Do you think it's easy to snap the plate when doing this cause it looks awfully fragile, and do you recommend me to do this when i get my Diana f+ brand new?
i just got a diana f+ and i loaded my film upside down i think. the numbers show up upside down, is that bad? im new to the camera game so idk this shit, haha get back to me asap please. thank you
Hey Kai, i was wondering if this would help me to make sure that there is a little less slack in my film when I load it? because I seem to have a problem with I'm loading my film that there is too much slack i the film and there is almost no tension when I'm winding the film..
Also, do you have any idea how I could 'tighten' the film that is already in a camera?
obviously I'd have to open the camera up in a dark room.. but then that do I do?
@MrTerTer The bottom plate is plastic. Bend it where there is a "fold" in the plastic, where it comes off the bottom part of the camera into the film compartment.
Thank you!! extremely helpful, but when I put the piece back in it doesn't stay in place very well on the right side, did i just not use enough pressure?
Hello- It sounds like something is a little out of alignment. Sometimes the back can be a little difficult to get on straight. When I am having trouble like this, you can sometimes get the back to seat more squarely by gently wiggling it left and right, until it seats evenly. If this doesn't solve the problem, if you are still in the loading stage, pop open the back and check to make sure the take up spool is aligned on the bottom tab.
Hi, your videos are really helpful, i had to watch them on xmas day to work out how to load my camera as the instructions were terrible! anyway, i suspect i may have ruined 2 rolls of films with bad loading.. my first roll came out fine but ever since ive had to move the take up spool myself theyve been comng out a little slack... i.e with some film over the plastic...will these be ruined? im debating whether to get them developed or not?
If the rolls weren't wound tight, and spill over slightly on the takeup spool, you might get some light leaks or flashed film on the edges where the film was exposed to light. These are not necessarily ruined. Depending on how loose the roll is, it may only affect a few frames, and might be worth processing, if you think you have something interesting on the rolls.
