  • too bad an 11 doctor episode can't be possible now that some actors are dead

  • I think Pat and Jon are drunk lol brilliant

  • Thanks so much for this clip! lots of fun!

To reply to a comment you made in you're description, Verity Lambert would have been around to see it last 40 years in 83, she didn't die until 2007.

  • You should ask 2|Entertain whether they want to include this on a future DVD release, possibly the Shada release which is going to have lot's of special features to make up for the unshot scenes (yes, it's being released. apparenly it's going to include 30 Years in the TARDIS).

  • If they made the Doctor a woman I won't watch the show anymore. It's a horrible idea. The Doctor has been a man for almost fifty years and it should stay that way.

  • @gothamcity29 Agreed. Furthermore, lets look at this logically. The doctor was born a male. Lived as a male, had a family as a male. As a Timelord, he regenerates as a male. A Timelady would regenerate female. If the Doctor could regenerate into a female, then, you could argue a Timelord could regenerate into any intelligent life form. Silly, huh? I think the smart arses who suggest the Doctor becoming female know this, but suggest so either because they're jokers, or because they're idiots.

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Some things never change - Thank God! Bring on the 50th!

(and can we have the original theme back while we're at it?)

  • Patrick Troughton is the definitive Doctor. There, I said it. Not that other Doctors' aren't good, but Pat is THE Doctor.

  • 7:56 A group of Doctor Whos? Doctors Who, surely :P

  • ooooo i feel so old now LOL

  • Three Doctors; an interviewer's worst nightmare.

  • Pertwee never ever seems to age, he looked the same as he did in 1970 when he started Dr Who and when he died he still looked the same.

  • The woman asking the questions didn't want to listen to the answers. She just bulldozed on with her questions.

  • Typically British!

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • wow verity looks so young.

  • These 3 seem so close, especially working on the 5 Doctors. Davison is awfully cute and Trougton and Pertwee sure are a funny couple.

  • Verity wasn't a bad looking gal back then, was she? :-P She seems to have died very, very suddenly.

  • where has this clip been all my life? lol. just to much awesomeness in one room

  • I love Patrick's glasses. I don't think Tom ever hung out with the other Doctors. Peter seems like a nice guy, he would make a great friend.

  • I love that the Doctors pass around jelly babies :D

  • Thanks for the add. It would be so interesting to get all 11 of them in the room at once and find out what their take on the character is. Sadly we will never get that now

  • @eggers1982me

No... but still... COULD be very interesting to get those who're still alive together...

  • Sue Lawley deserved a medal for surviving that interview. "I don't send it up!" Troughton, what a captivating individual.

  • Verity looks so young!

  • bloody hell! remember audio taping this back then!!!!

  • Yes we had a huge Sony (I think it was called a C5) Betamax video recorder that was used to tape this. It was in it's second year of life then - I could not believe my Dad bought it in 1982. I had to settle for audio tapes before then as well!

  • "And we've got to say goodnight to our companions!" Oh, how they crack me up.

  • Thanks so much! There isn't much footage of Patrick Troughton, so every little bit is cherished! And you are right, he seems very relaxed, when usually he seems quite nervous.

  • Thanks profusely for uploading this! My sister sent it to me, bless her heart :D

My 2 fav Doctors--Pete and Jon. I wonder what Verity would say if she found out DW was still goin' after nearly 46 years!

  • Discovering things like this on youtube reminds me of why I love youtube so much. thanks very much for uploading.

  • hi

Tom baker in the five doctors was recycled clips. i think he thought he would be stereotyped. why not embrace that which makes them famous? (and money!)

must admit Jon Pertwee was always my favourite, and so fantastic in all his interviews

  • chars for this

  • lol she said 45 years its got to live i hope she is wrong.

  • Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee have a funny rapport!!! If only Tom Baker had been interviewed with Pertwee or Troughton!

  • OMG Peter is gorgeous here. Tom NEVER liked being around the other Doctors, from what I heard. Tom is a nice person... but stories I have heard... very big ego and treated the other 'Doctors' poorly .He always thought of himself as 'THE Doctor' which isn't quite fair since Pat and Jon made the show their own when they were the Doctors, just as Peter did.

  • OMG Pat is so cute with his big glasses. :3

  • Great interview. Shame Sue Lawley didn't really understand. A bit Tactless of Nationwide not to include a clip from Davison's era too! What an idiot that other interviewer is saying the TARDIS shape was a 'send up'. How come people don't understand this aspect?

  • Collective noun for a group of Doctors = A paradox of Doctors.

    This is a truefact.

  • HAHA. Yes. Win. ilu.

  • "Have you seen his Worzel Gummidge? It's fantastic!"

  • hahaha at 8.03 it sounds like she says 'masturbates'

  • BRILLIANT to see Verity Lambert on here. How old was she when she died this year? I couldn't work out her age here. Also, SO GOOD to see Troughton and Pertwee together (but WHERE was Tom?)

  • A very young looking 48.

  • Tom didn't really participate in anything Doctor Who related after his reign you'd find.

  • Thanks for posting this - wonderful stuff! Pat Troughton will always be my favourite Doctor - and you are right, he always WAS ill-at-ease during interviews, as he didn't like talking about his craft because he didn't want to spoil the "magic" of acting to fans of his work.

  • Hahaha- They're passing jelly babies around!

  • i have this too. its from march 83.2 weeks after the breakfast time appearance. pat is saying hi to nick courtney

  • a doc of who's? wow! nafftastic,

  • Good night Brigadier! Good night Victoria! Good night Nyssa! Good night Jaimie! Good Night Sarah-Jane! Good Night Tegan! Good Night Tourlough!

LOL Having been more prepared I wonder how much they had fitted in 40 seconds and if they'd even putted a Good Night Tom!

The host seemed lost asking who was it?

  • No Tom Baker in this clip. What happen to him? Couldn't make it on time? lol Just wondering.

  • having just quit (2 years before) he declined to take part in the 5 doctors and all the related publicity. The photo with the "five doctors" actually contains a waxwork of Tom baker and not the real person!

  • @greatguy200 Tom was very much not wanting to be involved in Doctor Who for a long long time after 7 years at the helm of the TARDIS so it's a shame he didn't come into the 5 doctors or anything like that...

  • three great actors

    a perfect clip.

    RIP

    patrick troughton

    jon pertwee

    and verity lambert

  • Troughton and Pertwee both had heart attacks in America. kinda ironic

  • Lol, I thought she was saying something about "Religious Sex" when describing the next show!

  • Sects, religious sects.

  • Aw, Patrick Troughton. Bless him, poor chap.. Thanks for putting this up.

  • I never knew Patrick Troughton wore glasses like the Tenth Doctor?!

  • Fantastic interviews. Thanks a million for uploading. I'm always fascinated to see how the Doctors got on with each other. Troughton and Pertwee clearly got on very well.

I thought it was very funny when Sue Lawley said to Patrick Troughton "You were the second Doctor Who, weren't you? Answer yes." It sounded more like an instruction than a question.

  • RIP VERITY

  • ditto

  • RIP Verity

  • this clip is priceless!

Sad too, as Verity Lambert died today.

  • the doctor should regenerate as a female, if only for an episode....

  • I believe he did just that, as Joanna Lumley for Comic Relief one year.

  • That's fabulous! Lumley? Lawley? Wow, how could I have missed that?! ;)

  • I know it doesn't really count as it's not canonical but Arabella Weir played the Doctor in an audio drama, "Exile". She made a very good Doctor but other than that, it's fairly bad.

  • @tomreid100 Hey, who knows... maybe River Song is a Doctor? :-P

  • @tomreid100 I think i also heard they made an audio series and the doctor was a woman.

  • @tomreid100 That was only for a few minutes at the end of the special, we need a full episode or mini episode where that happens i think

  • you should see some of my Dr Who Videos
