What all has been done to the 13B; dowel pinning, porting, type of seals, type of apex (2 piece, 3, etc), type of turbo, EMS, etc. This is pretty fucking amazing
@rotaryturbo88 Well I'm not sure if I'm getting a shell or just dropping it in place of my N/A. I've got the blueprint for a large streetport, I have a few partial sponsorships so reduced pricing for headers and exhaust and a few other things, Turbo II items will all be transplants, Ksport coilovers are gonna be $726.49. I may spend a little less than 5K.
@therotaryrocket These are good numbers considering the stock intake manifold and throttlebody, but it sounds bridgeported and at 40 psi so I'm not surprised.... I doubt this is a daily driver. No, I'm not saying this motor has not come apart but what I've should have said was that it does not take much to achieve these numbers especially for a 13b or 20b. My ls1 statement was a bit to vague but thats simply because I don't like ls1's or an ls1 in a RX-7...
@Tj1056 S4 N/A's are tanks, my buddy drove his 89 GTUs from Utah to Phoenix, AZ with 60psi compression on the front rotor and 30psi on the rear, essentially a blown motor. He cruised at 140mph for more than 200 miles. Wish I had the vid to put up, it would be nice to prove the capabilities of the Wankel Rotary.
@bhoppin18 are you saying this motor hasn't been apart? somehow I highly doubt this, it may have mostly stock components, but it probably has been apart.
stock internals... sorry to bring up a dead post, but what aftermarket internals are there for a rotary? apex seals are about all i can think of?? never heard of a company making aftermarket e shafts, or rotors?? so the ls1 stock internals to rotary internals debate is kinda pointless..??...
@teamrj83 well maybe you should look harder because there are lightweight rotors, better Eccentric Shaft and the gears inside not to mention turbo it add better lightweight pulleys and flywheel and stronger clutch you have all you need.
@teamrj83 well I know some of the stationary gears in the newer rotaries are hardened (although technically still a stock part). and you can get a lot of shit from racingbeat that is aftermarket, and super duper expensive I might add.
The reality of it is that anyone who has spent more than a month on the FD section of the forum knows that there is a never ending string of threads dealing with blown engines, is my engine blown, rebuilding engines, things to do to seals to keep them from blowing, etc...
your dumb that motor is on its 4th year of abuse and over 60 dynoruns betweeen 25 and 40 psi and you say that thing doesnt last ? lets se you doo that with your ls1 @25psi with stock internals , like this thing has ,
@blackarubian that thing is quite beast man, but come on, you don't need anywhere close to 25 psi to make 809 whp with an LS1. And yea it's on it's 4th year as you say, but that's because somebody knows how to tune, and has a very nice setup!
@rextuner03 it was a rhetorical question, my point was to outline the super sophisticated push rod engine is shit... it's 2010 ford are making quad cam v8's yet gm continue with old school shit. i am actually surprised that the push rods are concealed. what's next for gm, a hit miss engine?
@jeppoification Lol IDK about GM they seem to think there is nothing better than an old school set up. Which to me is part of the reason for their downfall. GM really does need to catch up with the times in terms of engine design, however the LS1 is a fantastic motor. I have worked on quite a few and they make great power and suprisingly good gas mileage. A friend of mine has an 02 SS Camaro 19mpg city 28mpg hwy. That's impressive for a car that runs 11's.
@jeppoification Well actually my FC has a 5.7L LT1, now that LT is definitely old technology. GM has improved the LS engines quite a bit, but just because they're corvettes use leaf springs and push rods doesn't mean it doesn't work damn well, the ZR1 ran a 7:24.6 at Nurburgring! GM experimented with DOHC designs and what not, but they're old pushrod design could not be beat, so why change what already works so well?
@therotaryrocket yeah i think they are finally gonna go for the change soon though. i just saw something about how they are gonna offer a nice big v8 or a small 3 liter v8 thats turbo or twin turbo in the new corvettes in the next couple years or something like that, that will be very weird
@blackarubian Hell yeah man, Rotaries last forever they just don't handle piss poor maintenance very well. I love all the piston and Honda owners that talk shit and hate on rotaries, and we prove them wrong every time. I'm doing an S4 Turbo II budget build that'll cost me $5,000 and will be pulling around 320rwhp. That includes new shell, motor, tranny, rear end, ECU, TII hood, coilovers, Streetport, headers and exhaust, and all the other little goodies. Currently I run an 88 FC GTU.

Uh because they are crap., always excuses for the junk rotary engine. If they were so good everyone would want one., As it is people just want to get rid of the junk engine.,
dont give a RX7 to a half ass Tuner and it wont blow up
u think the rotary r the only motor thats blows?
these types of jdm cars are collectors like the RBs,JZs,SRs,TYPE Rs and r worth modifying to the point of distruction
its not what the engine can do, but what the owner does to the engine
stock motors are ment to work with factory parts, start adding bigger turbos ext. without adding things u need to run it and of course ur gona run into trouble
LOL...too funny that you say that without even knowing what I drive. You are just as dumb as the rotards. The only thing you will smoke is weed thinking you can beat a car you know nothing about moron.
@ddavid993 yea cause you know how many timing belts you'll be putting on a rotary that has to turn that non-existent camshaft and open non-existent valves. Besides plenty of super well maintained rotaries have bitten the dust, and yes some have done exceptionally well.
Is this P ported or bridged?

40 PSI?
thats a way to destroy your rotary engine!

thats what you need for 800+ hp
in puerto rico they be running 50 psi for 6 and 7 sec passes on 13b
rotarycorvette1 2 years ago
50 psi and they produce 1100hp on alchohol and the engine runs after every pass no rebuilds no engine blowups nutting

@blackarubian apex seals like to go but they dont reciprocate so not near as much force on the engine when running boost.

maybe if u got an older FC that just been abused, then yea, but if ur FC was well maintained via oil change, timin belts, water pump ect
