  • AronRa and Matt Dillahunty , a deadly combo.

  • i hate that i just found out about this and i live in houston. fuck!

  • Of course we ALL know the books weren't already bias to start with, lol.

  • *AronRa closes his statement* *Puff* "Thank you" .....Pure Win!

  • when i see the likes of mr mcleroy in a position to alter such facts for the brainwashing of children it makes me think of the hitler youth and well see what happened there, however it gives me hope that the aron ra is there to hopefully highlight the religious propaganda and prevent these things from happening, great work aron ra gives me hope that america can be made truly a great country free of religious bigotry oh and by the way i am irish looking from the outside in.

  • Oceania was always at war with Eurasia

  • Oceania was always at war with Eastasia

  • Yeh Stand up to Experts - people that know more than you do on a subject and have a grip on the real world.

Having to fiddle with facts and change history is a clear admission they have nothing but a tissue of lies and falsehoods that can not stand scrutiny. That they are been manipulated to pave the way for a Theocratic Dictatorship and a return to the horrors of the middle ages and the slaughter that went with it. NO F.... THANKS

Protect the truth or face the consequences in the Future.

  • This is filthy, disgusting 1984 shit right here. Common knowledge conflicts with their ideology so they're gonna strike it out. Fuck that, we're gonna win in the end. We must take a stand and become politically active. Too long have we taken a back seat in the political process for the sake of "tolerance"

  • This is awful, religious fundamentalists can alter text books in the US ? Terrifying !

  • How did they vote in these imbeciles? Are they still in office?

  • Oh for fucks sake can we just secede texas and let it be it's own seperate country, most people from there consider it that way anyway.

  • This is quite frankly one of the most horrifying things I've seen recently. Yeah, BoE, stand up to those experts. What do things like "relevant knowledge" and "years of study in the relevant field" mean in the face of what some people sure do like to believe.

  • I live in Texas... someone kidnap me and take me to Ohio

  • Quakers were not "at war" with anyone, nor were most of the religious groups in the US "at war"; there were some persecutions early on and a witch hunt or two, and some Indian wars, but there was never a savage war fought along purely religious lines as one person in this video suggests. For example, Puritan Massachusetts did not declare war on Quaker Pennsylvania and attack Philadelphia with the aim of imposing their harsh religious views.

  • This is truly warped and sick.

  • The United States of America is so badly broken.

Fundamentalists are stealing your country and shitting all over your personal liberties.

This isn't a revision or reinterpretation of history , this is outright fabrication.

I know my country Canada has lots of problems ,as do most countries, but the USA is becoming a theocracy and most people don't even see it.

  • Like most of you out there, I have watched all of AronRa's videos, and also Thunderfoot's. In my opinion, we need people like these two to create a stable education system in this country. Science and mathematics should be center focus...not bhadha mo-homed, or geezus etc.

  • @psychomantiskiller They rely on science for most everything. But they argue that Evolution is bad science, though when pressed as to their reasons why they say that, it quickly becomes evident that they oppose the very scientific method it and every other avenue of science is based upon.

  • Nobody knows how many Chinese people died building America's railroads because nobody bothered to count them.

  • Texans, adding many steps on Americas path to a theocracy.

No offense to you AronRa, obviously, i mean the ones like the board of "education" there

  • This guy is a fucking fool

  • I have one problem with this - why should we not include the words of Davis? As long as the words aren't changed, isn't that just teaching history?

  • @red666111

The intent of including Davis' words was not historical. The idea was to present a case against freeing slaves. The news didn't go into detail, likely to remain politically correct, but further investigation (such as noticing the proposed description of the Civil Rights Movement as "unrealistic") reveal this to be the case.

  • @TheZooCrew I don't think something should be kept out of history just because as a country we wish to forget it. Again, I'm talking a bit from ignorance here as I haven't seen the passage in question, but if by "case against freeing slaves" you mean the south's justification for having slaves, why should this be kept out of textbooks? It happened in our past; we should learn about it. Now, if the passage is promoting slavery and saying Davis was right, then ya, that shouldn't be there.

  • i'm starting to think religion might be the downfall of the USA empire. The well being we enjoy due to science and technology is enableing stupid people to survive with crazy beliefs and if they do crazy things, medecine saves em. and they tend to reproduce more and at younger age (won't use contraception...) while better equipped individuals tend to have less kids, resulting in a lowering of general IQ. We may become so stupid as destroying ourselves as previous civilisations did. Makes sense?

  • @ErgoProxy12345 yes but it would be fallacy to assume that ignoramuses beget ignoramuses. did you want to grow up like your father or mother (dependent on your corresponding gender)? a lot of people vow to be unlike their parents (whether it works is another issue) or recognize the fallacy in archaic beliefs

  • @psychomantiskiller maybe, but if an entire population stop believing in heliocentricism (for example), they will not teach it to the next generation and it might take hundreds of years to re-discover what we did since the knowledge might have become unavailable to them. Also, in the short span of the stupid generation, even if the next might be entirely geniuses, damage could be done that is so big it might be irreversible.

  • @AronRa I'm not looking to sue her, she's a pretty cool teacher and I'd hate to make such a big deal out of it. However, I will go to such measures if there's anything like that in biology next year, because that's what I plan on getting a college education for.

  • @AronRa Well yes, there are indications of Moses' exodus being an actual historic event, as well as Abraham's settlement in Canaan. But what really pushed it is that she showed us a video showing several archaeologists that uncovered apparent evidence of the slavery of the Israelites. When I looked it up from different sources, the paintings in Egypt showed Egyptians fighting the Israelites. It amazes me how that can be stated as actual history.

  • @pat5168 the ironic thing is that particular names such as "Canaan" are not usually found in the Bible (in this case that is not true, but it is an ancient and very large, thus ambiguously described, region today, so any accuracy is impossible), or are confusing and contradictory (was Moses' mountain Sinai or Horeb? were they different mountains? do they still have basis in modern geography?) thus rely on modern science and technology for such inferences.

  • @psychomantiskiller The Moses described in the bible hasn't even been shown to have existed.

  • @pat5168 But the mountain may have been based in fact. I'm just pointing out that Creationists rely on science to support their claims. And come one, how could you not believe that a man could fast for 40 days and live 200 years?

  • 9:34 It's The Undertaker! ;)

  • @AronRa I find it ironic that those who say that they develop their morals from the bible are those who cherry pick from it. That in itself displays that their morality is not founded nor relevant to it in any way. Also, the history in my class has gone downhill, the textbooks and teacher talk of the Flood, Moses' exodus, and many other things only found in the bible which was wrote thousands or year later as if it accurately describes events-as fact.

  • @pat5168

    Change schools.

  • @pat5168 You may be in a position where you could sue the teacher or the school. Can you gather proof that the teacher -and especially the textbook- talk about Noah's flood or the exodus as if either story was actually an historic event?

  • Er, Thumbs-up if you reckon the warlock-lookin' dude who pops up halfway through don't help the cause none lol. [Foghorn Leghorn] "YA know, I say YA KNOW he's got hisself a BONG in his PICK-UP, son!!!!''

  • Of course, it probably doesn't matter how they try to explain themselves..

  • Superb videos, I've really enjoyed them. I've just one question, about the cut in the interview clip at 2:28 (and possibly any others). With all respect, was that intentional, or had you found the clip like that?

  • Orwell is well and alive over there:

the original concentration camps rented off their slave labour to corporations, your private prisons doing the same is paving way for the very darkest hours!

Don´t let yourself become accustomed to this total capitalism...

  • The only thing missing on Don McLeroy is a white sheet and a hood.

  • @SteadyD4Jesus

"Just a mindless creationist question that's all."

Well, you answered your own question. Congratulations.

  • @SteadyD4Jesus You should understand that most 'evolutionists' are Christian, and that most Christians are evolutionist. As for the second fallacy, why should we care that there are too many mouths to be fed by those who can never get their education -and thus be productive- if they're spending all their time producing babies they can't adequately support? Did you really just ask that question? Dude, what is wrong with you?

  • @AronRa evidence that most evolutionists are Christians? saying it doesn't make it true.

  • @Knightmare44 I provide that evidence in the 1st FFoC.

  • @SteadyD4Jesus Religion has no need of morals. That's why it doesn't have any. However social animals -by necessity- require that their individuals be compliant with the needs and function of the community as a whole. Aberration is restricted while altruism is supported. That means evolving a sense of empathy for family, friends, and fellows, where religion promotes prejudice instead.

  • @SteadyD4Jesus Because actual morality and ethics (not arbitrary rules telling you not to cook baby goats in their mothers' milk, nor rules telling you to kill certain people (e.g. unruly kids), in violation of the 10 commandments (confusing much?)) benefit society, i.e. all people that are born (and then survive for any meaningful amount of time).

  • @SteadyD4Jesus What's more, if kids are having kids, on account of such things as epigenetics and other factors, the kids that are born of kids might not be the healthiest/best developed/best cared for. Then again, prolifers never seem to actually care about the quality of the lives they're trying to save. All that matters is that the births do occur, and you can pull a Pontius Pilate at that point, right?

  • @SteadyD4Jesus

Do you need to be more than an animal to have morals? If so, why?

  • @SteadyD4Jesus Secular Humanism is for 'square' Atheists, you could say.(sarcasm) Morals and ethics are the name of the game. Some of us don't need a book of fairy tales to know that killing, stealing, cheating and kicking puppies is wrong. Have a Jesus filled day.

  • @SteadyD4Jesus you were right, that WAS a pretty mindless question...

  • @SteadyD4Jesus "Why would an evolutionist care if there are multiple teen pregnacys? Isn't procreating good for evolution?"

Evolution's goals =/= human goals. Evolution doesn't tell us what to do. Evolution is just something that happens. WE, humans, get to decide what our goals are.

  • lol

  • That guy fucking fails hahahahahahahahahaha

  • What a dooooosh.....

  • Is it true Texas has the highest high school dropout rate in America?

  • It doesn't surprise me that a 'pathological liar who doesn't even realize he's lying anymore' (that's pronounced "fundamentalist Christian") would have no qualms whatsoever about rewriting history. After all, fundies adapt the world around them everyday to their personal worldview by rejecting as many facts as they deem necessary to keep their beliefs alive.

  • Gah! Another self-righteous right-winger attempting to monopolize American history.

  • "Somebody's gotta stand up to the experts"..... and why exactly? Wouldn't you think that the experts generally is more knowledgable than you?

  • @KamasutraButterfly yeah he seems able and competent enough to stand up to these shadowy experts. after all, his grasp of history and science seems wide ranging and insightful.....

  • From Romania to Texas's future generations:

If those religious nuts are still in power, you are fucked.

At least here, as poor as we are when scientists speak, the rest listen.

  • im scared...

  • I actually had a class at my university on Jefferson. In Hungary! Okay, I did go to the American Studies course.

  • This is REALLY disturbing. Does anyone know what happened after this? Did people raise hell?

  • @gerandomiseerd We noncrazy Texans gave a good fight but i'm not sure how it truned out in the end

  • "Propaganda" becoming "public education" says it all.

  • these people are dangerous, stupid yes, but, don't turn your back. You may get a knife in it.

  • Hypothetical christian science class- Good morning students. "GOD DID IT", class dismissed. Good luck on the MCAT.

  • WOW! Don McLeroy a former cheerleader!!! I bet he must have looked really cute prancing around in a mini skirt waving pom pom! Yeah, I can see it now! A dentist and a Christian Fundamentalist. Hey! That rhymes! He's just another moronic Christard Funny-mentalist BUY-BULL thumper! He should go back to fixing teeth. No, I take that back! Since he rejects science he probably puts his patients under by thumping them on the head with a wooden mallet like they did in the 19th century! What a MORON!

  • @whadjison bravo to you then. i feel sorry for the likes of you, having to deal with these morons in Texas. And 'm sure there are more sane ones like you.

  • Totally agree with this guy. The experts are totally trying to fuck us non-experts. DOWN WITH THE EXPERTS!

  • It's great Texas is revising the revisions, that ought to clear it all up....finally....

  • former cheerleader? I think that may be another closet gay fundementalist christian

  • Wow Texas is a laughing stock, I feel sorry for rational people who are victims of this.

  • wow, it seems like whatever texas does that involvs religon morally disgusting and unconstitutional

  • You look cool when you smoke at the end there. I dont think Clint Eastwood could do it better

  • Sounds like Joseph Goebbels at work.

  • Does any school in America teach that for the first 15 months of the civil war it was about power & not slavery? Do they teach that Lincoln was a racist who wanted to deport all blacks from the continent? Do they teach that the war was started because the north was strangling the south with tariffs? Do they teach that McCarthy's fears were justified & he was right? If you don't want that then you're arguing for one form of revisionism over another.

  • @KenMacMillan I hope not. They shouldn't be lying to students.

  • @DejectedPanda It's all true. You would also have to say that in the 18th century the lower class spent all their free time in the most common business in the country, bars with brothels attached to them. They were racially integrated, drank around 7 gallons of alcohol a year, & missed work on a regular basis. There were signs that racism was going away before the civil rights movement, MLK abused white prostitutes but was embraced because of fear of Malcolm X's violence.

  • They will not be happy until we are dragged back to the dark ages. And some states seem to be so willing to help that along. They all seem to have some sort of idealized 1950's fantasy where everything was a white christian sexist creationist farce. We can not travel back to that time because Nostalgia is never a real place. When we truly look back we can see that it never was as we picture it in our minds.

  • "I disagree with this experts, somebody has to stand up..." .. WTF? this moron thinks he can challenge people who dedicate their lives to study something and thousands and thousands of hours of hard work and research etcetera? this man suffers of delusions of grandeur...

  • Aronra... I like you; I respect you; I love your channel. But your state sucks.

  • Funny, all the science teachers i've had hear in this great state were either Atheist, Agnotics, and one Hindu. Than again, i live in San Antonio and not backwards Dallas.

  • Why can just anybody essentially get on these boards?

  • @biggingeryeti

    Democracy in action brother

  • @majselxop But none of these people are essentially qualified to decide what should and shouldn't go into text books. We get to chose political leaders based on what their party stands for or wants to implement but we don't decide what to teach, that is left to people who know what they are talking about.

  • @biggingeryeti

Well in case you haven't noticed the voices of reason and science is a minority group and democracy is all about majority rule

  • @majselxop I agree that people should be able to vote about certain things. But not about what science is and what is taught. Truth is not decided by majority. Would you get a diagnosis by asking loads of people what they thought? No, you would trust your Dr or get a second opinion form another Dr. You wouldn't put it up for a vote. Did you get to vote on going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq?

  • What a disgusting sight, and these are the people who claim to be patriots.

  • mjhacker wrote to me:"Fail.Regardless of the beliefs of the founders of this country, the fact of the matter is that they established a secular nation with secular principles and even outright said that America was NOT a Christian nation." Umm, mjhacker--FAIL. See, e.g., Youtube video, "Our Judeo-Christian Nation": youtube.com/watch?v=dpQOCvthw-o DO YOUR HOMEWORK, you smarmy twits.

  • thats fuckin scary. and the thought that this is happening in my state just gives me chills.

  • LOL...the US is so entertaining! Xtian extremists FTW.

  • LOL Is that a blunt your smoking? Naw I am sure it is a cigar.

  • his argument was, i told you i was a bigot, and you elected me to the Texas school board so what did you expect.

  • The same Aronra who criticizes the idea that God is too stupid to write the bible so Christians have to tell him what it means now wants to tell people the secret meaning of the constitution.

Matt even called quoting the constitution a word game (7:06).

  • @MrShoeguy Have you ever ever f**king read it?

  • @MrShoeguy Ugh. Good lord, you're dumb.

  • @MrShoeguy You're not listening. He didnt the constitution is a word game, he said creationists were playing word games with it. Tell me how you can have freedom of religion without freedom from religion? You wouldn't want the government to promote Islam above all in schools, why should it be different for any religion?

  • This is superbly horrifying. Historical accuracy is rare enough as it is; past events before a certain point can't be observed or studied. Compromising the little of it we have is beyond damning to future generations.

  • and they try to tell you that racism doesn't exist LMAO

  • This is... shocking. But I suppose there's been a problem with education for a while or else these people would never be in a position of power to make it yet worse. So I suppose the impact of this retard's agenda wouldn't be that great. >.>

  • This is how the books of the Bible were put together. A bunch of pedophiles decided which stories were going to be used and re-written to benefit their needs at the time. Now we have religion taking another crack at our history books. Our for fathers saw this coming and put provisions in the constitution.

  • These scary christians are more of a threat to this county than any radical Mulims will ever be. They believe they are in the right because they "believe in God" and that in itself should make anyone leary of them - Christians are evil! Beware of them and their ignorance.

  • These scary christians are more of a threat to this county than any radical Mulims will ever be. They believe they are in the right because they "believe in God" and that in itself should make anyone leary of them - Christians are evil!

  • Amon, i am growing my hair long in honor of you!!

  • ...and to think, some of the kids educated by this system will grow up to have their fingers on the trigger of the most destructive arsenal on the planet.

  • 10:00 he looks like "the undertaker"

  • Let them dig their own hole...

  • This is fucking scary... And I know that's an understatement.

  • Idiot bible thumpers in the US embarrassing us normal people in front of the rest of the world.

  • @GZR700526 You mean idiot Bible thumpers from the US embarrassing us non bible humpers from the US. These people disgust me. I swear if I have a child and it's getting preached any religion beyond its historical value (or lack-thereof) to our world, I will raise hell. Mother fucking Bible humping fuckwits.

  • @GZR700526 I actually felt inspired by the voices in opposition. I will try to shine that light on the greater American populace rather than making a generalisation based on the malignant ignorance of a bunch of anti intellectual, inbred, religious wankers.

  • Give a man a little power he rules for a day, teach him how to acquire power and it goes to his head. The more power we have the less freedom we enjoy. Apparently not only is history written by the victors, it's also rewritten.

  • Whenever I'm in a good mood, in my happy place and want to get pissed off at the Fundies and what's happening to my Country, all I have to do is watch this video!

  • Hope that's a blunt

  • Some one has to stand up to these experts and show them how to be ignorant.

  • This shit constantly gets passed through, under the noses of intellectuals. How can people be so unbelievably irresponsible.

  • Wow, so they want to use propaganda to change history - with blatant racist undertones - and one of the first things they do is change the word of what they are doing and exchange it with "public education"...?

Well, I guess that Hitler only engaged in "public education" when he spread his hate against the jews, just as they are when they distort history and openly try to omit blacks and hispanics from the history books...

    Holy crap!

  • Two things that piss me off: Christian fundamentalists & Republicans.

  • @kevoishere1 As time goes on, those two terms become less and less mutually exclusive.

  • @kevoishere1 You forgot Democrats in that equation. Dems, different sides same coin or don't you agree?

  • @kevoishere1 You forgot Democrats in that equation. Dems, different side, same coin or don't you agree?

  • @TheDano1947 Ok, but still better than Republicans.

  • That Christian group is the most ridiculous idea ever. The entire group should be removed from this country for their stupidity. I can't believe that the Texas board is even considering this bull shit. Separation of church and state is there for a reason. If this idea passes the kids of Texas should go around burning all of the text-books.

  • Wah cool atheist texan style ! Way to go guys, cheers from France, where laicité prevails.

  • Someone's gotta stand up to experts? Yeah, if they're saying something against which you have proof. Standing up against them just because their research has shown evidence that goes against your personal beliefs? Fuck off!

  • @grimordwow if someone stands up to the experts, either you have other experts doing it, which would mean they too need people to stand up to them, or they aren't experts and have power to overrule anyone! okay, i'm english but this stuff is basically making people dumber so they can have their view, it's horrible.

  • This is truly disturbing I have previously heard about the Texas board and how they were predominately Christian Conservatives, but I never thought the process could actually involve editing History and Science for personal beliefs

Being from the UK I think I take my knowledge of the history of the US for granted.. I would have assumed Americans in general would have an even more in depth and accurate account taught in their schools. Religion mixed with politics should not really surprise me.

  • I didn't catch her name, but the lady in the white hat is the smartest one on the panel.

Welcome to the (nearly) Peoples Republic of Texas.

  • "Somebody's gotta stand up to EXPERTS..."

.... and speak up for the retards who get offended when reality doesn't agree with their crap!

  • history will indict these liars.

  • @ursodacortesia i don't know how education is in the rest of the country but in wisconsin, i feel i got a real education. we were taught about the theory of evolution and exactly how to apply the word theory in science. we were taught pros and cons of america's history regarless of how it favored a religion or not.

i understand that the state of education is ridiculous in the us but please, do not lump my state in with this group of bigots.

  • Religious fundamentalists in the US are really polluting american culture and corrupting society. fanaticism, intolerance, racism, facism, economic explotation, obscurantism towards science, that's all they promote, albeit with fancy or euphemistic names.

  • Somebody has to stand up to experts. Somebody has to tell doctors that antibiotics do not work!!! What a moronic douchebag.

  • @ahmedeox

"Somebody has to stand up to experts. Somebody has to tell doctors that antibiotics do not work!!! What a moronic douchebag."

We already have many imbeciles saying antibiotics doesn't work. Deepak Shopra and all the new age movement.

The new age movement is pretty much the same as creationism. They choose ignore evidence and be wilfully ignorant, its just the the fairy tale they choose to believe that's different.

  • @UrsoDaCortesia Do not get me started on all that bullshit. What's worse about the New Age mumbo jumbo is that they are even more arrogant than your plain vanilla religious guy.

  • He'll take us back to the days when men worked hard and long and people were friendly and cared. We should separate Texas into groups or better yet make it were not everyone but almost everyone on ur street I mean land would like to be out doors working. I give a yehaww!! To those who work hunt fish ride and eat to live to their Texas-country lifestyle. Texas is a country religion so yall down west give a yell to be lucky to live in this buetifull peaceful country state of Texas.

  • Public Education was only meant to educate people to a point of being useful employees but not educated enough to challenge the leaders position of power.

  • @Silkfox

I wouldn't say that at all. I'm currently in a public university. There are countless resources at the disposal of the student. The problem is the motivation to do anything other than the bare minimum. However, more cannot be required or we'd see failing students all over the place even more so than we do now. Public education merely sets a reasonably low benchmark...anyone who wants to learn more simply needs more motivation.

  • @Silkfox

I agree that sometimes the situation certainly seems to be the way you describe, but these "leaders" aren't around forever and many of them were simply the more motivated among us who chose to go a certain route. But look at guys like Jon Stewart. He was the valedictorian of his class at Yale...no doubt ahead of future Senators and Representatives. His profession involves lambasting said classmates. We have the tools. We just need the fortitude to use them.

  • Does anyone know what ever happened with this? Did all this get passed or over-ruled?

  • @spamllpitdept Passed, until someone changes the board. And let's face it, it's not gonna change when their dumbing down children to think like them.

  • @crazyinsane500 - wtf, will the other states still follow their lead or did this make other states change their minds about following the lead of this backwards state?

  • @spamllpitdept They're starting up another wave right now. Check the Texas Freedom Network.

  • @AronRa

i must say, i saw you on the "Athiest experience"

you re a very smart man, and the world needs more people like you.

  • Comment removed

  • @newfagscanttrif0rce - huh? Your reply had nothing to do with my comment's content.

  • @spamllpitdept

Sorry i replied to the wrong person.

  • religion is a cancer consuming this nation, I wonder if we'll last if this shit keeps happening.

  • This is what happens when education is influenced by religion. You get a bunch of backwards ass Texans.

  • "Somebody's gotta stand up.... to experts".

  • @mandolinroad haha
