Anthony Bologna, 48, and his sons Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16, were returning from a picnic when they were gunned down on June 16, 2008 by Salvadoran national Edwin Ramos, 22. Ramos was arrested on felonies twice when he was 17 years old and never turned over to immigration because of his age.

Marriage is not only an institution of the church but the government's as well.
