  • I loved that they thought of 1997 as "The Future"

  • Is it just me or seeing the WTC being so promienent and a plane going into a building give anyone else a major case of the creeps?

  • Vvvvvv wtf is her talking about.. Vvvv man both movies where awesome they need to make one last one before he gets way to old... Like they did Rambo

  • Tony Romo as snake plissken!! In xscape frm NY reloaded!! Eli is a fag!!

  • classic

  • Why is there an eye in the backfround, 0:32 ?

  • is this the movie where he had to play basketball in some scene or somthing? i have an old flashback

  • @muzimuzi

That would be "Escape from L.A."

  • @muzimuzi That happened in Escapae from LA.

  • lee van cleef more fun to watch in this movie than goldie hawn's bf.

with big boobed wife of director carpenter.

  • The Balls.

  • escape from new york -is one of my favorite movies gi joe 989.

  • After living in NY the past decade, this film is more prescient than ever. Sometimes you literally can't escape this place, aka Mordor. Fun movie.

  • love the trailer song!

  • Sorry, but this trailer sux. I could make it several times better, and maybe a little bit better than anyone else, cause everyone can make one much better than my first "better."

  • @furyberserk youre an idiot

  • wow snake and zangief in the same movie

  • looks like my kind of movie - terrible dialogue and excessive violence

  • Awseome film

  • This film just uses sci fi to set up the story. There's nothing futuristic about this movie

  • I just need to know how is this film any way related to science fiction?

  • when the music comes in at 0:35...so good.

  • I love Carpenter, but it's hilarious just how inaccurate his 1997 New York is.

  • @Hypermammal Not as inaccurate as Double Dragon's 2007 is. The difference? Escape from NY was great, Double Dragon wasn't.

  • this is Snake, do u read me Otacon.

  • I hope there is never a remake because it will FAIL.

  • @maccagrabme also doomsday was pretty good and i heard theres a new madmax movie too

  • @maccagrabme i heard they got that guy from the hurt locker he might play snake and also i found a trailer for the prequel to the thing but its low quality

  • 911

  • old and nice music

  • I think the problem with most of todays action films is that they're constantly trying to thrill and amaze you. But there really isn't much suspense, and don't get me started on the overuse of explosions. I think what really makes an action film great is suspense, and Escape From New York has plenty of that.

  • I thought you were dead

  • I'm going to DragonCon as Snake Plissken; I can't wait

  • I'm pretty sure the comics got most of Wolverine's persona from the Snake Plissken character here. It's too bad Kurt Russell is too old to play Wolverine

  • what is this shit? old like my granny!

  • Very nice and atmospheric Action/Adeventure/SCI-FI/Thriller movie. Kurt Russel was superb hero. John Carpenter never disappoints me

    I miss the 80's.

  • great Kurt!

  • dude metal gear solid is not based of this ...

  • @kaos420007 Yes it is,the creator of the game said so himself.

  • abit old*

  • I hear there doing a remake, kinda a shame that kurt russel is geting abit gold, if they replaced him i tihnk gerard butler could do it.

  • this is a good movie. somewhat primitive perhaps. a very interesting group of actors.

  • is this movie worth 2 buy?

  • yh certainly is.

  • @matthewinnj08

    Yes, definitely.

  • @matthewinnj08

    This movie is a classic.

  • actually this movie is based on mgs2 because

raiden calls solid snake plisken wierd huh

  • Are you suggesting that a movie made in 1981 was based on a video game made 20 years later in 2001?

  • Haha, nice.

  • LOL

    That guy is crazy xD

  • asianboy- no it isnt. this movie was an original script written by John Carpenter way before that. get a fucking education.

  • no,solid snake is based on snake plisken.

  • this was one the best movies of all time

  • video cameras at every damn intersection. forced vaccinations, computer chips in your car to track and stop you if you try to get away (OnStar), its all real now.

  • Check out G. Edward Griffin videos here on youtube. G. Edward Griffin = awesome! Peace!

  • Sir, have you ever watched the movie 1984? 1984 is now. Peace and Happy New Year 2010!

  • The concept is freakin cool.

    BTW this movie gets remade.

    NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1981 is when its from

  • Loved this movie and the sequal. Kurt 'Snake' Russell is awsome

  • lol i have the old comic from '97 the adventures of snake plisskin

  • I love these old trailers.

  • the police state is coming, watch it happen before your eyes...

  • Ahhh so tarantino got that eye patch for kurt in deathproof from this, interesting

  • What eye patch?

  • The movie was meant to demonize and villify me, but I really loved the film instead!

  • What???

  • I want Kurt Russells jaw...he looks like a beast.

  • Whateva amigos but all i wanna say is Kurt Russell rocks!

  • "If I had to choose between prison, and the greatest city in the world, i would choose the greatest city in the world" - Michael Ian Black on Escape From NY (in I love the 80s 3-D)

  • WHAT A DAMN GOOD MOVIE!

and yeah snake is based on this guy haha

  • Why does this movie remind me so much of Metal Gear Solid?

  • I think the game MGS is based off of this movie, or lead character in this movie.

  • Correct! Hideo Kojima's inspirations were Snake Plissken and Rambo!

  • Mostly Snake Plissken. Solid Snake uses Plissken's name as an alias in MGS2.

  • Correct! Iroquis Plisken as I recall. :)

  • Exactly. 8D I always thought Iroquis "Snake" Plissken's might be Big Bossin this movie. XD (Though this movie and the games aren't related at all... come on, he has an eyepatch!)

  • The eyepatch sorta gave it away for me, lol.

  • Actually this movie an Metal Gear solid are completely related the Solid Snake of this generation is based on Snake Pliskin.

  • @cfjackson123 Snake?! Snaaaaaaake?!

  • A hind D coronal what's a Russian gunship doing here?

  • @blackhatchetpro i agree with you there he looks talk and has everything the same.

  • @blackhatchetpro no shit?

  • @blackhatchetpro

in fact it is so,hideo kojima loves this movie.

  • @blackhatchetpro Actually your right! & In MGS2 they use Plisken as a name for Solid Snakes' disguise.

  • @blackhatchetpro snake was based off snake plissken

  • @blackhatchetpro Just the protagonist, not the story.

  • @blackhatchetpro Snake was based off this character, Kojima even admitted to it.

  • @blackhatchetpro i thought the same thing

  • @blackhatchetpro Kojima said that Solid Snake was directly based on Snake Plissken, right down to the eyepatch.

  • @blackhatchetpro lol, the game was based on 15 movies or i think so. the Hideo Kojima had based the games on the 15 movies or so and this one was one them.

  • @blackhatchetpro I noticed that the main character in this Movie Is Called Snake Pliskin. Just like snake from the MGS Series. In the second game his alter ego is Called Pliskin. Nice nod to the films there :)

  • @blackhatchetpro

Solid Snake as a character was partially based on Snake Plisken in name, voice, and personality. His codename 'Plisken' in MGS2 and his eyepatch as Naked Snake in MGS3 were tributes. Otherwise, the game, gameplay, and plot have nothing in common with these 'Escape' movies...

  • @blackhatchetpro Oh it is, the guy that made MGS made Solid Snake based off of this Snake. Solid Snake takes the name of the Snake in this movie.
