  • hey i want to do a bit of bouncing im 16 now not fully grown yet but how tall do u have to be im also planing on getting my security licence when i can im a good people person been in my fair share of fights and can fight when i have to and only when i have to im might sound like a douch but im not lol just saying help would be great

  • @xXSoRightXx nowadays man, if you fight as a bouncer, you get fired. and probably sued (maybe - but the people you fought usually definitely have the right to sue u/the club, even if they dont). the owner doesnt think your a douche who loves fighting, but as i said, he doesn't want to get sued. a bouncer is security, not a fighter. you CAN get away with it, but dont tell say at the interview "yeah i been in my share of fights" he'll only just say "good for you, there's the door"

  • myself ,done year and half pub work .then when pub shut had to do taxi rank..give me pubs and clubs anytime....

  • I like the subtlety of how they edited in the part that you don't have any reason to carry a baton at 1:55, but the part where he explains that the flashlight he's holding is what you use to beat people with instead is edited out. ^_^

  • @Blahb27 yeah its a big topic and a lot of myths surrounding it so its in another video on the other channel RawSecurityTraining

  • Good video, good advice and no Rambo bullshit, thought I was going to make fun of it.However I was always under the impression that most doormen in Japan were either Yakuza or National Police.

  • @4threconmarine thank you.. yeah, both wrong assumptions and actually illegal for either. Public servants aren't allowed to do second jobs/payed work outside of their own job. That goes for cops/customs/fireies/ambos/you name it.. even a bus driver! true story :-)

  • fuck his japanese is perfect. who is this guy?

  • being a bouncer u mustbe polite to people you hit mem only if thing get out of control

  • haha, I'm impressed that that girl in the background can train while wearing those high heels!

    She must have PERFECT balance!

  • Law On The Door ----- Check out Rhythm is a Bouncer YouTube Clip, The Bouncer code!

  • @lawonthedoor I LOVED IT!

I posted it on my facebook page too! :-D

  • I remember once at a pub in Balmain this Biker told me to "come outside" (to fight obviously). Then I asked him if he was having a bad day. Well he ended up almost crying on my shoulder and walked out as my friend.

  • I am a bouncer in lisbon and all i can say is that is an excelent formation on the realy work that BOUNCER NEEDS TO DO

    execelente video

  • 6'4 320 can I bounce?

  • @debbi3d that's up to you/qualifications and employers.. Size is irrelevant. Most common misconception.

  • @debbi3d yeah well done your tall but fat, people will not respect a fat lazy greesy slob a bouncer should be someone like look tall, well groomed and can handel himself. You are in for a rude awakening when you get stabbed in the belly

  • @debbi3d I'm 6'5" 340 lbs and I can get a job anywhere I want. Don't let the little guys tell you size doesn't give you an advantage.

  • @NowLifeStarts guess you never heard the story of David vs Goliath lol

  • @NowLifeStarts of course u are. no gives a shit u fat cunt, fuck off u smelly fuck

  • @NowLifeStarts It's good to hear there's work out there for the morbidly obese. Mind u it must be shit to find every fight over by the time u get there. Still, the exercise will do u good!!

  • "yes...yes...uh no". very clear instruction.

  • DOne CP work in pretty much every major warzone.

    Bounced in several bars etc

  • Being a bouncer is easy, you just punch the fuck out of anyone who disobeys your orders. And you don't have to be big, you just have to look angry like Robert De Niro.

  • @idontfkinknow1234 ummm.. No.

  • @idontfkinknow1234 and your the kind of person that instead of going home after work gets fucking stabbed for being a smartass to some rich kid

  • @idontfkinknow1234 Total bollocks my friend

  • I am a full time profession Bouncer right now. It is funny how many people we have to physically remove from the property, guys always say things like " It took 3 guys to remove me." What people forget is that it is not a Bouncer's job to fight, but to quickly and as safely as possible remove the patron from the property. Being that I Bounce in L.A. people seem to want to fight. When this happens we use a show of force first and touching a patron is a last resort.

  • Do you think in this day and age you need to be huge to be a bouncer or door supervisor? Ive just recently obtained my SIA Licence which is the door supervisor licence in the UK and am considering my different options with the licence. Im only 5ft 10, about 14 stone so although im not a massive guy, im not exactly thin and plan to bulk up as much as i can. But do you think i would be able to even get a job in this industry or would people see my height and turn me down to look for bigger people?

  • @simons88 Look for a job at venue where your mobility will be a greater asset than your size. Good luck to you. M

  • @simons88 learn how to fight, take some mma lessons, not that you'll necessarily need them but its another plus on your resume, and also if you want to be a door guy always have mace, you can end a fight with out putting yourself in danger by spraying down the area

  • @simons88

why do you need to bulk up to do the job.....people are not bothered by size if you have presence....whats your back ground? you'll most likely get work, companies are employing anyone with a badge due to the sia fucking off loads of good doormen with criminal records.

  • I'm 60kgs and I wear glasses. I don't look for trouble for obvious reasons but some people seem to get off on picking on small guys with glasses. Is there anything I can learn to defend myself against much bigger guys ..in case? In confrontations I back away but sometimes there are those who chase you down. I want something that really works, that will save me from serious injury or worse - nothing artsy. I'm in Sydney. Thanks Luke et. al.

  • @mixedgrain I'd say train Muay Thai. It gives good offensive skills with all shit aside. the best defence is a good offense (when you CAN'T run). Good luck

  • @mixedgrain Make your arms big. Even punks instinctively avoid fucking with guys who have big guns.

  • @oldstock1607 not in my experience mate, I'm not that big a guy, I know.. But I've had cocky little pricks half my size wanna start all the time. Both in Australia and Japan... Size does help, especially when you are trying to restrain/remove people or even grapple when you have to.. but working with steroid junkies is another headache for us average joes too lol

  • @TeamWuJin yes, I'm averaged size myself and have worked at a few clubs over the years here in the U.S. and I know that's true. I was just saying that to this individual since it appears he was just asking how he could avoid being bullied in his everyday life. SOBER guys would be more hesitant to fuck with him if her looked stronger--but you're absolutely right, drunk guys will start shit with anyone.

  • @oldstock1607 oh ok sorry, yeah I wasn't following the conversation. lol

you're right, in general it's good to have some size either way :-)

  • @oldstock1607

I've been considering becoming a doorman for a pub. I've got skinny arms, but a *really* big ass. I want to make the most of what I've got, so any tips on using it to intimidate potential troublemakers?

  • @mixedgrain Hello, i want to give you some sugestions to improve your self-confidence. Violence is the last way to solve a problem, however sometimes is inevitable. To become stronger mental and physically you need to have some good habits: eat (fruit, soja, vegetables, fish, few meat, avoid milk and derivates). Cultivate good breathing (abdominal) through chi kung exercises (iron shirt is excellent), it makes you stronger. Do cardio and do strong afirmations to train your mind for conflicts.

  • 99 times out of 100 you won't even need to use physical force while working as a doorman, or event security. the guys that end up having to get physical either

    A. wanted to get in a fight in the first place

    B. were not paying attention before the problem escalated. in other words not doing their job

a door man with a firm presence, but a pleasant personality will always go further than a guy that wants to test out the newest kung fu move he just learned.

  • @slimj091 agreed.

  • @slimj091 99/100 ??? I would disagree slightly there... I would agree that 'most' people could be talked-down without altercation, but in most party venues in England i would say that punters nowadays are a bit too keen to try it on with the door staff. I also worked in Sydney also in Kings Cross and it was the same there.

  • @slimj091 That's exactly true, I am a doorman on the weekends and a hot club in the city. I am only 155 pounds and I have only had to be physical ONCE, and that was because the crowd was so thick we couldn't get there fast enough. 99% of the time you TALK and WALK them out the door, be friendly and respectful and everything goes just fine.

  • @slimj091 I agree, your presence and tone of voice the words you choose can often stop shit from starting.

  • @slimj091 what club do you work at a chumps club you need to come to USA Ive been working clubs for about 5 years every Saturday something goes down gang fights mostly

I've been stabbed and hit with bottles ive punched and chocked people out i use mostly arm bars and choke holds but choke holds are becoming more illegal so im learning and doing wrist locks

but anyways if your in a club where there drinking theres bound to be fights

  • @antigay7 agreed. Clubs are shit magnets. But I'll tell you from experience, you can't rely on wrist locks.. I've worked with a lot of Jiujitsu guys and I've seen them have a lot of trouble trying to maintain their locks.. I've seen a couple of them take some pretty big slaps in the face from reality actually, but the good thing is it changed their approach to training. Guess the moral here is: It's not what you do but how you do it ;-)

  • @antigay7 I work to a security company in Hungary. We use a kind of wirst lock. If you go to the drunk person softly and talk to him nicely you can touch his arm like a friend and make the wirst lock without his attention. With this little trick the lock can be really effective. And the other benefit of the lock that the others will see that theyre friend just walking away with the bouncer. "we call it walking baby", becouse the guy try to walk on toes to awoid the pain...

  • @slimj091 You're right on that. I worked at one club for almost a year and only had to lay hands on three guys. The line "please don't make me touch you, just leave" worked like a charm for me DOZENS of times, and I'm only 5'10, 205. Smile, welcome them, talk to them like one of their friends, get to know them and they will refrain from being assholes simply because they will feel bad about making you earn your money. Walking around with a chip on your shoulder MAKES people wanna act up.

  • @slimj091 too right. unfortunately way too many guys fit into the first category

  • @slimj091 You gotta stop making assumptions like that... I just assume you've never worked as a bouncer, therefor I wont even discuss it with you. All I can say is that sometimes just get a fist to you face or a girls nail in your eye for some bullshit reason fueled by Alcohol.

  • @slimj091 Yeah, try working a door in Finglas .... good luck.

  • @slimj091

    Well Said Sir ,

Was a doorman about 10 years ago , ex Army & experienced boxer / martial artist , I only ever used presence & a tactful but firm & rational tongue....there are some bouncers I have encountered on club nights out that need a good slap & attitude re-adjustment.

  • @slimj091 yeah that is exactly right, the worst type of bouncer is the insecure one who wants to prove something, like you said if you ask nicely but firmly most people will do what you say

  • @slimj091 bullshit! i was a doorman for 7 years and worked all around Austraila and if a bunch of thugs want to have go all the talking in the world aint going to stop them.i would never do the job again ,it just aint worth it.All these wankers that sook over bouncers ,they should try doing the job.But the cats wont try the job because they just could not stomach the idea of a bunch of louts wanting to try it on

  • Great informative video, Luke. The battles at the end were cool (and fun)

  • Would you recommended getting into security in Australia?

That's kind of the direction I want to head in.

  • Cool vid very informative.

  • Very Sun Tzu of you at 6:45 about using the brain, before the mouth, before the fists. To win without fighting is best, as he says. Interesting vid, very in depth, its comforting to know so much thought goes into that profession.

  • I've done doorman gig's only twice and I didn't enjoy it. Some of us feel the need to but their training to the test though. Both the doorman and the guys we try to keep out...

  • I work uniform security and I've done one gig as a doorman, and now I've gone into being freelancing. I can say that the one gig itself was stressful. It wasn't even a pub lol.

  • @Marty32 hahaha, I know the feelin'

Kids think that being a 'bouncer' or 'bodyguard' is all glamorous!!!

It's simply all shades of shit! lol

  • @TeamWuJin Lol yep. A lot of jobs with responsibility have shades of shit :P I work security cus I like to make sure people are having a safe day, but it's also for the money lol.

  • @TeamWuJin What about those that want to be a bodyguard or a personal protection professional? How would someone who is genuinely interested in the field get started?

  • @ShotCallz get qualified! First do your own industry research, I don't know where you are but first of all you need an education (Security & Risk Management) and then training. Look on my other Channel, there is some good advice: RawSecurityTraining

  • @TeamWuJin

totally... i bounce in the US and have done bars, clubs, even accompany private dancers at parties... all shades of shit hahaha

the glove thing is great though a nice slim pair of biker gloves with plastic knuckles is great
