The ministry scene WAS so well done.
You said this was a movie for the fans, and I completely agree. However, my friend who has never read the books found that this movie made more sense than any other because, due to its length, it was able to spend time explaining (almost) everything.
I did mention that there was a taboo on Voldemort's name and she was like "ooh!" but for the most part, everything was more clearly explained in this one (unlike previous ones).
I didn't like the Dobby-burial scene either - you DON'T bury someone in sand, they'll just resurface during the next wind storm, which would be creepy. I also wish that Ron had freaked out when Hermione was being tortured.
Overall, though, I really think that they interpreted the book well, and they chose a really good place to end it.
You suck at life

Also really would of liked the conversation between Harry and Krum at the wedding. I don't think the movie even mentioned Grindelwald, did it?
xXJacobBuckXx 1 year ago
@xXJacobBuckXx Hermione mentioned Grindelwald, but only briefly. Krum should've been there, you're right, but I understand why they cut it out.

Great review. I disagree on some of your points (to each their own), but I still thought you did a great job reviewing the movie!
And I LOVE your headband! =)
