@Jimster666 Did it not occur to you that he sings that line, not because he thinks he's great, is because while he was starting out people were taking some credit for songs he had written, hence the lyrics "name's on the credits and you didn't write nothing". It's easy to take any lyrics out of context and make what you will of them but you've got to listen to the whole song, or at least know about what the artist is singing about before you make assumptions that they "think they are great"
