hey it could be handy say you need to go to the bathroom lat eat night and what do you usually do in a ohtel room get up stimble around finally get your bearings straight and get walking and then WHAM theres the end of the bed right on your little toe with the switch it gives you light so you can see. just a thought though

The golden colored cable is not electrically connected to the terminals of that wallswitch, guy... somebody merely screwed on the wallswitch cover plate over that golden colored cable that has nothing to do with the bathroom light. The installer should have moved cable away from cover. But I enjoy how you've taken the time to show the world how easy it is to make foreign things seem dangerous and stupid.

Trouble was there were several things "wrong" with the installation, not the least of which is that a two wire zip cord was apparently feeding the light above the bed and in the bathroom, No ground wire. Bad thing is people do this type of thing every day. People need to leave electrical installations to someone qualified or get the training necessary so they don't kill someone with their mistakes.

Okay...Yes you are right, it is a three way coming from the corresponding three way switch installed in the washroom. But am I the only one that is able to identify that the lamp cord is just running behind the switch plate, so it is tight to the wall. It has nothing to do with the switch feed! I hope this person who sent the video is not an electrician, I would hate to have him troubleshoot something for me!

this is not a three way switch because when this switch is on, you cant turn the bathroom light off with the switch in the bathroom. the switches are wired parallel and only one switch will control the light at a time. the cord that goes into the wall and then back out to the lamp does feed the switch because when I unplugged the lamp cord the switch stopped working. I should've showed more details, but I was recording on a cell phone that could only do a few min. of video.

The code exists, its the "NOM 001 SEDE 2005" the problem is that the inpections only are mede in the big construccion sites, the residential or small busnies are not check in the small details, only de substasions and the primari panel bords are check.

Y tienes toda la razón... desgraciadamente existen, muchos lugares como este que no cumplen con los requerimentos solicitados por la Norma Oficial Mexicana: NOM-001 (erróneamente nombrada por tí como el "MEC" que posiblemente lo ideaste de esa forma por su similar en tu país llamado NEC). Como sea... existen este tipo de detalles en la mayoria de los hoteles 3 estrellas en México y en E.U.A. No hay nada de que espantarse !!!
