I always imagined a scruffy overcoated Yorkshire drunk, half-bald with a big fat scarf ... Quite a surprise to see him with the glasses.
Thank goodness he never laughs at his own performance, I think it's the Yorkshire or whatever inflections that tighten up the stomach and make it impossible to laugh.
