Nice try Sophie. It's good.......but not great. There's no oomph, or any real bassline. It ain't edgy enough. In fact, there's too much synth! I'm impressed with her attempt, but you cannot improve on perfection. I like you Sophie I really do but, posh people singing cover versions doesn't always work in 'pop'..... Does 'G4' singing 'Bohemian Rhapsody' ring any bells? Like the landscape images... Very nice.

Missing 'the edge' of the original. Sophie has an excellent voice, but not too impressive enough to give the lyrics some kind of body. And the overdone electronic sounding background makes it more sounding like a circus. Cannot feel a murder in this version, just like she was missing in her dancefloor song. Too polite instead of too desperate. Secondbest version of this song!

Nah, the synthesizers of yesteryear sound much 'warmer' & 'organic'. Prophet 5, CS-80, Synclavier et al to name a few.

Vocally SEB is crap and her voice has been patched to the hilt to make her sound in-human on this track!

Think you must be thinking of the punked up B side, "Jewel". This version is a lot sharper than the original, almost like a mix of Duel, and Jewel. Incidentally, a mash up of the two sides of the single can be found on a "best of" album calling itself "Jeweled". This was the mix used for BBC's top gear rally report in the eighties.
