Most of the BG's are also encrypted as well.

ive actually decided against FFVI Hacking right now, so im gonna make an RPG Maker 2003 game first, i just want to get a LITTLE programming knowledge first before tackling something as complicated as this

Where's the dialogue font located?

That shows the menu font, not the dialogue font.

Actually, I may be wrong. I don't know how to exactly get that font without using FF3 Edit. :s

All I can suggest is to browse around the rom with YY-CHR for it until you find it. I don't believe that it's compressed.

also, would you mind telling me the offsets for those kind of things? like the menu and ATB bar?

The ATB bar is with the font (look for the bigger "===" things).

The Menu is at offset: 2D0100

Remember that the menu uses 4BPP and the font uses 2BPP GB.

This program can do much more than just edit fonts.

If you've seen my latest few videos, you'll notice that I modified the actual borders around the menu. :)

Depending on whether your ROM was with a header or not, other people may have to look back/forward $200 from that offset.

I just finished importing the number font from Mario RPG and a few icons from Chrono Trigger. Now for the regular A-Z text. Thanks for the help Zeemie :)

Nice tut! I had to do it like this as well once FF3edit started corrupting my rom after any save.
