i never realized how white Bruce is until i heard this,,,,ugg--check out the version Todd Rundgren and Daryl Hall do,,,,they do it justice-----and dont get me wrong I been a Bruce fan since '77
the only reason my comment as it was is because i,m the drummerJOHN--BEEDO--DZUBAK AND CHARLIE AND RICHIE--are my favorites. BRUCE YOUR GREAT.THANK YOU FOR BRINGING BACK A GREAT SONG. THANKS AGAIN.---CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE----FROM THE 74 ALBUM. DO IT,DO IT.
Actually, it was Charlie Ingui singing lead on The Soul Survivors' hit, along with his brother Richie, who sang "Oooo took too long". The tune was written by the legendary Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff and was their 1st million seller. Kenny Jeremiah did, however, sing spendid backround on the record, but to call it "his song" is a bit of a stretch! Kudos to "The Boss" & his band for a fine cover of a great song! Thanx for posting, s1buy!!!
i was there last night last minute tickets all the way up and i couldnt envy that kid more. i was literally crying when bruce let him sing and gave him his harmonica...im 16 yrs old and thats my biggest dreaaam! luckiest kid ever!
Hey! I was there that night! Saw your son, lucky kid. Though, as they were leaving, I happened to be right near the railing where the exit was. I got to hold Bruce's hand for a good 5 seconds, and he gave me his guitar pick! :D He also called me awesome. First Bruce concert, neverrr going to forget it.
The band that originally made this song is The Soul Survivors...my Grandpa was the drummer.

@jrmrinaz Dude, the guys singing on the Hall and Oates clip were Charlie and Richie Ingui, the leaders of the Soul Survivors.
yankeespy3 6 months ago
@yankeespy3 no they werent-- the clip I am refering to has Todd Rundgren singing lead and Daryls---live from Daryls house band--not soul survivors
jrmrinaz 6 months ago
@jrmrinaz You're right. God I hate it when The Boss plays a cover in the style of The Boss. He should play less like The Boss. Yeah.

Bruce give it up,that is the worst cover ever
ringo244 1 year ago
Clarence should have taken the "baby I took too long" hook. That would complimented Bruce.

didn't expect this to be a good version, its good to be wrong once in a while. for what its worth there's a decent version by Amen Corner as well

I love it when a band looks like they have having a fun instead of working and just going through the motions.

No, when they were just leaving the colisseum from the exit near the stairs. The one right next to the railing.
