  • It works!

  • Didn't work??? try it did't work show up

  • Would peer guardian block my actions on a school sever allowing me to torrent at school?

  • @knapster93 No, PeerGuardian stops you from connecting to 'bad' IPs. The school network could still possibly see your torrenting activities.

  • @imytutorials all you have to do to get it to work upon startup is to add the pplogger app to the startup items list. Durr

  • oh my god!!!!!!!!!!! all i have to say is that his actually helped. but unfortunately you have to listen to him talk. holy crap that sucks.

  • WOW NOW VOICEOVER keeps going off saying the date and time and a bunch of numbers then web spider, what did you do to my mac man!!! :(

  • no i did this and when I open peer gaurdian then click list manager no window pops up, got any tips?

  • phoenixlabs website is down??

  • what lists of ips do you recommend for downloading movies/music/TVshow torrents?

  • yo i owe u my life thahnk you so much ;D

  • is it guaranteed that this blocks ip tracing?

  • Nice work man. Funny tutorial. Pleasant to watch

  • do we leave "allow standard ports" checked or unchecked in the list manager???

  • wait does it work with lion cause i might just be failing...

  • just skip to 2:02 to ignore the commentary

    :]

  • what do i do if the lists i found, after trying to update says "The operation couldn't be completed"

  • I does work!! and you DONT have to press them both at start up! Heres how.

    1) Open the folder containing ppagent, pploader, and pplogger in peergaurdian.

    2) then go to system pref., accounts, then login items.

    3) drag and drop these 3 as a login item.

    4) check them off and restart computer

    Done!!

  • didnt work...

  • well it works, but after 30 or so minutes, the log stops populating the addresses. I can restart it in seconds and have it work, but is it still doing the job when it freezes like that? Please help! I dont want to go to jail.

  • Hi, this looks so great and simple that I wish it would work just as easily for me! There are a number of problems, and maybe it's just me. My original mission was to get Peer Guardian to work, since the lists are now missing and I can't add new ones. I have Snow Leopard, Mac version 10.6.8

  • 1) I downloaded PeerGuardian 1.6 from another source, and the layout is different from the previous version that we're used to. I'm not even sure it's working, and I tried reading the manual.

  • 2) PhoenixLabs seems rather inactive, there's no navigation to find Mac content/downloads, and the PeerGuardian link is 404'd.

  • 3) My mac doesn't have the ability to "Show Package Contents" when I right click, for anything. I tried it out on my PeerGuardian app.

  • Holy crap, it worked after I uninstalled and re-installed peer guardian 1.5, even the "show package contents"! And now there are things in my list! Thanks for the video (though wtf is with PhoenixLabs' site, not sure)

  • This was very helpful. Thank you.

  • annnnnnd you have reached your destination :) I love how you talk! Its so American and cool!

  • so once you download the program and activate those 2 things, you don't have to manually set up anything to block the trackers and such? it automatically blocks?

  • This is so annoying that it pops up every single time it blocks something. Anyway to disable this from popping up?

  • Bro thank you so much!!

  • Dude! thank you! Could not figure what the hell was goin on.. Seeing some vids about downloading 1.1.6. thoughts?

  • Hey, Im runnning version 10.6.7 on my mac and downloaded Peerguardian 1.5.1

I did like you explained and PG seems to be running fine, but it doesnt seem to be blocking as much as it used to. It just keeps on showing -allw-, which Im assuming means allowed. How is yours running? I just want to make sure thats its actually doing its job.

  • story about hackers kicking down doors. Hilarious!!

  • cheers dude!

  • that was great man saved me much time and headaches :) just wanted to know if this will stop those pesky isp emails haha

  • thanks man!

  • Thanks, worked great :)

  • holy shit im being tracked ALL OVER THE WORLD!

  • You can also drag the the two applications into your main applications folder, and specify them as startup applications. PeerGuardian will then be ready whenever you launch it. (It worked for me.)

  • Awesome, thanks. :)

  • thanks a bunch as soon as i got it on peer guardian started blocking things ^_^

  • just got my first mac and had peer blocker before on old computer. did everyting u said and it just worked. thanks a bunch

  • As of Feb 2011 you can install the 1.6b program and it works great and you don't need to install the pplogger programs I think. Google PeerGuardian 1.6 for Snow Leopard 10.6 and they have a link at the top for the latest version that will work.

  • @JacanaProductions That version of Peer Guardian made me want to an hero myself. Could not for the life of me find a way to unblock Steam and Blizzard's ips. Now it's hanging around like a bad sti with the uninstallation stuck at "removing preferences" and still is blocking steam and blizz.

  • Anyone know how to stop it blocking the apple time server - NTPD. I have a list that allows the ip address of the apple time server but Peerguardian keep on complaining about it via Growl.

  • not sure if anyone mentioned this yet but if you add pplogger and pploader to your login items you wont have to click on both icons everytime you restart your mac. saves time

  • Thanks man, I had no idea why it wasn't working before watching

  • Thanks Man ;)

Can You Do A Video On How It Works When Downloading Something.

Thats will be mad if you can ;)

  • Hey, thanks so much. :D One more quick question.. How do you know it's working right? Just if it shows words pop up in the box right?

  • Heyy, this worked great but it blocked off apps like iChat on my computer. How do I unblock that? Even when peerguardian isnt running i still cant use it. thanks

  • @JessicaA39 that is actually a common problem with PG and never got fixed. you got two solutions.

A.) When your not using peerguardian to block ip's... just disable the filters, but when you need it be sure to re-enable the filters when u start downloading again...

B.) Do a quick restart, or

C.) Hop in to activity log and quit out of pplogger and pploader.

    ;)

  • you are the man

  • thnx man,

    subed :)

  • Perfect! Great CLEAR instructions, thanks bro

  • So when you go into the package contents and open those two things do they stay open even when you quit out of peerguardian? Because when I quit Peerguardian I still wasn't able to access some websites, but when I restarted my computer they loaded fine.

  • @CaptainSpacie yeah, they should still be running in the background even after u close the app. If you go in to activity monitor both pploader and pplogger are still running. ;)

  • Thank you sooooo much man

  • @CaptainSpacie no prob! ;)

  • Thanks for the upload. So frustrating.

  • Thanks man been looking for a fix. your video was great! Cant wait for more. Im subbing
