Yes, lifts are queer for daily drivers that rarely go off-road. They make handling worse and decrease fuel economy.
The Chevy 350 is one of the best motors ever made, but it's old tech and in the iteration you have, it's terribly de-tuned and slower than shit. It's not any worse than the other gas motors of its time though. At least it didn't shit out spark plugs like the Fords did.
The Powerstroke and Cummins were the only decent truck motors during the 90s.
The 6.6 liter Duramax is produced by DMAX, a joint venture between GM and Isuzu in Moraine, Ohio. NOT JAPAN This is for all you dipshits that think you know. some of the powerstrokes were built in brazil though.

@boosteddiesel Those weren't GM diesels any more than the current Duramax. The 6.2 and 6.5 were Detroit Diesels. At the time GM owned a large portion of Detroit Diesel, the same as they owned a large portion of Isuzu.

If you need something cheaper, go with an early powerstroke 7.3L, 7.3L IDI, or early 12v cummins. They're all rock solid reliable. The GM 6.2L has block issues and the 6.5L has injector pump issues. Both are shitty, but the 6.5L is less shitty.
I just want to say, for all of these would-be bigots in here, This truck is putting out alot of HP for a Duramax. BUT, Camaros, Trans Ams, and Eclipses alike all have their place in automotive world. Any car owner who actually knows their stuff, and i mean really knows, (as in what exactly the fine print means), has their right to express his or her opinions about their vehicle. I own a 92 Eclipse GSX and i believe i can get that thing going pretty fast, but its nothing compared to this truck!

Yes, lifts are queer for daily drivers that rarely go off-road. They make handling worse and decrease fuel economy.
The Chevy 350 is one of the best motors ever made, but it's old tech and in the iteration you have, it's terribly de-tuned and slower than shit. It's not any worse than the other gas motors of its time though. At least it didn't shit out spark plugs like the Fords did.
The Powerstroke and Cummins were the only decent truck motors during the 90s.

The 6.6 liter Duramax is produced by DMAX, a joint venture between GM and Isuzu in Moraine, Ohio. NOT JAPAN This is for all you dipshits that think you know. some of the powerstrokes were built in brazil though.

I'm surprised this truck doesn't leave black marks half way down the street...even my uncle's Duramax can do that and it's only chipped.

@ryankovacs100 with good tires and clean asphalt, and maybe not quite full throttle launch, i believe that's a 1000 pony truck, or at least close to it. if a top fuel dragster can keep 8000 hp in check, i think a 4x4 could handle 1000.

They were non-turbo'd, very doggy not much power and they were just all around pieces of crap. And i have no personal vendetta against them they are just really badly built engines. Then the 6.5 after it was just as crappy. Stay away from GM diesels they didnt work, why do you think GM has the duramax now? its designed by Izuzu

@boosteddiesel Those weren't GM diesels any more than the current Duramax. The 6.2 and 6.5 were Detroit Diesels. At the time GM owned a large portion of Detroit Diesel, the same as they owned a large portion of Isuzu.

If you need something cheaper, go with an early powerstroke 7.3L, 7.3L IDI, or early 12v cummins. They're all rock solid reliable. The GM 6.2L has block issues and the 6.5L has injector pump issues. Both are shitty, but the 6.5L is less shitty.

I just want to say, for all of these would-be bigots in here, This truck is putting out alot of HP for a Duramax. BUT, Camaros, Trans Ams, and Eclipses alike all have their place in automotive world. Any car owner who actually knows their stuff, and i mean really knows, (as in what exactly the fine print means), has their right to express his or her opinions about their vehicle. I own a 92 Eclipse GSX and i believe i can get that thing going pretty fast, but its nothing compared to this truck!
