  • This song is kinda crappy.

  • cute

  • i love to see her in glee in a duet with idina menzel or christine

  • @keos2702 I think she was supposed to guest star on Glee but for some strange reason it didn't happen, and I would have loved to have seen her on Glee

  • i first was this :| " this is going to be bad or good" *corsses fingers*

then i was like :O "she got talent!"

Merci, Thank you so much, you'r so great !

  • Not my favorite song from her and a bit croaky but I like her other songs where she shows off the range & purity of that amazing voice much better.

  • I'm better.

  • @wheremyHOESat LOL - get a record deal then :)

  • I love you Susan

  • Thanks to Susan singing this song, she has made it extremely popular again. I have never heard of it till now. Excellent job Susan, we all love you so much.

So looking forward to your new CD coming out Nov. 1st.

  • She´s amazing!!! An extraordinary woman!

  • For those who dont think they like this beautiful song see Helen Sjoholms version...stunning!!

  • @dunkannie Who is Helen Sjoholms? I like Subo singing this!!!

  • Wonderful Benny and Bjorn (ABBA) song, nicely sung Susan.

  • she's gone too far..because she got talent....very very very nice rendition...i love susan boyle....

  • @jarneyfs De gustibus non disputandum est. Matters of taste are not matters for logical debate. If they were, I'd argue that your entire recent post is an argumentum ad logicam. In other words, logical inconsistencies in defending a position do not make that position false; it may be logically defensible in other ways. Also, "circus performing mongs have got limited career paths" is an argumentum ad nauseum. Repeating insults does not make them true. Is supercilious little snot true of you?

  • Well done, SuBo. I love you.

  • I don't understand why people need to denigrate a performer. If you don't like something, move on. That's the advice given on every online forum , and yet there are people who not only refuse to follow it, but to also throw in a few more insults. Does that make you feel better somehow? Whatever. I have a little trouble with the raspiness of the last third of the song, but overall it's impressive, and like someone mentioned, the cut on the cd will be better.

  • @Topher42885 An argumentum ad populum is your rest in this matter. As a result your vehement argumentum ad ignorantiam is revealing. To see such a cluster of fallacy, then an attack on other people who cannot believe, is not satisfactory or appealing, it is tragic. However, you wish an argument in fallacy and claim you "don't understand". Here is an incomplete description of the tragedy of your logic. I hope that helps and good luck considering the fallacy that is your comment.

  • Extraordinary :)

  • omg that was kinda horrible, i didnt like it at all, the song is horrible..... the melody, tone, and OMG the lyrics was akward and shitty. no powerful notes, high notes, nothing, she seems like talking through a song... bad choice susan

  • @MrMonsterlock Have you seen the promo clip for Susan's new CD? Her studio version is even better. Look up "Susan Boyle - Someone To Watch Over Me" on youtube.

  • she doesnt look as ugly as she did the first time :D

  • Great song. Great singer. The studio version must be even greater. Hope the CD will add the introduction of this song. It will help to understand the context of the lyrics. I'm glad she decided to take this and make it popular. I listened a bunch of songs from her and I was amazed by her capacity of giving a different type of songs her own signature. It seems she can go from an angel voice to a very soulful, jazzy one and then in others her voice reaches the streght of a thunderstorm.

  • @zebracake125 You've missed the point. Her awkwardness is part of her fascination. To be a great star you need to be vulnerable and Susan has vulnerability 'in spades'

  • @dossery100 I'm not fascinated at all.Awkwardness is not vulnerability.

and I say again that song is terrible

  • @zebracake125 Well I am, but hey that's your view ,and you're welcome to it. Kindest regards!

  • @zebracake125 I thought Susan sang it very well. I don't care what anyone say. I will buy anything she puts out.

  • Beautiful---She has such a distinctive voice --can't wait to buy her latest CD

  • 69 dislikes LMFAO.

  • You can see better version with subtitles by NorCalKay on my Channel now

  • What is the name of this song?

  • @1mary1974 You Have To Be There.

  • @maryjolly88 Thank you so much! I was able to see a different version and got an explanation of what the song is about and it's a really great and sad song!! =)

  • @1mary1974 You're very welcome!! :D Yes, it is! I also love the musical it is from, "Kristina (från Duvemåla" in Swedish). The music is gorgeous...!

  • I loved this song. You did a truly amazing job Susan. I'm so glad I was part of the process of seeing you succeed.

  • Seems like Jabba the hut has been getting voice lessons

  • has someone finally kissed her?

  • @warrennguyen08 Yes! she charges a $100,000 a time! Start saving!

  • @dossery100 LOL!

  • @zolumpus Your love is greatly appreciated and reciprocated. I only wish I deserved it! Kindest regards from the UK.

  • two thumbs down!

  • terrible. absolutely terrible. made me want to beat my head on a brick wall.

  • @FPGT24 please do

  • @Megaman62889 ESAD

  • @FPGT24 You do it first and I'll follow

  • @Megaman62889 idiot

  • @FPGT24 you started it

  • @FPGT24 Hmmmmm, tone deaf?? Maybe you have a brain injury that affected your hearing from hitting your head against that brick wall toooo many times??...LOL! I think Susan Boyle did an amazing job with this song.

  • Sharon rocks dont insult her..

  • @karlyns24 If Sharon rocks anywhere it's in the sewer with all the other 'low lifes' she associates with. I regret to say she's British, but the USA is welcome to her. She's fake from head to toe.

  • Great song, great lady singing it!! Love you Susan Boyle I find it hard to wait to hear your new C.D. Nov. 1rst

  • The audience reactions to her always amazes me, no matter where she sings, they are THRILLED! It's just sounds you don't hear for any other performer. Love her to death!

  • Susan is in a class all her own.

  • @Brenda2OOO She certainly is, well said.

  • Ms. Susan Boyle just made a hit for the ABBA boys!

  • Ms Susan Boyle excellently communicates in song the emotion of being angrily determined that one's faith is justified, thus making that leap of faith and overcoming a bad spot and going on with life. IMHO, for her purposes, this performance is superb!

  • Ms. Susan Boyle just transformed a theatrical song into one more people would empathize with. Removed from the context of losing a child and literally lost floating in the sea, it becomes a metaphorical being lost in life and overwhelmed by any tragedy in one's life.

  • This performance rates a 10.0 !!!

  • Susan, darling girl you are spectacular. This rendition is totally awesome, wonderful, mesmerizing, and you've never looked more lovely. The angels surely bow down when you sing. You are loved by millions, and rightly so.

  • OMG I kind of like it!

  • everytime i start singing to myself this song.. my body starts to shiver and i get cold... Thats why im speechless with this performance

  • I don't care for her voice. She's alright.

  • go youtube and find she sang duet with Elaine Paige. Exellence!

  • @MsTinycreature or the one with Jackie Evancho, that was amazing!

  • Her voice is soooo soft and tender! And what a beautiful song! She is amazing, I´m speechless...

  • Wow. That's talent. What a gift!

  • Still awesome as ever !!

  • You know what is hysterical about all these people who dislike or hate this rendition of a difficult song. They wish they had her talent. Lets see anyone of these goofballs sing live in front of a studio audience and wait for over 45 minutes before she could even start. I bet not one could even get the first line out without fucking up.

  • @TheRedlum Its way too complex a song for many singers - SB included. She is a good singer but you have to face that she has not had the same theatrical training that would take this song to the climatic ending it requires. The vast majority of singers could not sing this as it is difficult - its a good effort but I wish everyone would stop trying to pretend this was the most amazing performance ever. Any credit should go to the outstanding authors of the piece - Benny and Bjorn.

  • All of the big acts that come on to this show prerecord for the TV show. It's taped live in front of a studio audience. Which is still live. I loved how dramatic this was, better than her last performance. The song is growing on me as well. If you understood the original musical you'd know it was written in Swedish then translated into English. For once can people think positively and realize that she is only human!

  • Anna is better !

  • @ALBERTOKARLEE DONT WATCH THE BEGINNING? IT TELLS U SOME PARTS ARE PRE-RECORDED

  • I remember seeing susan boyle walk out on stage when i was watching britians got talent me and my family said 'bad' and then she sung...oh my god that day i learned to never judge a book by it's cover EVER!

  • i had never heard this song before. i did see helens version to compare to susans. as usual, susan u were wonderful. cant wait for your cd to come out. and the judges should have given her a standing ovation. but i would expect no class from sharon. love u susan!!!

  • Hey, thejoelrashid ... If you don"t get it, don"t worry about it. Millions in the world do get it.

  • Im just gunna say what the rest of us are thinking. She is a bad singer. so my question is this? why are you guys saying she is. because technically based and skill wise she is actually bad. So if it isnt here voice or actual talent. what is it?

  • ABBA wrote this song? No wonder I didn't care for it. I didn't like them in the 70's and god only knows why I went and seen the Mama Mia production with it's cliche'd humor and ABBA songs. bleh. But good performance for Susan and I'm glad her fan base was pleased. I miss the less serious Susan from her audition and wish they'd let her speak after a performance rather than just "thank you".

  • As one who was in the audience to see this performance, I cannot tell you how beautiful and powerful Susan's voice is! She rocked the house and the lush production shook the building. The audience was on its feet for a long ovation. A show stopper if I have ever seen one! How she has grown as a performer!

  • @BravoSusan This is so wonderful to hear, thanks for sharing it. I hope some day I get to hear her in person, that is really the thrill of Susan. Can't wait for her new CD to come out.

  • Hey now, this is all good. Susan is singing another beautiful song. Helen/Kelly get world wide recognition along with the musical. What is all the fuss about. Obviously the fans of Helen/Kelly and the musical are going to have issues with Susan's version. Honestly they ought to be thanking Susan. And to those who just don't like Susan shut up and go listen to a song you do like. It isn't complicated.

  • Excellent editing by the AMerica's got talent production crew.

You can obviously tell that it was susans hologram and not LIVE.

The judges were just dummies and you can clearly see when Nick touches her in the end that she didnt notice it at all.

Good Editing NBC you thought nobody would ever know but now thats leaked

    Good Job Scrubs

  • @RepresentinTX - lol. Nice try. I checked out Nick's touch and this was no hologram. You can see his fingers wrap around her and gently press. Unless Nick was also part of the halogram. Why in the world would you or anyone come up with that is beyond me? But it was funny and it got me to pay attention.

  • @MsThebeMoon Man trust me then why didn't the judges stand up to this performance while they stood up for Nicki Minaj? Lol it looks so fake man cmonn!!

  • @RepresentinTX The judges didn't stand up because they were body double. The judges weren't there when she tapes this performance (my friend was in the audence, she said they taped this performance late at night 9:45). The real judges were all gone. There was one bald guy there, the other two fate judges wore wigs, My friend told me all these details, she went to this taping.

  • @RepresentinTX - so Susan Boyle was NOT in the building during the live show. That's really disappointing. does she ever perform live?

  • @MsThebeMoon Of course she does. She had sung in Glasgow for 60,000 people, and New York several times and she got back from China were she sung for another 60,000 with a standing ovation. Don't be ridiculous! Did you really expect they would go to commercials for at least half an hour while they were preparing the stage with a full orchestra and a big choir. I don't think so. Most of the guest stars to these shows record their performances few hours in advance. It's a common practice.

  • @kenkestangher - Not that I know of they don't ... pre-record. I know Susan was pre-recorded last time, but not now. And besides, I wasn't the one that brought this up ... so go comment to them big shot.

  • Wow this is totally top notch, and I usually only listen to House and Dance.

  • By the way Susans new cd out Nov 1 2011 called SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME will have a wide range of songs, of different genres, some uptempo , some new material as well. While she tears her insides out to deliver this one, she will tickle ur heart like a feather with her FEMALE rendition of UNCHAINED MELODY which after the first LINE are apt to turn GUYS knees into JELLY .IT IS THAT GOOD! Susan will surprise you all. Give her new cd a chance. She gives something for ALL ages !

  • For those whom say she "murdered" this song whomever has NEVER cried out to GOD, pls stand up.Desperation, anguisH , despair, fear, anxiety, frustration Susan tore her insides out to deliver the REALITY of the WORLD crying out to God.

She wasnt trying to be "Broadwayish on a stage " as the other singers b4 her whom sang this song, perfecting tone & pace etc, rather Susan was REAL with this song just as YOU would be when YOU are desperate for God to hear you .Listen again & you'll hear YOURSELF!

  • @tglades what's wrong with you no one knows you world wide so you can't be as good

  • @tglades "I've never heard her sing before" - so you are content to judge her on one performance only? Is that very grown up or what? My advice is just listen to her singing the studio version of 'Wild Horses' or her dueting with Elaine Paige on 'I know him so well' You may just change your mind. Have you never had a bad day at the office? Anyway ,it was'nt all that bad considering she had never sang it live before.Kindest regards from UK.

  • What a magnificent performance. Susan has an amazing voice, an incredible humility, and has the guts to stand up for her faith. Susan is one of a kind. Thanks Susan!

  • Chills anyone? :D

  • @vlavelmoorehead The classic story,,,,,and thats it......the story of a woman from a village who found the proverbial sword in the stone.

  • I've listened to Kerry Ellis and Helen Sjoholm versions long before I listened to Susan Boyle. And again recently to compare. For me Susan brought more feeling of despair to the song, which is a great interpretation, if your truly listening to the words. Yes Ellis and Sjoholm had more tone in their singing BUT they sang it more like a ballad. I think Susan wanted to convey the gripping heartbreak and desperation of the character and in that regard she did an excellent job.

  • @nightcolor I loved your comments on Susan, that is exactly what I was trying to say in my comment.

  • @nightcolor

For the 56 dislikes on here - I guess you just like watching someone sing and not listening to them because if didn't think she sounded awesome on this song, then you're either "deaf in one hear or can't hear out of both." SuBo nailed this song. Bet her new CD sells a million by Christmas. Bet ya! And for the tone deaf people out there - you're going to be disappointed because it's a CD and not a DVD. Duh!?!?!?

  • @nightcolor totally.

  • The song is from sweden, she's name is Helen Sjöholm.

and it's Björn and Benny from Abba who wrote the song..

  • Wow - I hope this is a huge hit for her. Simply amazing!

  • Whooooooooooooooow......... Fantastic!!!!!!!!!! Susan has the most beautiful voice i ever heard.

  • @beppenel Welcome back!

  • A ragged and flawed performance, but who the h*ll cares? She has more 'chutzpah'

than the Royal Marines and US 7th Cavalry combined. More power to your elbow Ms Boyle!

  • Susan!! Fantastic singing!! First time for me to hear this song,,I also listened to the other two women who sang this song,,,I much prefer your voice. No one can sing this song the same,,,everyone has a different voice, So looking forward to your new CD,,,keep up the fantastic job your doing!! We love you so!

  • Nothing against her but there are alot more talented people on broadway and even in college studying music then she is. If she didnt look the way she looked she would not be anything, again nothing against her im just stating facts

  • @DennisShumar11 I'm glad you are the minority on that thought. Otherwise, she would not have broken so many records with her debut CD. People do not spend money on CDs based on how a person looks, they buy based on the voice.

  • You are simply amazing Susan.. Keep up the great work...

  • drop it and go see "Du måste finnas" by Helen Sjöholm.

  • I gotta say..wuts up with her expresion afterwards....it looks like she's trying to hold in a fart or sumthing >.>

  • @BruceMaximus23 who care?as long she got the amazing voice that anyone ever have..fuck off,dude..:)

  • @emeliachen Relax..i love susanboyle too...but doesn't be we can't crack a joke or two about them ;)

  • Well done, Susan. I will look for your CD when it drops in November.

  • Not her best, sounds too mainstream. Sellout?

  • this isn't the best susan song. it doesn't allow her to show all of her voice.. not a great performance :S

  • Wow, Amazing

  • Have alrady pre-ordered this Album on Amazon.com. Such a Powerful Performance. Shows that she can sing any Genre.

  • i remember watching video on this site of susan boyle in britain's got talent in her audition. i'm thinkin oh my gosh- another bad one. then this....... beatiful voice came out and i'm just sat up in my seat with my eyes wide open

  • They gave Nikki minaj a standing ovation and not Susan? Sad. She was great.~

  • @PurpleManson - If the judges had been at the filming, they would have been on camera standing and applauding. Look carefully at the distant shots of the judges and you will see that they are not our beloved Howie, Sharon and Piers.

  • @PurpleManson judges were not present for Susan's Performance.

  • To me, this was a stunning performance by Susan Boyle. Easy to understand why she appeals to so many millions.

  • Chills!!

  • 46 people think she's not good. WELL TO YOU 46 PEOPLE, I BET YOUR BAD.

  • why did the judges all stand up for nicki minaj, david ghetta, and that other guy but not for susan?? on my opinion Susan did alot better then those 3 and i thot the group sounded off and susan sounded awesome but whatever

  • For Sharon's comments on Susan Boyle

Search youtube video "Sharon Osbourne Trashes Susan Boyle on Opie & Anthony" !!!!

  • @idrisdurrani - What a shameful exhibition by Sharon Despicable!! It wouldn't surprise me if Susan's contract stipulated that Sharon Despicable would NOT be present!!

  • @idrisdurrani - That isn't necessary. You forgave Piers and Simon for how they treated her ... oh well that was before she sang. What difference does that make? Remember, Amanda saying how "everyone was against her". And if she couldn't hold a note ... would that be okay then to put her on live TV and make fun of her. I wouldn't worry about Susan she can laugh at Sharon's comment ... all the way to the bank.

  • Great singer, boring performance

  • if u like this version then people maybe interested to see helen sjoholms version too

  • Mesmerizing, glorious, touching rendition of this emotional song. Thank you Susan, you are the best in the world and you look beautiful.

  • OMG!

  • I think Susan's a phenomenal singer, but this song is absolutely AWEFUL! Why do people like this? It hurts my ears!

  • Why didnt the judges give her a standing ovation

  • @RepresentinTX - If you look closely, you'll see that dummies are sitting in for the judges. The performance was filmed at a different time, with a house full of Susan's fans, a real orchestra, and a fake choir in the background. I love this Les Mizish song and Susan's thrilling performance.

  • @raythespian Really I thought that the performances were live?

    Wierd lol

  • @raythespian hahahahaha u make me laugh. I was there and no dummies fill in. Only dummy I saw is you for thinking it's fake and not live.

  • @RepresentinTX There were no judges present - just the backs of 3 people. Susan does not need to be judged - she is the Best Singer around.

  • @RepresentinTX I know, right? They give Flo Rida, Nicki Minaj/whore, and whatever the heck his name was a standing ovation, but not her? This music is easily ten times better! For one: the title is not 'Where them girls at?' At least this music is somewhat sentimental and stands for something respectable and relatable.

  • @RepresentinTX lol those aren't the real judges. They just look like them. This was pre-taped on the same night they showed the semi's live I was in the audience!

  • @RepresentinTX Judges must have heard Helen's version before. But Susan given a fantastic rendition in her own capacity.

  • @RepresentinTX Simple - they were'nt there. Susan certainly would'nt want sight of Sharon Osborne would she? Next question?

  • @dossery100 Why wouldn't Susan want sight of Sharon? Am I missing something?

  • @RepresentinTX search the video "Sharon Osbourne Trashes Susan Boyle on Opie & Anthony" and you'll get what you are missing plus a good idea of what type of digusting person is Sharon Osbourne.

  • @RepresentinTX Kenkestangher has answered your question. Don't know how you missed it, It was big news at the time.

  • @dossery100 Well now I have to go back to his comment

  • When I heard that Susan was going to debut her new single on America's Got Talent, I made sure that I was home in time to see her again. Clearly Susan is still loved in USA!!!!! I hope that everybody at least download's Susan and Jackie Evancho's duet "A Mother's Prayer!" It's incredible!!

  • I am totally gobsmacked and totally speechless, I think I have watched this clip at least 100 time today, it is so amazingly beautiful and yet amazingly dramatic... I love to see Susan use her hands and facial expressions... She is a fantastic person and a fantastic singer

  • @PaulieDB53

Me too... a never got tier to see her sing.
